I wondered whether a rollercoaster or theme park would ever be featured on the front page. Well, today's the day. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Today%27s_featured_article/June_2,_2021
Has anyone seen any others in the past?
Besides being my local park growing up, there has been many notable attractions over the years that are pretty unique:
Police Academy Stunt Show (mostly comedic with driving, physical stunts and a huge explosion)
Gremlins ride (dark ride where the Gremlins have taken over a movie studio and Beetlejuice saves the day)
The first official Harry Potter walkthrough experience
PokΓ©mon Movie dark ride
Maverick show (based on the Mel Gibson Western)
Wild Wild West water ride (based on the movie but with zero crossover with any events of the movie)
Lethal Weapon roller coaster (theming was Chinatown/junkyard and the ride has now become a VR Joker Arkham Asykum Ride)
Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster (ghost train dark ride that transitions into a wild mouse)
Studio tour (no longer running but the highlight was the Riddlerβs lair with a bad actor mouthing lines from the movie)
Batman: The Ride (motion simulator based on Batman Returns with amazing Burton era Wayne Manor and batcave theming. The on ride live action video was filmed during Returns and featured the Red Triangle clown gang and set miniatures)
Looney Tunes water ride (dark boat ride where the conceit was you were in the U.S and Bugs Bunny dug a hole to Australia and you had to drill there to find him)
The buffet restaurant was Rickβs Cafe, modelled after the same cafe in Casablanca
Walk around characters include Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman, the Penguin, Marilyn Monroe, Beetlejuice, Austin Powers, Bonny and Clyde.
Honourable mention goes to Dreamworld, a theme park nearby whoβs owners had clearly visited U.S theme parks and just borrowed as many ideas as possible including their own interpretation of the Country Bears animatronic revue based on Koalas.
Here's mine...
Disney: The Lion King
Pixar: WALL-E (My favourite movie in general)
Dreamworks: How To Train Your Dragon
Sony: Spiderman: Into The Spider-verse
Blue Sky: Robots
Ghibli: Haven't seen any of them π³
Warner Bros: The Lego Movie
Illumination: Despicable Me
I've seen a lot of DC fans online worrying about the success of Spiderman: No Way Home and whether or not DC will be able to compete with Marvel or make that much money.
The obvious answer is of course they can, and the key way to do it is by making full use of the DCEU's most fan favourite characters and strongest actors.
In this case, Warner Bros. should push to make the Deadshot movie with Will Smith returning now that he's almost done filming Emancipation and has no upcoming projects beyond that.
Will Smith is a really popular actor who was one of the main reasons for the big box office draw for the first Suicide Squad movie. If Warner Bros. want a repeat of something like that, then they should make the Deadshot movie.
What do you all think, do you think the time is right now for Warner Bros. and Will Smith to come back together and make a Deadshot movie?
While we're at it, they should bring back Keanu Reeves into the fold and make Constantine 2, since again his was a fan favourite character and he is a really strong popular actor in Hollywood.
