A list of puns related to "White lighter myth"
My friend and me were doing our weekly thing smoking then grabbing some snacks. I jokily used a white lighter after we talked about how it's bad luck.
Sure enough thirty minutes after we finished our sesh a officer pulls in the parking lot we were chilling in. Luckily he let us off with a warning all we had was a grinder and some papers. After emptying out the grinder he gave it back.
White lighters are no joke. We never been caught before. Thankfully all we got was a warning.
I was smoking with a friend tonight and he took my white lighter and threw it out the window. When i asked why he said "I can't believe you brought that in my car, look it up" lol. I couldn't find anything really credible so was hoping r/trees could help me solve this mystery
I'm not a very superstitious guy, but since entering into the world of trees, I have had my eyes opened just a little more to the possibilities of the supernatural. I am sure most of you have heard of the famous White Lighter Superstition, and for those of you who have not: "Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrex, Janis Joplin, and Kurt Cobain were all left-handed, all died at the age of 27, and all their autopsies reported that a white bic lighter was found in their pockets. This is why it is said that white lighters are unlucky. So if you are 27 and left-handed, donβt use a white bic lighter, you will die." I never really gave the white lighter thing a thought, that is until it affected me. One of my good friends and fraternity brothers was tragically and mysteriously found dead in his bed. No drugs or alcohol were found in his system, and the official cause of death via autopsy was assphixiation(how the hell do you randomly assphixiate?). Suicide was also ruled out. It was all so strange, and strangest yet? He had a white lighter in his pocket. He was not 27 or left-handed, however this has got me considering throwing away the white lighter I have downstairs, and I'm certainly my letting it anywhere near my pocket!
Iβve seen people talking about how a white lighter is bad luck. Are people being fr and how could this be possible? But anyway I threw away the only white lighter I have cuz Iβm hella superstitious bout some shit.
https://charmed.fandom.com/wiki/Simon_Marks also click the link for whitelighter witches on that page for more info. I have read both pages. Still have questions about him. Paige was given up for adoption because it was against rules for white lighters to have relationships with witches so they had to give up the child up for adoption. But he has white lighter DNA and gets to stay with his family. Doesn't seem fair.
I'm bringing this up due to the Crackers episode! Finally got to it. And what Amouranth said. That she half Italian on one side, then English, Irish, and a little Cherokee.
So let me say that I'm part white (I'm mixed, black and white). And I was told that I was part Cherokee growing up. My friends all had the same story. Maybe this sounds familiar to some of you.
Cherokee princess is a big alternative version of the story, for whatever reason.
This is VERY common with people in the south and the middle of America. This is likely why Elizabeth Warren thought she was part Native American. It's told as fact in the great majority of white households in these regions.
They aren't sure why this is, but some suggest that it may have to do with covering up African American ancestry due to the "one drop rule" back in the day. There's a lot of fascinating articles about this, actually!
But basically, if you've been told this (especially those of you in the middle of the country or the south), I hate to break it to ya. But you almost definitely aren't part Native. Or part Cherokee specifically.
Just one of those fake rumors that gets drilled into families well over a century ago for one reason or another.
Edit:
Here's a couple random sources. Plenty more on Google. It's pretty well known these days! Pretty crazy.
And you can look more up if you feel. I should clarify that I mean "If you're told you are part Cherokee or another tribe, there is a pretty big chance it isn't true." You can obviously still be actually part Cherokee. But you would be the outlier in the group of people who believe they are
And no hate towards Amouranth or anything! She's always seemed nice enough on the show. Just adding to what Hasan is saying. Has some pretty big truths in there.
Iβm not sure if they ever addressed this, itβs been a hot minute since I watched the whole show.
