I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Long-time no-see!

I’m back with my thoughts on Season 20, and I can safely say that I think my watch rate will be back to normal as of next season. For those that have been following along, lockdown has prevented me from getting through much TAR, but here in NSW, Australia, we’ve recently opened back up, and my ability to watch plenty of TAR has returned!

I was able to quickly smash through the back half of Season 20 after watching the first half about a month ago or so, and I’m here today with my extended thoughts!

Due to the nature of watching this over the course of two months, some of the details may be a little bit hazy, but I’ll try my best! We hopefully shouldn’t have this problem with me forgetting things as much going forward (fingers crossed!)

Onto the season itself – this one unfortunately wasn’t one of my favourites. Whilst it did have some enjoyable moments, fun challenges, and a pretty entertaining route, it really struggled in the cast department. For me, there was a grand total of one team that made it deep in the season, and was wholly likeable. Many of our ‘main characters’ in the season just didn’t do it for me. Were they good characters/additions to the season? Yes! Definitely! But were they likeable and rootable? Not to me, and that made it hard to really get behind some of the teams this season.

Alongside that, we had a two-team season essentially, with all but one leg being taken out by two teams. This is something that has worked to a degree in the past, but due to both teams being fairly unlikeable to me, I struggle to get behind the rivalry here.

But without further ado, let’s just get into it.

Disclaimer: I've only seen Seasons 1-20, AUS1 and Season 30 - so please refrain from spoiling any future seasons! I'm planning on only browsing my posts in the sub, and nothing else, to avoid spoilers! Also, this is all my opinion! You are of course allowed to disagree, but lets keep it civil :)

Thoughts on the cast

Like I mentioned in the intro above, the cast as a whole is probably the biggest downside for me this season. Overall, we don’t have too many memorable or likeable people, but there are fortunately a few exceptions.

A reminder though that I don’t do my ‘rankings’ purely based on likeability – thus we WILL see teams sitting higher in my rankings than my description may imply because of their contributions to the season and storyline.
