Some vinho verdes I've had have an effervescence, and some don't. Is this a cultural/traditional thing?
I've never been to Portugal or made Portuguese food, so I don't really know what I should be doing here. I do love vinho verde though. I figured I could do caldo verde, but I figured that it's a faux pas to make soup after winter. I found a recipe for Portuguese-style grilled pork tenderloin, and I figured that would be good both because it's light and because I can use the grill (yay spring).
I figured I would just serve this with rice or potatoes and salad, but I wondered if there are any sides or hors d'oeuvres that are fixier and still appropriate. Also, dessert?

I love it for summer days in the park...you can drink it all day long, and never get too drunk. It's got just a bit of fizz, and it is gulpable if that's the mood you are in. Any favorites? Anyone tried rose VVs?
It may sound ridiculous, but I sure had lots of guilty pleasure accompanying my last hour of studying with this combination of cheap but yummy snack and cheap but oh so drinkable wine. Cheers!
