Well, we were all hyped up for the Thomas bear rep and as promised, I’m sharing my results!

• Auth is from 2020 season, leather and darker colors
• Rep is the classic Burberry print, soft materials

DIFFERENCES: I know we all wanted the bears to be twins which 👎🏻 it ain’t happening! but they do look like family tho! no one will call out your rep bear while you’re walking or shopping but if you have an auth you can clearly tell the difference!

As you can see the rep is much smaller and thinner than the original, which is a CHONK!

The hardware is the biggest call out, the auth Is a deeper yellow, rep is almost rose gold , the font in the engraving is also really different, in the rep it looks like comic sans LOL.

I think that overall the rep is a pretty bear too, for 35€ you can’t even complain!

I’ll rock it w confidence for sure, as I haven’t used my auth cause I had one stolen from my backpack and it still hurts me 🥲

Quality: 6/10

Comparison: Saw links for these posted a few times a couple months ago so I figured I'd give one a shot. I bought the auth at Burberry while on a trip to England over a year ago and he's still in excellent condition despite being on tons of flights and trips to the grocery store. Main differences:

• Fabric - the auth is very smooth and soft, the rep feels more like a course wool. The rep has a lot of fuzz sticking out so he looks untidy. The pattern is decent though.

• Size - the rep is a full centimetre shorter than the auth, also I've noticed that the reps on all the links I've seen have much thicker arms than the authentic.

• Hardware - the auth has deeper, thicker stamping than the rep and the colour is supposed to be more golden. The leather bit holding the bear to the keyring has actually started showing wear after two months of use on the rep, whereas the auth is pretty much still mint.

• Shape - so the rep Thomas' eyes aren't in line with each other and his head is a bit crooked (you can see how they both look lying next to each other). He also has bow legs. The bowtie on rep Thomas' neck has a knot in the middle instead of a neat square like the auth, and his tie is curled up at the edges. One thing I've noticed on a lot of the reps is they have a long pointy face and narrow nose, this one has one of the better face shapes.

Overall: Rep Thomas looks like what Real Thomas might look like if he went through the wash about 10 times. While he was a fun GP, to me he's not really a good substitute for the auth. In use though, he's not bad looking and no one could probably tell he was a rep unless they did a side-by-side comparison (who LCs a teddy bear?). My 2 year old niece thinks they're the same though lol.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
