A list of puns related to "Warner Bros. Cartoons"
Hello all,
I was a movie theater manager from 1983-1995. I remember we played a movie (can't remember which one) that came in with this short attached. Not a trailer we attached but part of the actual film. I think it was a Bugs Bunny birthday thing set to Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody #2. It had his best lines and gags and was perfectly edited to the music. I have been looking for it for years. Am I mis-remembering?
Thanks!
HF
I went to r/lostmedia to post this, but instead I was directed here. Apparently this is where CommanderSanta types go to recount their experiences.
I need help finding an old cartoon. I believe it was made by Warner Bros., as it looked like one of their products. I don't know when it was made, aside from the obvious that it was the mid-twentieth century. I believe I encountered it via a DVD in the 2000s, likely not made by Warner Bros. themselves, containing various cartoons. My memory of this is limited. Everything I'm about to describe should be taken with a load of salt.
I don't remember for certain who made it. It definitely looked by Warner Bros., and I'm ninety percent certain it was, but I can't seem to recall the cartoon's intro. It was in color, so it wasn't that old, but still from the Golden Age of classic cartoons. The whole thing felt experimental. It didn't feature any typical Looney Tunes characters as far as I'm aware, rather an original cast. I believe the main character was a fisherman dog, or maybe a plumber or something like that. I just recall the dog was brown and had overalls. Obviously anthropomorphic. He was walking around on a green foresty background. The character was whistling, but I don't remember hearing it. Just the upbeat music. Everything's a blur from here until the introduction of a chicken character. It was skinny and had orange feathers. I do not recall what gender, but assuming it was actually made back in the day, it was probably male. The chicken was either the dog's friend or a comedic foil. There was a pond at some point after the chicken was introduced.
After this things became somewhat bizarre. Not in a disturbing way, it's just that the cartoon had a unique feel to it from then on. I don't know, maybe it was just weird seeing a Looney Tunes cartoon without Bugs Bunny. At some point a very burly man introduced to the plot. I think he was some kind of drill sergeant caricature. In retrospect, he was vaguely reminiscent of Popeye, if Popeye had wanted to nuke China during the Korean War. He was wearing some generic army attire, sort of greenish-grey getup with a hat. The sleeves were pulled up, if I recall correctly. I think he had a big chin and stubble (hence the Popeye resemblance) however I can't remember if he had a pipe or not. If he did, it was corncob. He was the only character to be voiced, and damn, he was loud. The voice actor was definitely very talented. It's a shame I can't remember anything
... keep reading on reddit β‘I have searched endlessly for an old cartoon - I remember it being similar to a Looney Tunes short in terms of animation and likely aired during the old 90s Looney Tunes blocks.
I swear I've been through so many old Looney Tunes cartoons and can't find it anywhere.
What I remember
The short starts with a very short man and a rude, large overweight wife and tiny dog. She doesn't treat him very well. The man is depressed and sees a man selling some sort of miracle pill and purchases a bottle.
He takes a pill and nada. The next day his shoulders begin itching and by that night he grows a pair of wings. He goes out and flies around town, feeling truly happy for the first time in ages.
The rest is kinda vague: I remember he runs out of pills and goes to find the salesman and is unable to find him again. I believe there is a little more to the short but that's where my memory stops.
If anyone has any idea where I can find this again, please let me know.
While watching a number of Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry or Bugs Bunny cartoons on YouTube, I noticed almost -- if not -- all of the videos had a considerable dislike ratio. Some of them have even as far as over half as much dislikes as there are likes in them.
The videos also had their comments turned off for what I assume to be out of related reasons.
Why is that? What's been happening with the channel?
