The United States men's national soccer team is better than the United States women's national soccer team at soccer

Here are the facts:

1.U15 FC Dallas boys team beat the women’s national soccer team (WMNT) 5:2. U15 means under 15 in which the boys have to be under 15 at the beginning of the season. The team is composed mostly of 14 year old boys. In youth soccer it’s pretty common for advanced younger players to “play up”-meaning there is quite possibly a handful of 13 year old boys playing on this team so we can safely say the median age here is 14. Note this is a club team in which the players come from the nearby area for the most part vs a national or odp team. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/a-dallas-fc-under-15-boys-squad-beat-the-u-s-womens-national-team-in-a-scrimmage/amp/

  1. The 93 SoCal boys odp (Olympic development program) team beat the women’s national team 2:0. This again was a group of 14–15 year old boys. Although a select group-the pool of boys is from Southern California region vs the WMNT pulling their players from across the nation. https://www.and-again.com/post/uswnt-no-match-for-so-cal-boys-odp-3256939

  2. Australian women’s national soccer team lose to U15 (again a group of 14 year old boys) Newcastle Jets boys team 0:7. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3609949/amp/Matildas-lose-7-0-Newcastle-Jets-15s-Rio-Olympics-warm-up.html

The WMNT is regularly beaten by boys teams as young as 14 years of age.

The majority of players on a top boys high school soccer team are 17–18 with a smattering of 16 year olds.

  1. The U16 odp team who regularly scrimmages some of the top high school teams in Florida (3 of the 4 state semi finalists) due to proximity and are routinely beaten by the high school teams (while the odp boys are generally more skilled/better ball control, the highschool teams tend to be just slightly faster and are definitely more physical-this is the difference between 15 yr old boys and 17–18 yr old young men). https://www.usyouthsoccer.org/2017_us_youth_soccer_odp_boys_florida_interregional_concludes_in_florida/

  2. The gap from a 14 to 17 year old or 15 to 18 year old is the difference of an adolescent boy to a man-the speed and strength of the 2 are immensely different. https://kidshealth.org/en/parents/growth-13-to-18.html

While the transitive property is often cringed at when applied to team sports due to match up problems, etc. We have to deal with it to address a hypothetical.

14 year old boys club team soundly beats WMNT. Odp select 14–15 yr old boys team beats W

United States Men’s National Soccer Team: A Legacy of Failure (Part 3)

Coming home from the unprecedented success of the 2002 World Cup, the United States men’s soccer program is running on the highest of hopes. Let’s see what happens!

2003
You start 2003 by totally embarrassing yourselves in the Confederations Cup, failing to get out of group stage, securing only a draw against Cameroon.

Mexico gets some measure of revenge by winning the 2003 Gold Cup, even though you don’t play them. Kaka and Diego continue your run of futility against Brazil in competition, though your team was likely exhausted from the Confed Cup a month earlier.

2004
Not much happening this year, but you do get a good start in World Cup Qualifiers for the 2006 tournament in Germany, and you also have some high-profile friendlies against the Netherlands, Denmark and Poland. All preparation for next year.

2005 Gold Cup
With Mexico ousted by guest stars Colombia, it’s a free run for the Gold Cup for the Yanks! You win your 3rd Gold Cup by beating Panama on penalties! What do you want, a fucking trophy?

2005 CONCACAF Hexagonal
You continue to take care of business in the Hex. The only stumbling block is the fucking Azteca, as usual. But you respond back with another Dos A Cero performance in Columbus. In a surprisingly easy qualification phase, you qualify for the 2006 World Cup in Germany! Conglaturation!

2006
God DAMN, USA is ranked 4th in the world! And it’s not like you’ve been playing scrubs, you’re beating some fairly well-regarded teams. Sure you got thumped by Germany and had a hiccup against Morocco, but every team has those. Right?

2006 World Cup Group Stage
FIFA doesn’t find your rise amusing. They rig the system and put you into the Group of Death with the Czechs, Italians and Ghanaians. Well, can’t do much about it. The last four letters of “American” spell “I can,” right guys? LET’S FUCKING GO!! U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

Group Stage vs. Czech Republic
Party like it’s 1990, motherfuckers! The Czechs completely ass-pound you and put you on the back foot from the very beginning of the tournament. Between the 3-0 loss not reflecting well on goal differential and the fact that you have to face Italy next, things are looking quite bleak.

Group Stage vs. Italy
It was one of the ugliest games played in this World Cup, but you stole a point from the well-regarded Italians. You need a win and some help against Ghana, but how good could that club be?

Group Stage vs. Ghana

United States Men’s National Team: International Soccer’s Boys’ Club

Oh goody! More rantings on international soccer's greatest disaster from your resident soccer shitposter!

What? Waddya mean you don't give a shit about soccer?!

(Television snow)

The failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup was truly one of the highest caliber for the United States men’s national team. The massive defecation taken on the pitch in Port of Spain was the culmination of the self-fellating tire fire the USMNT has become since the tenure of Jürgen Klinsmann ended.

Now rudderless with no manager, seemingly no direction for the program, and with what prestige we did have well and truly lost, the future is certainly bleak for the Yanks. But how did it get this way? How does a team with such a promising collection of emerging talent and a sufficient amount of snarl not get beyond the Round of 16 in the World Cup?

The beginning of today’s problems have their roots in 2002. Coming off their best-ever performance in the World Cup that year in South Korea, new life was injected into the struggling, debt-riddled mess that was Major League Soccer. With plenty of new media opportunities coming due to the steady increase in internet speeds, plus a need to capitalize on the newfound success, the so-called “marketing wing” of MLS was created: Soccer United Marketing. A bunch of guys that wouldn’t know soccer if they were pegged in the face with a free kick.

Overseeing this disaster is Don Garber, the commissioner of MLS. While he has done a good job with ensuring the league’s survival after the disastrous reign of Doug Logan, the problem is that MLS and SUM are far too cozy with the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). There seems to be some genuine xenophobia at work as well.

Ever notice how during Klinsmann’s tenure, there was a seeming influx of talent from the European leagues, and MLS was seemingly relegated to second-tier status? Klinsmann’s open feud with Garber and the Boys’ Club in MLS/SUM was the stuff of legend. Klinsmann was originally hired to change the culture of US Soccer. Say what you want about the man’s tactical acumen, he at least made the effort to scout outside the confines of MLS and encouraged young players to go abroad to get even better.

While he did have more than his share of high-profile misses such as Julian Green, Timmy Chandler and Ventura Alvarado, he did bring in guys like Jermaine Jones and John Brooks, and he had the balls to bring DeAndre Yedlin into the team for the 2014 World Cup, at the expense

United States Men’s National Soccer Team: A Legacy of Failure (Part 2)

1991 Gold Cup
The USSF decides to show manager Bob Gansler the guillotine for his somewhat controversial picks for the World Cup the previous year. Serbian manager Bora Milutinovic is installed as manager for the ’94 World Cup cycle. Despite getting eliminated in an admittedly tough group at the World Cup, the Yanks continue their CONCACAF success. You knock off Mexico in the semifinals and beat Honduras in penalty kicks to win your first-ever Gold Cup! Conglaturation!

1992
Warning signs of the self-fellating mess the USSF would become start this year with the organization creating and hosting U.S. Cup, an invitational tournament. Despite inviting some European powers like Ireland, Portugal and Italy, those clubs don’t bring their best squads. As such, the Yanks storm through the tournament undefeated! You’re winner! You also manage to qualify for the Confederations Cup by virtue of your Gold Cup victory last year! But you finish 3rd out of four teams, losing to hosts Saudi Arabia in the process. Woof.

1993
Major League Soccer is officially formed as per FIFA’s orders. You also finish as runner-up to Mexico in the Gold Cup this year, and as a result, you miss out on the 1995 Confed Cup.

You do manage to beat England in the U.S. Cup this year, and that was with their full squad! But Jurgen Klinsmann and Karlheinz Riedle end your hopes of a repeat as you finish 3rd out of four teams.

1994 World Cup
Soccer’s biggest stage comes to the U.S. Placed in a group with Switzerland, Colombia and Romania, expectations are low, but hopes are high. And the Yanks are equipped with the best fucking soccer jerseys ever, the legendary Denim Kit.

Group Stage vs. Switzerland
Heroics from Eric Wynalda give the U.S. a 1-1 draw in the Pontiac Silverdome, the first ever indoor World Cup match. A good start against a pretty good club.

Group Stage vs. Colombia
OK, the Colombians are ranked 4th in the world. This match is gonna be a tough one. (Andres Escobar scores an own goal) Pfffffff—HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! USA wins not by their own skill, but by Andres Escobar, one of the best center backs in the world, choking on his own shit.

USA wins 2-1 and has a good shot at getting into the knockout rounds. The cocaine gangs back in Colombia don’t find this as funny as you do however, and Escobar pays for the error with his life.

Group Stage vs. Romania
USA loses, but only by 1-0. Despite this, by virtue of a go

CMV: The United States would have the most dominant National soccer team in the world if all of their elite athletes grew up playing soccer instead of other sports.

Title effectively sums up how I feel. In the United States, soccer is nowhere near the most popular sport. The money and attention go to bigger name sports such as football, basketball, and baseball. There is a place to argue hockey as more popular as well, but now isn’t the time. Because of these other sports being more popular, their elite athletic talent aspires, trains, and grows up playing other sports. Soccer arguably gets the 4th or 5th best athletes in the nation. If these athletes were to train from a young age playing soccer, the United States would be dominant in the world stage and much, much more successful in world cups and other similar venues.
