A list of puns related to "Trials of the Knights Templar"
I hope the villain team are a version of The Knights Templar.
So knights in armour with swords & shields with capes.
And their logo will be something reminiscent of a red cross
We're gonna get new pokemon like a horse, dragon, dire wolf and things generally ride-able for sure. The villains will be riding them around hopefully.
As the title says, is there any recorded information about the origins of the most recognizable Templar symbol? The Latin Rule dictates that brothers should wear habits "of one colour, that is white or black or brown", but doesn't mention any insignia on them. I found a pretty suspicious looking article stating that the symbol "was not an ornament (of the Templars) until 1147 when Pope Eugenius III approved of it", but it doesn't mention the circumstances of this alleged event or cite the source of the claim. I also found dubious theories about the symbol originating from the Cross of St. George, or the Templars adopting it from the Republic of Genoa, but these don't sound very plausible to me.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on the subject.
This is confusing, apologies, but really hopeful someone can explain whats happening/is normal to me.
I have ALWAYS been a heretic (ruler designer) I think what happened is when I claimed my 1st kingdom via claim/conquest I inhertied the Knights Templar and became their suzerain.
However all my descendants have been heretics, but still suzerain of the catholoic holy order. Now whenever there's a crusade or a holy war- the Knights Templar always join the war AGAINST me, even though I'm their Suzerain.
IS that right? Surely they should only be able to fight independence wars against me? Of note, each of my successive rulers inherits the character modifier, expelled the knights templar.... which seems a weird thing to inherit. Is that working correctly?
It also means I cant expel their holdings from my land, and then they attack me from there each holy war.
Insights appreciated, thank you!
Were they pleased at the removal of a more influential rival, or was there fear of similar happening to them as the crusading era wound down?
I was waiting to post this, but it seems it can wait no longer. I am the leader of a new nation in the ++, The Order of the Knights Templar. The Knights Templar is devoted to ensuring peace, prosperity, and stability within the great frontier of the ++. We are a completely neutral nation, with the goal of establishing trade with the other neighboring independent nations, and to provide a sanctuary for defense against raiders. We hope to build up our infrastructure and begin trading missions with our neighbors like Akaii, Maltovia, Entrana, as well as larger nations like Mt. Augusta, Vinland, and Yoatl.
I understand that there have been several posts attempting to claim the land that our infrastructure currently occupies. I would hope that our claims are respected by the international community being that we are the only nation within the stated claims that actually has reinforced infrastructure. As a local to the area for the past 5 months, I've been living on the Isle of New Venice. I've constructed a reinforced border wall along the entire length of the island, as well as portions of the neighboring peninsula. I am the sole architect of the highway system connecting our capital city of Constantinople to Risk, Georgia, New Venice, and Rowa. I also aided in the construction of the flat land area at Constantinople, and built my home next to it in hopes of it one day becoming a great city that I could trade with. As construction has been halted by its former architects, I plan to make that dream a reality. I was going to wait to post this until we were more established, but it seems it can wait no longer as parties have already begun attempting to lay crayon claims to this area that I have so personally invested my time, energy, and resources into. If your nation is interested in a prosperous and peaceful ++, I humbly ask for your support and recognition. Our borders are open. Many thanks and God bless.

I'm currently reading about The Crusades and I am having a hard time finding more information on the Knights Hospitaller. They seem like an interesting group, but I'm having trouble finding information on how they treated (as in cared for) people and their justifications for their more militaristic actions.
