A list of puns related to "Water detector"
I have 6 Aqara Flood sensors that constantly drop off again and again, need to be reset/paired or replace batteries. I give up. Iβm going to replace with one of the following, any suggestion what is best or if there is an alternative I should look at?
I have extensive Z-Wave and ZigBee networks (60+ nodes each), so either is fine. Wi-Fi is also an option, I always prefer not to use Wi-Fi for sensors, but Shelly devices are rock solid and I can place them on a IoT VLAN with my UniFi gear.
Zooz Water Leak Sensor (never tried Zooz before) https://www.thesmartesthouse.com/products/zooz-z-wave-plus-700-series-xs-water-leak-sensor-zse42
Sensitive Strips (I have their door/window sensors on outdoor gates and they are pretty great) https://www.homecontrols.com/Sensative-Strips-Drip-Water-and-Temperature-Sensor-Z-Wave-SV11020122
Shelly (I have their Relays/Dimmers, again great stuff) https://shopusa.shelly.cloud/shelly-flood-wifi-smart-home-automation-1
Heres the circuit Im working with. In the screenshot, the water detector SIGNAL_OUT is connected to the door's SET_STATE. The other circuitry is disconnected, but if you're curious, when its connected its supposed to open the door when either the motion sensor detects someone there's water in the room on the right. For some reason though, the water detector seems to be permanently stuck on.

Also just realized by doing this I may as well not have a door, but I'm still curious why this isn't working.
Update:
Ok I couldn't get the water detector to stop detecting water, but I was able to find something of a workaround. Instead of using the SIGNAL_OUT, I used the WATER_% with a Greater and Memory Component to see if it was greater than 1, and I passed that to the Or component instead. It doesn't work perfectly, since it tolerates a small amount (1% capacity) of water in the room, so if you need it to be perfect, this workaround won't work.
Another interesting note, any value for the memory component [0,1) doesn't work. It has to be greater than or equal to 1 in order to avoid false positives. I can only assume this is because WATER_% rounds up to the nearest percent, but I'm not 1000% sure that's it.
After a friend lost everything in a house fire on Christmas, I decided I need to improve the safety in my home.
My house is pretty smart (mainly convenience, like lights, plugs, etc), but I want to improve some safety aspects to my smart home.
I have an Amazon Alexa in almost every room, GE Z-Wave Smart switches (connected to Samsung Smart Hub), a ring door bell, outdoor spotlight cam, and a few indoor pop up cams. I also have an ecobee thermostat with sensors all over the house.
Iβm looking at the Ring Alarm system, as they have water sensors & the smoke/carbon listeners. Does anyone have any experience with the listeners? Upstairs I have 5 smoke detectors, 1 in each bedroom and 1 in the hallway. Downstairs on the main floor I only have 1. I currently donβt have any in my finished basement or garage. So I need 6 detectors min, and probably 9 to make myself feel comfortable.
The Nest is exactly what Iβm looking for, but pricy for 6-9 units.
Appreciate any feedback.
Kid grabs it, takes a running start and lobs it into the water while I'm swimming. The kids are in my sister's class. Pls give me a revenge strat.
I've gone through and built up myself a custom submarine, and everything was working fine and as intended, but out of nowhere all of my water detectors (and auto doors(doors with motion sensors) on the topic) just randomly stoped working and replacing them does not seem to fix it. the output (1) and false outputs (0) are all properly set up, it seems to have affected all custom subs made by me or not. Core/official subs are unaffected.
I'm very annoyed by this as I have now spent 6+ hours trouble shooting in-game and scouring the internet for answers, and have found absolutely nothing, whether it's a bug or not it has also ruined my current campaign run on top of it (as it initially occurred when I was playing campaign) I would greatly appreciate any ideas on what to try to fix this issue, or reference to a known solution.
EDIT: the rest of the sub works without issue. all things are wired up properly, have tried copying similar parts from Core/official subs, and that did not fix anything, affected systems (that I'm aware of) include, autodoors, auto bilge pumps, auto duct blocks, but strangely not airlock pumps.
EDIT 2: As per Mod, BlueTheKing Request Sub file: (Deleted)
EDIT 3: I'm a moron and didn't have gaps set up, as for some of the sensors and whatnot they weren't quite right with how they were set up TLDR I am an idiot! Make gaps!
Hello,
I have a planned trip to a tourist tubing river. The water is generally 2-4 feet deep, so really shallow. The bottom is rocky, but has lots of smaller stones and sands that can hide small metal treasures. I'm curious what metal detector would work best for this. I plan to be face down in the water most of the time.
- I keep seeing the PI-iKing (and other exact same thing) handhelds, but feel like those are cheap and will break before I even get to location. I want something that's simply reliable. Change my mind?
- I don't need bells and whistles and salt water detection, etc. I only need something that works reliably.
- I'm not looking to spend all my money, probably up to 200. I'll spend more on a handheld once I get a more expensive primary detector than a Garrett Ace 250. I'm still newer and also poor.
Hey!
Iβm looking to automate my home using home kit and Iβd like a way to turn on a diffuser based on different scenes.
The problem I foresee is that you need to refill the diffusers and I know for a fact that I would probably forget to do this from time to time.
Iβd like a way to detect it the diffuser is filled with water and if not, then it doesnβt turn on.
Can anyone think of a way to solve this?
Iβm wanting to our some water sensors in the attic but wasnβt sure if any were made to survive in what would be an extremely hot attic in the summer.
Hi all!
Iβve been looking for a HomeKit water leak detector that is battery operated and speaks directly with my HomeKit hub. Iβd like it to be completely independent from having to use a separate hub for it
I really like aquara and the eve but the aquara requires a hub and the eve is a plug in
Any suggestions would be super appreciated.
Thanks
Does anyone use water detectors under sinks and other areas? Any advice on what to get?
Hello folks, So I just finished fixing a leaky faucet for friend who lives in Gladstone and want to make sure no other leaks. In past KC water and pretty much everybody has said, just watch your meter with everything turned off is a good indicator of leak. Well I am told I'm not allowed to do that in Gladstone because they don't want customers opening the lid to their pits.
So I am looking to help my friend get a good leak detector installed in her house. Can anyone recommend a good leak detector that maybe they have some experience with to have installed on the main in her house and Good plumber to install it?
I was looking in the game files and found a sprite for a water detector.
Maybe coming in the near update!
