A list of puns related to "Unknown Worlds Entertainment"
Now you might be asking yourself βwhat is the meaning of this?β Well, my Idea of βSubnautica World Of Unknownβ (SWOU) is an online game of the original subnautica but merged with βBelow Zeroβ creating a huge map rather than the original map of subnautica. Where you get to team up with other players and form allyβs to complete tasks like capture new concepts leviathan or survive with each other. Thereβs also going to be HUGE storm and water + land tornadoes. Donβt forget about the βKharaa virusβ which keeps mutating and research to find new ways to find a cure. That is all :)

I've literal tears in my eyes as I finish the game. To fall in love with such a strange, beautiful world, filled with strange, (mostly) beautiful creatures.
To you, I give my thanks for a wonderful game, and my hopes that Below Zero invokes the same feelings of awe and occasional frustration.
due to how its basically mandatory to base building
With Starcraft ghost canned and now news of a FPS based in the Starcraft universe meeting the same fate I really feel like Blizzard dropped the ball not acquiring Unknown Worlds Entertainment team in 2012 who had just released Natural Selection 2 which in my opinion (besides being a wholly unique and outstanding game) could have easily served as a platform to build an amazing squad based Starcraft themed FPS.
It pains me to think what UWE with the IP and resources of Blizzard could have produced.
With Subnautica coming out of Early Access soon, they're working hard to get the game ready for release. They just put out an update that-
Adds a bunch of graphical options.
Fixes hundreds of bugs.
Is overall a massive improvement to the game's appearance (this is a matter of opinion, but I'm all for it)
And then do you know what they did? They wrote a formal apology for not showcasing the update properly. Most other developers I've seen make much larger mistakes than this barely even admit they were wrong, and here these guys are making an amazing game and apologizing for making their update look bad.
They love us and we love them. They are the most open and communicative devs I've ever seen, and I can't wait for them to finish this awesome game.
I've recently gotten subnautica, and Its incredible. It gives a sense of discovery and mystery and atmosphere that I have yet to experience in any other title. It also got me thinking, that when the developers finish updating this game and perhaps move on to new project, I feel like they could do something that would be incredible. They could do a similar and create a cave exploration game.
now that might sound retarded to some of you guys, but for anyone who has seen Made in Abyss, you know exactly where I'm going with this. If you havent seen Made in Abyss and want something that gives basicly the same sense of wonder, mystery, horror, and discovery that you get in subnautica I would suggest you watch it. its pretty good. Basicly the core Idea is that there is a giant hole in the ground divided into layers or zones that progressivly get more dangerous/more beautiful the farther down you go. The bottom remains a mystery, But along the way you find mysterious artifacts that can help you ward off the beasts that threaten you as well as aid you in your journey. The neat thing about made in abyss is that every element that contributes to its sense of wonder and discovery is not only translatable to a video game, but is both in some way present in subnautica AND can be expanded on past the point its represented. Ill list some examples here.
Creatures:
subnautica is full of interesting creatures. their behaviour and how they intereact with each other is a big part of the game. In made in abyss, the world is full of fantastical creatures. both docile and dangerious. Each layer of the world is filled with creatures that become more and more dangerous and eventually lovecraftian in nature. Now I havent played through to much of subnautica yet, however I know that there are definitly horrors that lurk in the deep. It would be incredible if Unknown Worlds created a game where creativity wasn't just limited to water based creatures.
Beauty of the natural world:
Subnautica has many beautiful environments. However, they are all environments that are created with the idea of making sense in the context of an ocean world. Image if you could play a game where every layer you survive through brought you to a biome that was completely unique. Examples in made in abyss include upside down forests, giant mushroom biomes, and enormous frozen waterfalls.
exploration:
One of the cool things about subnautica that make it unique, is that its open world incorporates b

Unknown Worlds Entertainment are the developers behind Natural Selection 2. Max McGuire cofounded Unknown Worlds in 2006 and created an entirely new engine for Natural Selection 2 - he's very knowledgable about game engine design.
Like the Goddess at "Tondemo" story where she wants sweets from another world because she was spying on them and have no idea at first that he arrived at that world and can buy stuff from Earth
Despite pretty hefty issues regarding the legal end of the company, Blizzard seems to be making headway in game development. Here's what the situation looks like thanks to a recent job listing at the moment.
The description of the Associate Content Designer job reads, "As an associate content designer, you will foster Blizzardβs core value of βGameplay Firstβ as you collaborate with a team of designers, engineers, and artists responsible for crafting this unannounced projectβs world."
There's also a mention of βexperience working on an FPS gameβ and βprevious design experience for Online/Multiplayer gamesβ in the listing. All this points towards an FPS open-world game with RPG elements.
Now, there has been a previously spotted job listing as well that we have to put in the equation, but that one doesn't mention first-person shooter anywhere, so maybe that's something different.
What do you guys think? A hybrid of two genres?
When I play Ironsworn with several different settings, a lot of the times I find myself wandering in a world that I still do not know much about, despite having already established worldbuilding for it. I would type or write down the origin and history of the world, the majority of the races and denizens, gods, the magic system, etc, and yet when I play, there are so many new things I discover that I did not previously covered in my notes. I've tried published settings from other RPGs, novels, movies, and other media, and it wouldn't matter, new things still pop up that's not covered in the books. It is essentinally worldbuilding that expands as you play. That's what I love about Ironsworn.
