I (used to) work at a residential remodeling company that specializes in home additions. Last week I was asked to go to one of our projects and shovel dirt out around a foundation wall so the footer was visible for inspection. I pointed out that the trench (approx 2' wide and 10' deep) presented a serious and potentially life threatening safety hazard (cave-in hazard). Instead of resolving the issue by shoring the soil walls to prevent cave-ins I was sent to another jobsite so they could get my coworkers (who are not safety certified and therefor unaware of the danger entering this trench posed them) to go in and remove the soil. They demonstrated a clear disregard for the safety of their employees. This morning I was terminated for "not fitting the company culture" (aka having the audacity to point out their blatant safety violations). Good riddance. I just feel bad that my coworkers will continue to be taken advantage of and put at risk of serious injury or death.

Edit: forgot to mention i did call OSHA who informed me that they would send a car by but they couldnt do anything if they couldnt see the trench from the street. I will be contacting them to start an inquiry and a whistleblower investigation.

It has been seven years of unending war. A war that saw thousands die every week in open combat and several more of injuries sustained in those engagements. This war had seen humanity under the Terran confederation pitted against the Frax republic. The republic had started the war officially with their declaration but unofficially the confederation had really began the fighting after the republic refused to leave the system of a farming world that the confederation had laid claim to. In the opening shots the garrison of the planet New Kingston had crippled a few smaller ships but the larger troop landers and ships of the line remained unmolested by the limited arms of the defenders. Soon the republic landed their troops which were about six to seven foot tall and vaguely human shaped with the troops being upright on two strong legs with a definable upright and torso holding four arms which themselves were attached to three fingers and a opposable thumb, a thick neck, and round head.

The troops are strong, intelligent, and very coordinated. They were a force to be reckoned with even on their own but in large numbers they were nigh unstoppable. The garrison of New Kingston was overrun within days. The humans there were lucky that the republic were not engaged in a war of extermination but one of exploitation and were taken over and made to continue their toil and give any excess to the republic, and the soldiers for their part made sure the republic got its due. That was until the confederation mustered its response.

In the time humanity discovered FTL and started their colonization of the starts many more wars have been fought and the arms and doctrine have changed and warped to fit the densely populated and now battle hardened men and women of old earth and mars. Humanity had taken the first major line of the Fraxen defense about one thousand miles inland and making slow, steady, and bloody progress forward. After the engineers had finished their job of building an optimized logistics line and the artillery was ready and waiting in the new positions the bulk of the eight million man army started forward once again. The armored companies following close behind as they were called up to assist now that resistance had grown and the risk of losing valuable fuel and ammunition in attacks that the ground forces could capture on their own had been deemed void. The Fraxens for their part were now well aware of the meat grinder that was slowly advancing and they dug in to stall or stop the attack so the federation could deploy more of their number to expel the enemy from their newly acquired planet. They had sent tens of millions of their own and several hundred thousand of the human workers to do the work. The humans were slightly bloodied and bruised after even the first substantial line that was built in only a year but the lines after this was built up over three years and were still growing.

The Humans continued the march on day one of week one of the third year. Their number of ground troops numbered eight hundred million, the tanks numbered five hundred and were all in the center of the front along with one hundred million men stacking the army thickest there. The formation was a box for the tanks as they readied to breach the enemy line with the heavy tanks numbering two hundred and holding the right and left along with the front of the formation the mediums were all piled into the center ready to flare out after the breach was made. It happened a few days ago, even though it feels like it has been weeks. I was browsing threads and articles about GD. Someway some suspicion started to take root and I kept browsing and reading. It started like small cracks that appear in a dam until suddenly, the dam collapses. A few hours before I’d have laughed out loud at the very idea, but it hit me like a wave that takes you, sweeps you along, drags you through the sand, and finally throws you away into the shore and lets you with an unexplainable feeling of pure happiness and everything crumbling around.

I can even pinpoint the exact moment the dam broke. The article ends with a long list of clues that showed the author had GD. And then she writes "Some of these thoughts (especially the last one) are pretty dang trans-y, but others are really easy to write off as having alternate causes that are a lot more common than being transgender. In fact, I’d be shocked if the cis people reading this didn’t relate to at least one or two of the items on this list.". That moment, I thought "Then... what if I can relate to each and every one of them?". Next thing I know, I had to concentrate in remembering how to breathe, because I felt I had forgotten how you do it.

In 1962, Italy is in a desperate shape. Despite having achieved everything it could desire, a unified country, an empire and a sphere on it’s own, after ww2, the Empire has a in 1962 a devastated economy, a stretched thin army and unsatisfied allies desiring spoiling the fascist dictatorship of her hardly gained territories. Furthermore, the succession of Mussolini’s son in law, Galeazzo Ciano, as Duce didn’t help to alleviate the country’s problems. Here are the Italian sections of each dev diary.

1. Detroit: Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan; Detroit picks a homegrown talent with the proven production to continue its years-long rebuild. Hutchinson has the size, power and speed to succeed at the NFL level.
2. Jacksonville: Evan Neal, OT, Alabama; Jacksonville needs to keep Trevor Lawrence upright, and Neal is a 6'7, 360lb specimen who can do just that. With Cam Robinson scheduled to leave in FA, Neal is a mighty tantalizing prospect with the potential upside of a massive upgrade long-term.
3. Houston: Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon; There's one thing Houston has prioritized early and often, it's the front seven. Eight of Houston's eighteen first round picks have been along the defensive trenches, with names like JJ Watt, Whitney Mercilus and Amobi Okoye. Thibodeaux is a generational prospect who can become a franchise player in Houston.
4. New York J: Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU; A lights-out cornerback prospect who can hang with the very best of them. Head coach Robert Saleh must be giddy at the chance to draft a talent with the potential to become the next Darrelle Revis.
5. New York G: Ikem Ekwonu, OT, North Carolina State; The Giants now have the league's worst offensive line after LAC has largely fixed its own issues by drafting Rashawn Slater and signing Corey Linsley. Ekwonu is a rock solid prospect who can help keep Daniel Jones upright.
6. New York G: George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue; The Giants also need a pass-rushing force opposite rookie Azeez Ojulari, and Karlaftis is the third of the big 4 pass rushers in the top 10 who can terrorize opposing quarterbacks.
7. New York J: David Ojabo, EDGE Michigan; Ojabo is a high-upside prospect who can help the other New York team complete a defensive line that's been excellent at penetrating opposing inside offensive lines, but not so much along the edges.
8. Carolina: Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss; I'm not sure QB is the right move for Carolina here personally, but it's definitely something an impatient Matt Rhule would do. In 2 years he's gotten rid of Cam Newton, got his replacement, got rid of said replacement, got another replacement, benched that replacement and brought back Newton. Corral is a prospect with a proven arm in CFB's toughest conference.
9. Atlanta: Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame; Atlanta is one to go BPA here, as it did with Pitts in 2021. Hamilton is a safety with rare length and ball skills, and he could be a terrorizing force

Everyone is excited about the Legends event that's coming soon, and for good reason, but with all this speculation surrounding what Legends characters we'd like to see come to the game, it makes me realize there are still a lot of canon characters and ships we're missing. Listed are the few that I can think of. What other major canon characters/ships are we missing?

#####Prequel Era

• Jango Fett's Slave I - A fan favorite, though unlikely to be added at least any time soon. Bounty Hunters have no need of an additional ship at this point (unlike several other factions). This would be a fun addition eventually, though.
• Grievous' Belbullab-22 (Soulless One) - The biggest thing against this is that Grievous is already crew for the Malevolence, though having multiple ships crewed by the same character could be a neat way to expand the space game. Separatists could stand to have a few extra ships.
• Jar-Jar Binks - No one is clamoring for Jar-Jar, but he is something of a big omission given how prominent he was in the prequels. I could totally see Gungans being added as a faction of marquee characters some day, albeit no better than B-tier.
• Saw Gerrera - A really interesting character from Clone Wars. Though he'd be more likely to be added in his GCW iteration (From Rogue One), he would be a welcome addition in the eyes of many, I am sure.
• Admiral Trench - He's a neat character and ends up being an effective adversary for much of the Clone Wars series. Could very well be added.
• Kalani - The model for this Separatist droid commander already exists ingame. Biggest argument against it is that there aren't enough separatist droids to form two squads.
• Pong Krell - This Jedi Master from the Clone Wars wielded two double-bladed lightsabers, which made him visually unique. That said... there's nowhere he really fits and nowhere he's needed.

######Prequel Era Outlook:

The prequel era has been pretty well mined for content. The omissions here, that I can think of, don't have much of a place inside the game as it is today. While these would certainly please some fans, I don't see them as likely any time soon. I think the next time we'll really see much from this era will be when The Bad Batch returns for a second season.

On an outer space adventure to research a strange energy source moving faster than light in an experimental rocket, four people got hit by cosmic rays. While usually harmless, the rays were affected by this energy source, changing the four forever in the most fantastic ways. Reed Richards is elastic, Sue can fade from sight, Johnny's the Human Torch, and the Thing just loves to fight (according to the intro song, at least, while his actual power is being made an orange rocky thing with great strength). Together, they use their power for good as the Fantastic Four, saving people from foes ranging from the Doctor Doom to Galactus to Puppet Master.

Really, they're the same group we all know going through the same famous stories, only animated in the nineties.

The first elements of 3rd company carefully walked through the gate into Porttown, weary for any sign of an ambush. Holt followed them closely expecting there to be some kind of welcome. Sure enough, a small group of people stood in the middle of the street, flanked by a couple armed guards, seemingly waiting for him. After a few tense moments where the two groups eyed each other warily, a tall man with broad shoulders stepped forward.

“Over here!” he called, waving a hand.

“Are you in charge here?” Holt asked back, walking forward with his own group following at his heels.

“As much as anyone is,” the man shrugged, “you?”

“I’m the Champion of Victoria,” replied Holt, “I wasn’t expecting… well not sure what I was expecting to be honest.”

“When we heard your army was on the way, we figured it would be the best time to take over,” the man replied, “I’m Daviir.”

“Holt,” the champion nodded greetings, “hope there were no deaths.”

“The warriors were drunk and drugged, it seems, so other than a few injuries we managed to capture them pretty easily,” Daviir explained, all the while Holt could practically feel Amilia grinning smugly, “I just hope it wasn’t for nothing. We need power, we’ve had to turn off most of the services of the town. Lighting, water and so forth. Even so…”

“How were you getting power beforehand?”

“The Harbor Quay wall has a half dozen turbines built into it, as the tides flow in and out it generates power. But the regulation system was damaged, and we don’t have the ability to repair it,” replied Daviir, “the housing blocks have solar and wind generators, but almost all of them were damaged in the war.”

“Well, I’m willing to help out as long as you join the nation,” Holt said.

“We knew you would ask for that, and have been ready to accept whatever terms you give us since we decided to take over. So long as you can get us power before people start dying.”

“That’s fair,” Holt nodded, pausing to think, “soonest an assembler will be available is in a couple days, and it could take up to a week to repair the road here and get power flowing that way.”

“Even with minimal power usage we won’t last that long,” Daviir replied sadly.

“I figured, I can have a truck with a fabricator a few emergency generators delivered in a couple hours. Probably won’t be enough to power up the entire town but might keep you going till the road is repaired.”

The Antoro Kingdom, while secretive, did possess public intent to stretch out, but due to the Great Blood Crisis that occurred these plans, while attempted, were later ditched due to unexpectedly heavy losses they incurred - having a populace of only just over 200,000, and losing some 98,000 people just from combat, not counting the additional 8,000+ from diseases, gas attacks, and another 47 people missing entirely. The Antoro Kingdom ended up suffering a civil war - those who supported the war found themselves hated by their fellow countrymen because of how badly they suffered as a result, especially with the reparations, and then an economic collapse only a decade later.

The reformed Antor Federation, which came after the throne's emptiness was never going to be filled, ended up lagging behind other nations, primarily because they never previously wanted help, and no one could help them...except for Russia and Germany, and Italy, whom were all declined. After Germany invited them over to show off a growing army, however, concerns arose about the Federation's ability to defend itself. However, in 1939, and then in 1940, Germany showed that it had never lost its warrior spirit, when Poland, and later Czechoslovakia fell to German hands. The Federation ended up expressing interest in an alliance, and showed that they wanted the Astorians to be taken down, as they were worried that their presence could drag the US into the conflict. After developing their own armor, they ended up attacking France, and later the Astorians, with Germany, blitzing (literally) through the nation and to its capital, Amarance, which was forced to surrender.

With the loss of the Battle of Britain, Germany was unable to maintain a full European conquest, and with the British showing heavy tanks, the Antor Federation decided it was time to create a vehicle of their own, that would withstand a Churchill. TOP 25 ALBUMS:

1. By The Time I Get to Phoenix (Injury Reserve): If anything were to contradict the brightness that came at the end of Injury Reserve's last album (in the form of the track Three Man Weave) it is this album. This album comes right off the heels after the recent death of Groggs, one of the 3 in the hip-hop trio that died. WitCavalcade (black midi):h that context in mind, this album is heartbreaking. Its themes consist of all the themes you might find in an album about death; you'll find motifs of grief, pain, and even acceptance. The way this album projects these themes however, is very messy and non-linear. The production is experimental even for a group that was labeled as experimental already. The rapping puts no real emphasis on creating a clear flow or a cohesive dialogue, but it is the performances of what is being said that feel grand (and they often times hurt!). Seeing this in concert was also heartbreaking. As the end of Knees played towards the end of the show, Ritchie with a T let the instrumental play out and sat down in what seemed to be a moment of sorrow and mourning for the lost band member. It was the only time I've seen a venue go close to completely silent. A lot of what is on the album can be equal parts painful and beautiful to listen to, but what the album becomes with each continuing listen is a rewarding sentiment to Groggs and the group's current standing.
2. Shore (Fleet Foxes): Listening to a new Fleet Foxes album is always like taking in a deep breath of fresh air. Fleet Foxes have always been a prime staple of modern indie folk (as Helplessness Blues and Crack Up are some of the most magnificent albums of the 2010s), and they continue their winning streak on Shore, an album that exemplifies putting on a warm blanket on a chilly day. Unlike some of what popped up on their previous efforts, there are little to no melancholy moments on this album. It is inherently optimistic, with Robin sounding less conflicted in his lyrics and instead, sounding happier and full of more gratitude than ever. In some ways sonically, it is more of the same, but in no way is this a negative.
3. Sometimes I Might Be Introvert (Little Simz): Little Simz infuses jazz rap, melodic hip-hop, and even rap bangers onto this new SIMBI project, but above its versatility, it is its introspectiveness that makes this so fucking good. Like the title states, I'm trying to find current (preferably FY 2021-22) information regarding per resident compensation by state. The most up-to-date information I can find is in the 2nd article below (Mullan et al 2019).

Full disclosure, this stems from a conversation with faculty regarding resident compensation that was mildly insulting. Lots of "back in my day"-ism and it's not worth going into here. I became, shall we say, motivated, to find out exactly how much my institution gets per resident and where it all goes.

Personally I’d like to see us continue to shore up in the trenches as the o-line was slow to get going and we haven’t been able to spread opposing defenses out, and good teams were too effective in the run game against us this year.

Along the outskirts of Burgess Hill, the men of 5th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment nervously fidgeted in their hastily dug trenches and foxholes, checking and re-checking their weapons and ammunition. The battalion was an infantry battalion; it boasted little in the way of heavy firepower and they knew it. Between the 600 of them, they had a dozen Boys 0.55 AT rifles, a pair of towed 2 pounder cannon, and a single machine gunned armed Mark VIC light tank scrounged up from a training depot. 「Bad Side of the Moon」resembles its user, with groups of tendrils at the end of four major appendages (Two "arms" and two rear fins) on a mermaid-like body shape. Its head is rounded and draconic, with a large frill behind each of its pupalless oval eyes. Segments appear to be composed of metal scraps reminiscent of a shipwreck, including a large dorsal fin. It is primarily blue and white, with shades of grey accenting its less natural components. It swims gracefully, and walks like a seal when on land.

Ability:

A object or category of objects are incapable of moving away from Bad Side of the Moon or objects it envelops once they come within a 20 meter sphere of the activated stand. Affected objects can move closer, but attempts to increase the distance are met with a force similar to a wall. This is not a physical barrier, rather a hard limit set by the stand that cannot be directly passed though. If the user moves while objects are trapped in the affected area, they must drag anything that provides resistance. Though this can be circumvented, as the effect can be released and reactivated very quickly.

BSotM is capable of enveloping objects, providing them with its properties. Once enveloping an object, BSotM becomes visible to non-stand users as a thin coating. It adjusts to cover the entire object, either stretching out to the size of a car, or compacting to about a cubic centimeter. If enveloping a sentient being, it shares control while partially hijacking their spirit. It does not directly command them, but can attempt to 'steer' them and guide their actions through the shared thoughts. This is more difficult to do if the target is aware of the stand's ability and/or unwilling to cooperate. As a side effect of this connected consciousness, the user's simple mind is able to use other brains for processing, making them capable of more complex thought.

Damage done to BSotM does not transmit damage to user, nor an object/individual it encompasses (Though the deformation of the stand still allows the force itself to damage such objects), but extensive damage will force it to deactivate and KO whoever is in control. Process

How does this work? Throughout the course of the week rankers are able to access an app that will allow them to rank teams. At the end of the period we calculate the average ranking for every team and collate all of the analysis provided by rankers.

The app then generates a post that is first proofread and then posted to /r/hockey!

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

There are nine first round players left from 2010, the inaugural year of these official /r/nfl power rankings. A lot has changed in the world in the past 12 years, both on and off the field, but this format lives on. 32 team representatives, 32 rankings, 1 list. A quick thank you to the readers, commenters, and rankers for making this happen for all 17 18 weeks of the season. 30/32 reporting live, discuss!

After reading everyone's comments, I'm not certain anything major had to be changed, so I went ahead and added another round. Updated standings after yesterday's KC win.

ROUND 1

1. Detroit: Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan; Detroit picks a homegrown talent with the proven production to continue its years-long rebuild. Hutchinson has the size, power and speed to succeed at the NFL level.
2. Jacksonville: Evan Neal, OT, Alabama; Jacksonville needs to keep Trevor Lawrence upright, and Neal is a 6'7, 360lb specimen who can do just that. With Cam Robinson scheduled to leave in FA, Neal is a mighty tantalizing prospect with the potential upside of a massive upgrade long-term.
3. Houston: Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon; There's one thing Houston has prioritized early and often, it's the front seven. Eight of Houston's eighteen first round picks have been along the defensive trenches, with names like JJ Watt, Whitney Mercilus and Amobi Okoye. Thibodeaux is a generational prospect who can become a franchise player in Houston.
4. New York J: Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU; A lights-out cornerback prospect who can hang with the very best of them. Head coach Robert Saleh must be giddy at the chance to draft a talent with the potential to become the next Darrelle Revis.
5. New York G: Ikem Ekwonu, OT, North Carolina State; The Giants now have the league's worst offensive line after LAC has largely fixed its own issues by drafting Rashawn Slater and signing Corey Linsley. Ekwonu is a rock solid prospect who can help keep Daniel Jones upright.
6. New York G: George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue; The Giants also need a pass-rushing force opposite rookie Azeez Ojulari, and Karlaftis is the third of the big 4 pass rushers in the top 10 who can terrorize opposing quarterbacks.
7. New York J: David Ojabo, EDGE Michigan; Ojabo is a high-upside prospect who can help the other New York team complete a defensive line that's been excellent at penetrating opposing inside offensive lines, but not so much along the edges.
8. Carolina: Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss; I'm not sure QB is the right move for Carolina here personally, but it's definitely something an impatient Matt Rhule would do. In 2 years he's gotten rid of Cam Newton, got his replacement, got rid of said replacement, got another replacement, benched that replacement and brought back Newton. Corral is a prospect with a proven arm in CFB's toughest conference.
