A list of puns related to "Three Friends of Winter"
My first order at Deep Midnight (mostly autumn-themed fragrances, reviewed here) was such a stunning success - all four were hits for me, the first time I had ever loved everything in a single order. I placed a second order so I could full-size Seven Veils [Madagascar Vanilla, Orchids, White Florals, Sweet Golden Amber, Spices] and try some winter-themed perfumes. Their catalog is enormous and everything is available all year 'round, and I very much look forward to exploring more of it. Not to mention, you get a free sample (that you pick) with every individual item you order, so my order of a full-size and a three-piece pick-your-own sample set came with two free samples. (One of those is very much a spring perfume, so I'm waiting to try--and review--that one later.) This is absolutely a house that works for me.
TAT was quick (shipped within a few days, and arrived maybe a week after that) and shipping was free. The perfumes came securely packaged, and in gauzy blue drawstring bags. Like last time I was also gifted a small polished rock (not really my thing, but I'm sure it's appreciated by those who do like such things). I should note that I had also contacted the owner to ask if they were going to run a Black Friday sale, and I heard back almost immediately. Sadly no, they didn't run a sale, but I was very impressed by such a quick response. This house is a joy to order from.
Three winter-themed fragrances:
Sassy Snowmen [Sugared Cranberries, Crisp Winter Air, White Amber, Juniper Berries, Frosted Woods] - This perfume is primarily the fresh, clean, fancy soap of the ozonic "crisp winter air," paired with the bright red burst of the cranberries which are fruity without being sweet, on a base of unassuming white amber. I don't get the juniper berries or woods individually, but they add a soft foresty musk that adds to the "crisp winter day outdoors" feeling of this lovely perfume. Between this and Arcana Snow Witch: Moonrise [Cold, pale lunar musk, white amber, fluffy snow, Boswellia sacra, silken robes, purple iris, soft cedar, and Egyptian blue chamomile], I have now started a "fancy soap in winter" subcategory in my collection.
All Is Bright [Crystalline Amber, Orange Peel, Cedar, Fir, Cinnamon Bark, Clove] - This one is mostly orange (and indeed such a sweet orange that it veers towards watermelon candy, whi

He has a theory that Ozpins Semblance is time related, he believes this because of all the clock imagery with him.
He thinks Raven is a future Ruby, he thinks that that Raven saving Yang on the train was actually a future Ruby going back in time to save her sister.
His favorite character is Sun.
He thinks the show is really good so far, he enjoys the fighting scenes, and laughs at a lot of the jokes
NOTE : For the purposes of this post assume that upon finally reaching Brynden Riverβs cave in the far North, and residing with Bloodraven and the children for some time, Bran, Jojen and Meera have cleared the air with the tree wizard and Leaf as to the question of whether Bloodraven is the three-eyed crow - and he is.
Also for the purposes of the title above, assume that when GRRM says that Bran will be King - he will.
Letβs dive in!
>Finally he looked north. He saw the Wall shining like blue crystal, and his bastard brother Jon sleeping alone in a cold bed, his skin growing pale and hard as the memory of all warmth fled from him. βBran, AGOT (et.al. for all following passages unless noted otherwise)
Shining like a blue crystal? The Othersβ eyes and their wights shine blue, no? Is this a very very early hint that thousands of years of oral myth have lost the true history of the Others building the Wall? Who better than those who can shape and wield ice with their magic?
Also is that foreshadowing Jonβs death? Maybe or maybe not, but thatβs not very critical to the point of this analysis, so letβs get to the heart of this post...
>And he looked past the Wall, past endless forests cloaked in snow, past the frozen shore and the great blue-white rivers of ice and the dead plains where nothing grew or lived. North and north and north he looked, to the curtain of light at the end of the world, and then beyond that curtain. He looked deep into the heart of winter, and then he cried out, afraid, and the heat of his tears burned on his cheeks.
Bran has been taken on a vision quest across the lands of Westeros by Bloodraven / the three-eyed crow, and eventually turns north, far far north... and while what he sees past the curtain of light, deep in the heart of winter frightens him (we can reasonably suspect itβs the Others and their otherness) itβs the heat of his tears - his fear - that actually cause him pain, burning his cheeks.
And people who are in pain and experiencing fear are susceptible to manipulation...
>Now you know, the crow whispered as it sat on his shoulder. Now you know why you must live.
βWhy?β Bran said, not understanding, falling, falling.
Because winter is coming.
Branβs family words, the Starkβs motto! This could be read as an analogue for the Others and thatβs likely exactly what it is -and / or- it could be incredibly insidious manipulation to assuage any mistrust Bran may yet still harbor of
