A list of puns related to "This Place Hotel"
TLDR at the bottom (or in the title)
Okay, that's not exactly what she said but that was about the gist of her meaning.
We all get them sometimes; the guests who keep themselves wilfully ignorant of any information or policy that you do your best to share, aided and abetted in this endeavour by travel arrangers who do their best to hide the most pertinent information from the traveller to save themselves by making it the front desk personnel that bear the brunt of the traveller's ire when the booked accommodation falls short of their inflated and unrealistic expectations.
Note: I am at a small four-star self-catering property: no porter, no room service, no parking on the premises and no valet to take cars to the parking lot around the corner with which we have an arrangement for our guests. These guests arrive on Friday evening, obviously expecting a five-star full-service hotel for their three nights with us over an event weekend. Oh joy.
After husband and wife bring in luggage from their car and are given directions to our discounted parking arrangement near by, they come back and all during check-in make little remarks about how they didn't make the booking (their credit card company's travel desk did - we'll call them U.S. Swiftly) and "obviously we didn't know about all this", meaning the limited service of the hotel. We have them allocated to a suite on level two, but they want a higher floor - not available because an international sporting event has booked out our hotel and the city far in advance; we only have two rooms left that aren't checked in yet and they can't be moved from their existing allocations. Not thrilled, but they take the keys, grab their luggage and head upstairs.
After check-in, a few calls come down from the room about various things:
Hubby: "This isn't working" well that's because you haven't turned it on sir
Wifey: "Our suite is supposed to have these things, but we don't have any of these things" yes you do, we keep them - shock - in the cupboards
Wifey: "The wifi isn't working, your network is obviously broken" umm, we're in the centre of the city and surrounded by office and residential buildings; you should be able to see at least thirty wifi networks but your device isn't showing a single one. The problem is with your device - please try turning it off and on again
etc etc.
Two hours later I receive an incoming call while at the front desk dealing with the last two check-ins; Wifey has j

If you have not visited the hotel, would you go?
Just about to write notes to everyone I'd been close to to apologise for leaving like this. Have my suicide playlist put together. In a hotel room paid for with money I stole. There really is no going back from here. I can only hope if there's an afterlife it's forgiving and understanding of my circumstances. Is anyone else planning on leaving tonight?
title edit: no inexpensive places freed* up.
I wasn't sure whether my weekend would be freed until now and I've been wanting to head to Oxford for a while. While there were some places online that I had checked yesterday, everywhere reasonable and inexpensive seems to be fully booked now. I still want to have as much time there as possible, are the local accommodations free enough that they might happen to have a room for the weekend or should I just cut my losses and just go for a day trip instead? First time posting here, just wanted to know, help greatly appreciated. xx

There were people who were stabbing it with their steely knives, but they just couldn't kill the beast.
My name is Kyle Alexander and I am an amateur writer. Recently I have decided to investigate some of the allegedly haunted places here in the city of Seattle, Washington in hopes of getting a bit of inspiration. Regardless of what I might encounter, I am going to document my findings here for all of you to enjoy. I have changed the names of people and places in order to keep their identities safe. Here are my discoveries:
I was contacted by an employee of Hotel S. who claims she had been working there for a few years and was willing to give me an exclusive tour of the place in order to assist in my research. Hotel S. is known for its paranormal occurrences from its guests and many of them have had rather strange encounters throughout their stay. Unfortunately I was unable to interview any of these guests out of respect for the business.
My friend Chris and I arrived at the Hotel at approximately 9:30pm on a Friday night. The hotel sat on a busy street corner of downtown Seattle. Upon our arrival, I noticed the age of the building. It stood about 8 stories tall and had a sort of Victorian exterior design.
When we entered the building we were greeted by the front desk and asked for them to call our contact who I will refer to as 'V'. As we waited I couldn't help but notice the gorgeous interior of the Hotel. The lobby had a rather luxurious design to it that felt very welcoming. A large fireplace sat in the center, surrounded by several tables scattered amongst the floor.
We were soon greeted by our contact who led us down to her office where we had a brief interview. The first thing I noticed in her office was that there were several small trails of white alone on the floor. V told us that there was a strange slug infestation but she has yet to find them other than the trails they have left behind.
V covered several strange occurrences over her years working for the hotel:
One of them was during the time where she had to work overnights and would receive prank calls. She claimed to find them rather humorous but there was one that really disturbed her.
The phone rang and she looked at the caller ID which read: Trunk 1025. She claimed that she had no clue what Trunk 1025 meant. When V answered the phone she did her usual greeting but was left with no response. She hung the phone up and the calls continued. After about the 3rd attempt she finally got a response.
She said it was the voice
