Soon after, Stanley McChrystalβs top combat CDR, Douglas Philippone, joins Palantir (8 page 4). Palantir then hired lobbyists, of particular note, Trent Lott and John Breaux of Patton Boggs (9). Soon enough, Palantir gained fans across the military, including Trumpβs future National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn (who worked under Stanley McChrystal), Trumpβs other National Security Advisor, HR McMaster, and Trumpβs future secretary of Defense, James Mattis (8 page 4).
