A list of puns related to "Ventura, California"
Where: The Sespe Wilderness and Piru Creek area. My intended route was from the Piedra Blanca trailhead up to Pine Mountain Lodge, then the Cedar Creek Trail, Grade Valley Road, Johnston Ridge, Stonehouse trail, Piru Creek Trail, Miller Jeep Road, Snowy Creek motorcycle trail, bushwhack down Piru Creek to Hardluck, Buck Creek Trail, Little Mutau creek trail, Johnston Ridge, Sespe Trail, Red Reef, and finally Lion Canyon trail. Unfortunately, I had to bail out from the Buck Creek Trail, so I cut off a significant portion of my route.
When: 2021-04-11 to 2021-04-15
Distance: I'm unsure of the total miles because maps don't generally provide mileage for motorcycle trails or dirt roads and also I bushwhacked and on the Buck Creek trail miles became meaningless. Generally I hiked 12 miles per day, though.
Conditions: Nights were right around freezing, days were generally cool in the upper 60s with a cold wind and blazing hot sun in the middle of the day.
Lighterpack: https://lighterpack.com/r/0un6on I don't know how accurate this is because I kept finding things and picking them up to take with me and I probably had more little random things in my pockets than listed here. But it's pretty close.
Useful Pre-Trip Information or Overview: I would recommend you research the trails of this area on http://www.hikelospadres.com before you go. I would also not recommend hiking on motorcycle trails after they open the trails to motorcycles. I hiked while they were still closed. Don't hike in the Sespe in the summer.

The Report:
Day 1: Piedras Blancas to Cedar Creek, with a detour to Fishbowls. All of this was lovely. There were some ticks on the Piedras Blancas trail after Twin Oaks camp. Cedar Creek campsite is a really nice campsite with three fire pits.
Day 2: Stonehouse trail is sort of boring. I'm not sure if this is a hiking trail or a motorcycle trail, but it appears to be more used by motorcycles and OHVs than hikers. The stone house and Stonehouse camp is hard to get to. It has been ruined by a gigantic fallen tree. I got pretty torn up by wild roses trying
... keep reading on reddit β‘In 2018 I was the passenger in a dui, they crashed into a barrier and when the police arrived they put the driver in cuffs and said I was too intoxicated to even follow their demands (despite me not even being the driver) they asked me to take a breathalyzer numerous times, had to be like a dozen until i finally cracked and submitted, then they said nevermind, theyre taking me to the hospital to forcibly take my blood. The officer claimed that I said I touched the wheel as we were swerving off the road to try and gain control because the driver was dozing off (my words apparently) but I was too intoxicated to remember even saying that, we were both underage (19) at that time.
The DA and local PD dropped the charges completely and sent me a letter in the mail proving so, and sent me a letter saying I'm a victim and to contact X department to file a claim for restitution.
However they did a DMV hearing without me even present, I assumed they just didn't proceed with it since all the charges were dropped and they had no case, but as im now 21 and need to travel farther than locally I'm trying to get my license and I guess they did the dmv hearing and labeled me as an unsafe driver and that I have a dui according to their system.. they said I'd need a form from my doctor saying I'm mentally stable and would need to get sr22 insurance. Frankly I didn't even know the DMV and courts were separate entities until recently when I tried getting my license. Nobody told me, only person I talked to was the DA receptionists after I went into the collections unit room to set up my court date and they said to go to the DA's office, and the receptionists basically just said my charges were dropped, gave me a paper stating as such and that It won't be on my record.
How can the DMV charge 2 people in the same car for a dui when the driver was already charged and sentenced? After the DA and PD dropped my charges? Can grabbing the wheel as were slowing down about to crash as an instinctive response with the driver being drunk even be considered basis for a DUI?? I was in the passengers seat ffs. Is it possible to be "too intoxicated" on alcohol and (my prescribed) benzodiazapines to take orders from a LEO but reliable enough to give a statement that can be used by the dmv to hold against me? (I don't even remember saying it)
I feel like I'm overly being taken advantage of here. Bad enough I had to wait this long to get my license, now I have to suffer the consequences
