A list of puns related to "University of Chicago Scavenger Hunt"
Alright so I did some digging and was able to find all of the historical gyroidite data dating back to the very first scavenger hunt and made this graph! ๐ฅฐ (This was all originally from a Facebook group I'm in)

The bars represent the length of each event in days. The dots represent how many gyroidites were required to finish the event. (You can also see the length of each event on the bottom of each bar, for easier reading)
Some interesting observations:
-The very first event was by far the easiest. Players were given 14 days to complete the event and only 200 gyroidites were required to be collected. This meant that you only had to find 14 per day.
-The most recent event (this month) has been the most difficult (8 days given to collect a massive 850 gyroidites, aka pumpkins this month). This means that we've had to find 106 per day. (This isn't even counting additional ones that need to be found if you want any duplicate furniture). So you're not crazy for thinking that this month has seemed harder than before. It is quite literally the hardest scavenger hunt that's ever occurred in Pocket Camp! ๐ฎ
-There wasn't a scavenger hunt in May of 2018 (it seems the game was still finding its footing)
-To date, there have been 42 gyroidite scavenger hunts! โค๏ธ
-If you add up all the gyroidites needed to have completed all 42 events, it totals to 23,540 gyroidites collected over 3 1/2 years!
-The average length of each scavenger hunt comes out to 8.43 days, as of today. This month's event is 8 days long. It also seems to have stabilized over the past year.
-The level of difficulty has been steadily increasing ever since the first scavenger hunt. Hopefully this doesn't continue! But if it does, I've added some helpful hints at the bottom of this post so you can be equipped as much as possible to handle it!
So many interesting discoveries that have come from doing this project. Thank you to Carolynne F for inspiring me to do this by making that post the other day. She originally shared her data to the group that she had been tracking since the 18th scavenger hunt!
Also thank you to Heidi S for wondering how long each event has been. That proved to be a crucial element in better understanding the level of difficulty for all of the gyroidite scavenger hunts!
I'll also add the source I used to figure out all the missing his
... keep reading on reddit โกThis YouTube video has been lurking in the back of my memory for years now, so not every detail may be as I remember it. I'll do my best to describe everything I remember, though.
I likely watched this video between about 2013 and 2016. The reason it has stuck with me is that it tells a really dark and scary story. The video was a "deep dive" video, in the style of YouTube channels like "Down the Rabbit Hole" or "Nexpo." As these channels tend to do, I think it told the story as something that may have actually happened or may have not, leaving it up to the viewer to decide (kind of like a ghost story).
The video describes a scavenger hunt with clues to follow, leading to some kind of reward. Probably taking place across the UK. However, the scavenger hunt itself warned its players of danger, even death, should they follow the clues. People followed the clues anyways, and one or more people did die. I don't think the reward was ever found. Some of the clues had references to folklore involving death, maybe dating back to medieval mythology.
One last detail which may be relevant is that I think the video was somehow related to the VSauce channel(s). Not by them, but in one of their "leanback" playlists, where they curate a collection of interesting videos. I've combed the playlists on the VSauce channels and haven't found anything, but there are definitely some playlists that have been removed. I'm not 100% certain about this part, but it may help.
Any information is appreciated!
this may be controversial as itโs not the main part, but i honestly wish the scavenger hunts were a separate app on their own. i love david hillโs art style and the animation, but i despise how you have to pay to continue with the hunts.
