Vorbis comment Puns

Hello, I realized that when I use MusicBrainz Picard the date of the remastered album is put in the DATE field, rather than the original date.

I want to insert the original date in the DATE field, but then I don't know which field I should put the date of the remastered album in.

The RELEASEDATE (aka. TDRL in id3v2) doesn't seem to be the proper one.

the ID3v2 structure document [ID3v2-strct].

I saw on GitHub that someone was working on a pull request for adding multiple genre support (https://github.com/airsonic/airsonic/pull/765), but I guess the build failed. I was just wondering if anyone with more experience than I do could give it a look? Multiple genre support is pretty essential for me (and for many other users).

I have some mixed file content in my audio library, some mp3, some vorbis, and now some opus files. I send all my files to the volume analysis to write ReplayGain tags, and all my .mp3 (mp3 audio, ID3v2 tags) and .ogg files (Ogg containers, Vorbis stream, vorbis comments) have REPLAYGAIN_ALBUM_GAIN and REPLAYGAIN_TRACK_GAIN tags, with typical values of -10dB. When I copy these files to my Android phone (Samsung 10E, Android 10), the songs have a similar volume (tested with BlackPlayer, Poweramp, Google Play Music). So far so good.

Now recently I wanted to use .opus files (Ogg containers, opus audio stream). Like my .ogg files before, they have Vorbis comments when I inspect the tags, but instead of the REPLAYGAIN_ tags MusicBee only adds R128_ALBUM_GAIN and R128_TRACK_GAIN tags with a value of 0. These files have lower volume when played on Android, despite having a similar volume to the rest of my library when played in MusicBee.

So where is the issue here? Is that a MusicBee bug that it writes the wrong tags? Is it an Opus issue that MusicBee can't get the correct volume? Is it somehow Android's fault? Is there something else I'm missing?

Does PowerAmp v3 support vorbis comments tags? I'm seeing several of my flac albums as "unknown album"/"unknown artis" etc.

If it doesn't have proper support, do you think it is likely it will get it?

Intrebarea este putin gresita. Putin nu este un actor irational - a dovedit asta in nenumarate randuri. Nu vreau sa luati asta ca pe o scuza pentru el, ci mai degraba sa considerati ca oricine s-ar afla la butoane in Kremlin va vedea Ucraina ca facand parte din sfera de influenta a Rusiei. Inclusiv Alex Navalny - desi el este ceva mai delicat decat Putin cand vorbeste despre asta.

Noi, din partea cealalta a baricadei, preferam sa vedem Ucraina ca isi exercita autonomia si isi alege singura drumul. Din pacate, Rusii vad Ucraina aliniata cu vestul ca pe o amenintare si vor folosi orice mijloace pentru a impiedica aceasta realitate.

Astazi vedem o escalare de la o abordare de tip "deterrence" la o abordare de tip "compellence".

Best case pentru Putin este ca Ucraina sa devina un stat 'supus' cum este Belarus sau Kazahstan. O victorie militara in Ucraina le permite sa schimbe regimul/constitutia/etc pentru a obtine acest rezultat.

Ce se intampla acum ?

La ora actuala Rusia are tehnica militara care poate echipa in jur de 60 (in curand vor fi ~90) de batalioane de artilerie, tancuri si APC-uri amplasate strategic la granita cu Ucraina. Acest nivel de escalare este fara precedent in istoria post-sovietica a regiunii si ne spune ca Rusia mai mult ca sigur va escala conflictul.

Am zis tehnica militara - pentru ca deocamdata rusii au mutat tancurile dintr-un depozit intr-altul. Personalul militar pare sa fie la nivel minim. Urmatorul pas ar fi sa mobilizeze si soldati care sa foloseasca aceste echipamente. Acest aspect este important din 2 motive :

1. Razboiul nu va incepe maine (dar mobilizarea soldatilor ar fi un semnal puternic).
2. Putin are flexibilitate cand vine vorba de cat de mare va fi escalarea (poate mobiliza doar 10 batalioane sau pe toate 90)

I guess the concept didn't work

By mutiple genre fields I don't mean a separator but a separate GENRE field, like so:

ALBUM = Aerosmith 1973
GENRE = Rock
GENRE = Hard Rock
GENRE = Blues Rock

If you do this, have you ever noticed any disadvantage other than certain music playing software cannot handle them and will only display the first genre?

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

The IA received a DMCA notice today. I am going to release a tool that allows you to retrieve the data from the game itself, which will contain no copyrighted material (since it is just a tool). It should work on Windows, Mac and Linux, although I can't test the Mac version.

As a follow up to my last post detailing the method I found to manually extract the audio from the Exhibition, I've now written a program to extract all 1000+ .wem files from the .ubulk and .uexp files they were in previously. I've also uploaded the results of that program to the Internet Archive (since Google Drive has a downloader limit, and MEGA has a bandwidth cap).

The upshot of this is that these files are still encoded in their original Vorbis codec (so they're smaller), they're the correct length (so they're smaller), and most importantly, there is no (unintentional) glitches, skips and crackles. All the information that is present in the game is present in these files, without the corruption from a raw FModel rip.

The files are now available to be directly downloaded as OGG. Click ZIP, and then click "Kid A Mnesia Exhibition Audio (ogg).zip". If some of the -chunk1 files are missing, this is because they weren't full audio files and can't be converted - they're just a copy the first few seconds of the chunk2 files, so there's nothing to worry about. A few files are missing from the OGG version. Unfortunately, I don't have the knowledge to fix what ever bug in ww2ogg is causing this, so you'll have to convert them with something like vgmstream with foobar2000 (which if you're on Linux or Mac runs quite well on Wine).

You can use an audio player with https://vgmstream.org/ to play/convert it, or you can use https://github.com/hcs64/ww2ogg and https://github.com/ItsBranK/ReVorb to convert it to a regular .ogg file without re-encoding (no quality loss).

E vorba de postarea asta la care multi ati comentat (si va multumesc pentru asta, indiferent cum ati facut-o). Nu am reusit sa iau o decizie in timp, asa ca decizia s-a luat singura.

Din pacate, si asa cum multi dintre voi ati preconizat si chiar spus, bunica mea a murit astazi de dimineata. La spital.

Dupa weekend-ul prelungit de 1 decembrie, a revenit doctorita curanta in garda. Ne-a transmis ca a facut febra si diaree (ceea ce stiam deja de la asistente de cateva zile, dar probabil ea atunci aflase). Am presupus ca era ceva cauzat de raspunsul organismului la tratament.

A reusit acum doua zile maica-mea (testata si echipata) cu acordul doctoritei, sa intre doar ea (din pacate) si sa stea mai mult cu bunica mea sa vorbeasca, sa-i dea sa manance etc. Bunica-mea perfect lucida, Poate primul stegulet rosu ca ceva nu mergea bine, desi nu ni s-a spus explicit, e ca a fost lasata maica-mea sa stea ceva mai mult cu ea decat data trecuta. I-a explicat situatia - ca trebuie sa mai stea in spital niste saptamani ca sa incerce si un alt tratament si apoi o luam acasa - si, spunea maica-mea, a parut ca intr-un final intelesese. Sau se resemnase.

Culmea e ca maica-mii i s-a parut mai bine de data asta cand a vazut-o, putea tine ochii deschisi, "febra" era oarecum moderata (37.2) si ii trecuse deja, se putea intoarce cat de cat in pat. Scaunul era tare. Mai bine ca data trecuta, maica-mea a plecat mai pozitiva decat prima data. Si-a luat la revedere si am plecat acasa.

A doua zi am primit de la doctorita informatia ca saturatia de oxigen era ~76 (cu oxigen cu tot) si ca, daca o depaseste situatia, o va trimite din nou la spitalul din oras pentru intubare. Am luat cu maica-mea decizia ca daca e cazul de asa ceva, nu are sens si ca o aducem acasa daca a doua zi starea nu se imbunatateste.

N-a fost cazul, fiindca a doua zi a murit foarte de dimineata. Nu stiu sa va zic exact cum si in ce conditii, maica-mea a primit telefonul si nu am apucat sa discutam asta, asa cum va imaginati sunt foarte multe de organizat si e nevoie de cautat sprijin in randul cunoscutilor/rudelor. Si sincer oricum nu mai conteaza acum, probabil la momentul de fata e mai ok sa nu stiu. Voi afla.
