A list of puns related to "Thin Thin Khaing"
As the title says, if we are cutting out one end of the body spectrum from modeling for being unhealthy, we should also cut out the other end for the same reason.
We have toned down the use of thin models, because it would be unhealthy for the majority of women to try to attain that body type, yet we praise companies as "woke" for using overweight plus sized models, even though being overweight comes with a multitude of health problems.
I would like to clarify that I'm not talking about all plus sized models. Most seem to be within a healthy weight range. However there are some companies I've seen using overweight women as models, and I would argue that normalizing this unhealthy body type is just as irresponsible.
Discuss.
In the last 24 hours Tether, the creator of USDT, has minted $1,500,000,000 worth of USDT out of thin air.
Nowhere it is documented where the money which was just created comes from and where it actually went.
Before 2019 Tether claimed 100% of its reserves would be backed by actual cash
Suddenly in April of 2019 Tether claimed only 74% of Tether would be backed by "cash and cash equivalents"
A pie chart (yes, this is how they want to proof their reserves) released by Tether in 2021 revealed that only 2,9% would be backed by cash
How much of it is actually backed of the $1,500,000,000 they somehow created in less than 24 hours? You can probably guess
Show how strong you are and take a wall instead
so this is a little rant. I think the health industry and these influencers compicating food and eating has made everyone so lost in "diet culture" (I hate to use this word for some reason but for lack of a better find) that we are being fed these ideas that you cant eat all of these so called "bad foods" daily and not get overweight. I don't believe that majority of americans are becoming obese because they eat sweet foods that they enjoy for breakfast, and hearty dinners. I think its because a lot of us eat a lot outside of our meals. snacking on chips, candy, fast food, late night fridge raids etc. just too many calories over all
One thing I realized when I started eating intuitively while losing weight is that I ate a lot of food I didn't really want nor need out of habit, and once I stopped, I have a lot of room to be able to eat a pastry and espresso for breakfast and still be a a calorie deficit. The thing that helped me was to learn to eat (obviously for nutrition too) foods I enjoy but to not eat food for some kind of rewarding dopamine feeling, to alleviate boredom or something like that because thats what messes you up and makes you overeat idk if that makes sense.
Iβm going through a bit of a phase where Iβve hyperfixated on Mount Everest and specifically the 1996 disaster. I went from knowing nothing about it a month ago, to watching Dateline episodes and reading Vanity Fair articles from the 90s in my spare time.
So, of course, I had to read the seminal popular book about Everest and the disaster. I just finished it earlier this morning, and was wondering if any redditors here have ever met or attended events for any of the people involved in the disaster?
Or if the other books about the disaster are as good as Into Thin Air? I know a lot of people seem to like Boukreevβs book The Climb, but has anyone read Beck Weathersβs book, or Mike Groomβs, or Lene Gammelgaardβs, or Lou Kasischkeβs?
In the meantime, Iβve started reading The Third Pole: Mystery, Obsession, and Death on Mount Everest about the 1924 expedition. Iβm a big history nerd, so I look forward to just delving in on this as much as I can.
It's honestly outrageous that the top bankers, billionaires and government officials have been recently ramping up their rhetoric against Crypto for absolutely no reason. I mean for fuck sake, central banks are going as far as to blame Crypto for a global financial crash that hasn't even happened yet.
Earlier today, Elizabeth Warren said
> Stablecoins pose risks to consumers & to our economy. Theyβre propping up one of the shadiest parts of the crypto world, DeFi, where consumers are least protected from getting scammed. Our regulators need to get serious about clamping down before it is too late.
She wants to "clamp down" on Crypto for giving the average citizen the slightest amount of privacy while completely ignoring the fact that banks have been printing trillions of dollars out of thin air to give to billionaires as bailouts because of the bills SHE SIGNED. Not even a fifth of the US stimulus packages actually went to working people and families.
They know they've fucked up the economy and people are already switching to better alternatives. No one wants to sit and watch while their money is being eroded because the banks' cant stop giving billionaires bailouts.
DeFi isn't the one that poses a risk to consumers or the economy and DeFi didn't bring 60% of the current dollars in circulation out of thin air. This is honestly infuriating how low politicians and bankers can sink these days trying to scapegoat Crypto for their own failures.
Harris promised a $13,500 raise for every teacher paid for by the federal government on the campaign trail. Biden promised to increase teacher salaries to a minimum of $60,000 on the campaign trail. Given that the majority of funding for education comes from state budgets, Congress would need to pass a bill and establish a permanent federal funding source dedicated to teacher salaries. Our leaders promised to do this in a pre-pandemic environment. Given labor supply shortages, now more than ever education workers need a raise. Wages have to go up for education to become more functional. It's the only way, especially in this environment. In my area alone, the majority of districts have 10-15% of their positions unfilled.
I'm not sure the exact mechanism to advocate, but we need to petition our leaders to include teacher salary increases, paid for by the federal government, in the blockbuster infrastructure bill they've been batting around for the last 6 months. In all likelihood, this is the only vehicle that Harris / Biden could stay true to their promise.
Write your Congress people, write your local and state union, blow up social media, etc. We need a fucking raise and our national leadership can give us one.
