For additional context, Portlaoise is Ireland's fastest growing town with well over 25,000 residents at this point and right now, there are zero properties for rent in the town on daft.ie.
We need to be building 40,000 homes and apartments nationally per year but we're years from achieving that, let alone making up for lost ground.
Frustratingly, the opposition representatives here are Independent (Brennan), Fianna Fail (Aird) and Sinn Fein (Stanley).
