A list of puns related to "The Vendor of Sweets"
Edited: Location updated. PSA! The recipe for Bowl of Sweet and Spicy Butternut Squash Soup is available at the Pact Supply Vendor located at Azarr's Arbor [&BIkHAAA=].
I know this is a nicety and we have bigger fish to fry, just sayin. Would be nice to know when the vendors reset so I do t waste caps twice fast traveling back only to see they still are reset.
That is all.
That was one thing that made D1 so amazing! Running around the tower to go see what the Factions (doubt they'll ever make a return), Crucible, and Vanguard Vendors were selling. ALONG WITH BANSHEE ON ARMS DAY! Where if you did the weapons testing you got to choose which rolls to receive on the weapon you worked with.
Now all D2 weekly reset is, is checking Eververse for cosmetics. Which don't get me wrong, they're cool and all. But it would feel like an actual weekly reset with Vendor rolls which came along with it.
THIS is something the community would ABSOLUTELY love.
Maybe have a weekly bounty tied to that weapon as well?
Let's say if Zavala was selling a Service Revolver with Rapid Hit/ Kill Clip you would have to get 250 Hand Cannon kills in Vanguard strike playlists OR maybe Ordeal Nightfalls.
And for armor, just miscellaneous things like: void kills, melee kills, super kills, etc.
I'm sure many other players have posted ideas similar to this and I know Bungie has A LOT on their plate. Seeing that they're a self publishing studio and all.
But I'm curious to hear what you all have to say on this. Do you think this a good idea? And should there be a "mini-test" on this put into the game to see how players enjoy it?
Edit 1: Thank you for the Gold!
Edit 2: Thank you for the spicy Platinum π
Edit 3: Thank you for the Silver! (I'm going to edit this after every reward I receive. Lul)
Edit 4: Thank you for the Silver!
Edit 5: Thank you for the Silver!
Iβm not really complaining, but it just feels a bit off to call this an expansion. When the only thing different about this one from old dlcs is that itβs drip fed instead of all right there.
Does anyone else feel this way?
let me explain.
i see alot of people complain about eververse and her pricings and bright dust economy. but in my humble opinion, it isnt about pricings or the silver/BD economy. it's about eververse being the only vendor each season with new (good looking) ornaments in a game where looking fabulous and doing space magic is one of the key selling points right ?
For example, if besides eververse, zavala has an themed ornament set tied to strikes/nightfalls you could earn, shaxx for the crucible and the drifter one for gambit(prime) i think alot of people would complain less about eververse itself.
Yes i can already hear you guys telling me, some of these vendors had ornaments in the past. but lets face it they all just looked bad compared to the eververse ones and almost no one was using them. What i'm trying to say is these vendors should give ornament sets tied to their activity, decently hard to earn AND be on par with the eververse ornaments.
Everyone in this game wants to look fabulous while shooting some bad guys, but if our only way is to spend ridiculious amounts of money or grind bright dust on 3 characters every week its logical everyone is going to freak out. So bungie give us more themed ornament sets we could earn throughout the season by playing strikes, crucible, gambit, raiding etc. (I know you are capable of doing it, look at the end of D1 where you gave us 4 or 5 amazing looking gear sets for old raids)
tl;dr what im trying to say is eververse is the only vendor each season with new and good looking armor everyone wants and since no other vendor has ornaments or armor which are on par with eververse, people will complain. If there was a way to earn different armor or ornament sets in other activities which are on par with how the eververse sets look, people would complain less, since eververse isnt the only way to earn/get amazing looking armor/ornaments.
p.s sorry for the broken english and layout, i dont usually post these kind of post, but wanted to give my 2c.
edit: i legit read all of the comments and the general consensus i can make of it, please correct me if i'm wrong. Most people agree eververse is just way to expensive, and this was kinda known already, yet some people are fine with eververse as it is. Also it seems most people would agree with me and would like to see other activities get ornaments or even brought back ornaments from past seasons. for some this would just be another thing to chase and
... keep reading on reddit β‘Black Armory and Jokers Wild are decent for what they are.
But they come with an extreme lack of new loot to chase.
What actual loot did we get with BA? 2 armor sets 12 weapons and 4 Exotic Weapons....Pinnacles don't count because that's seasonal for everyone.
And what about Jokers Wild? 1 Armor set (that has 4 versions) 12 more weapons and 3 Exotic Armor pieces?
Curse of Osiris by itself added 69 weapons that's not even including the 4 Exotics per class
I'm not counting the patrol zone because I don't think that fair. It had 2 completely new armor sets AND Ornaments for every vendor. 3 Factions, Vanguard, Crucible and Trials. And I haven't even gotten to the Strikes or PvP maps from just a single one of the previous models.
That's more armor in a single DLC than JW and BA combined...again I'm not counting IB because that's seasonal to everyone.
Look, the Forge is cool. Gambit Prime is cool. But it's not worth what we're losing imho.
Full disclosure I have a ton of playtime and have been playing since beta
PlayStation PC this is not coming from a place of hate and even kept up two accounts until Black Armory's ridiculous forge quests
Exactly like the legendary change, this would be waaaayyy too late.
"Risk of novel coronavirus is associated with recent travel to China, not groups of people, not certain ethnicities." -- Pima County Health Department propaganda
Pima County in Southern Arizona hosts a massive international gem and mineral show for 2.5 weeks around the first of February. This event is massive with 40 different locations. The 2020 show recently ended.
More than 4,500 vendors from around the world fly in the week before, set up shop, and leave the week after, most are Asian. Buyers fly in for the wholesale show itself, and there is another part open to the public. We are talking 40 shows, $120 million spent in the community, 65,000 of the public attending and interacting with these vendors.
This thing is so huge that many companies in the area make their entire income in a one-month period. Every hotel room and rental property for 200 sq miles is sold out months in advance. There are massive tents erected where Asian vendors sell jewelry, gemstones, fossils and gifts to retailers from around the world.
Entire hotels are transformed into a market with each room being their accommodations and a shop stall. There are dozens of these markets all over the county.
I worked for a company that sold conference draping and they worked the gem show exclusively -- they had no other conferences or events that they provided backdrops. That is how big this thing is. There are electricians, display case people, signage contractors -- hundreds of companies that work only the gem show. 90% of our customers were from China, the others were Asian.
This is the next area to watch starting March 1. The gem show is such an enormous economic powerhouse, no doubt they will keep cases under wraps.
About 2am a guest calls down about a problem with their room. It's a pretty serious problem - one that warrants an immediate room move and very likely a full refund for their stay. Unfortunately, since they booked prepaid through a 3rd party, I can't immediately process any compensation for them. I know my GM will want to make things right with the guests, so I include her business card with their new keys.
One hour later...
I get the expected phone call from the 3rd party's guest help desk. All is normal and standard until I hear her say "...your manager has already approved this refund, so I just need..."
I interrupted her. "Hold up. My manager already approved this refund?"
"Yes"
"You spoke to [manager's name] and she approved the refund?"
"Yes, so if you will just..."
"No. You will have to speak with her directly."
"Can you transfer me to her?"
"No. She's not in her office. It's 3am. Call back in 6 hours"
"Oh... Well, if you could let her know..."
"I will let her know you called. And I will let her know you lied in her name..."
"Well, it was the guest who said she approved the refund."
Liar. Freakin' liar.
I hate 3rd parties so much.
They didnβt jump down over the tree. Who are you people?
I know its crazy, but alot of popular weapons, armors and plans sell regularly for over 25k caps or more on reddit trading sites!
As a dedicated merchant character, i have found my sweet spot selling in game at my merchant machines, I sell good 3 stars at usually 1500-2000 caps, really good 3 stars at 3000, great 3 stars at 3500-4000 and absolute god rolls around 5000 caps each.
and still, people will message me to complain of high prices! I do give deals to people who seem nice about it though.
We can make 1400 caps PER DAY by simply selling weapons looted from enemies in about 20 minutes by server hopping, so i think my prices are fair...
I tried long ago to sell stuff in game at reddit trading site prices, and nothing ever sold at that much, but as soon as you post anything on the reddit trading post, you get people offering crazy high prices and amazing trades
So next time you see a AAE handmade or bloodied Faster swing speed +1 strength meat hook, for 5,000 caps in game at a vendor, consider yourself lucky!
Spider, a good written character, helps you trough out Forsaken, Sells useful stuff, but most importantly: He comes back every now and then. In Black Armory he is used like twice, and in Jokerβs Wild he is used for the allegiance quest as an character between the Drifter and the Vanguard. Vendors/Characters like Hawthorne, Ada-1 (Hopefully will be used again) and all planetary vendors become useless after the DLC they are released with ends, expect for Spider. Really wish they would quit this and have characters like Ana return in future DLCβs instead of being left out in the dirt. The Drifter is also a good character but heβs like a shaxx or a zavala.
EDIT: Wtf iβve been on reddit for 2 weeks and this post already 1.2k upvotes! thanks!
In one of the Directors Cut posts, Luke Smith mentioned that seasonal activities and their loot will be removed from the game at the end of their seasons going forward, and the loot would later be repurposed. Right now, one of the biggest problems with Destiny is a lack of loot in core modes. Nobody is grinding strikes for the vanguard weapons, or still looking for that god rolled Anonymous Autumn. Even worse than this are Ikora and the faction vendors, who are completely empty. Instead of removing loot from the game once a season ends, we should use that loot to make some of these vendors and core activities relevant again.
Imagine if, after SoO ended, menagerie was removed from the game. We wouldnβt want all of those guns and armor sets to just disappear. Instead, that loot should be placed wherever it makes sense. For example, with menagerie, the leftover loot could go to the various destinations, seeing as many of the guns come from there. Black Armory weapons could move to the gunsmith, giving us a vendor refresh and making him relevant again. Reckoning weapons could move to normal Gambit if Reckoning had to be removed.
There is no reason to remove loot from the game when lack of loot is a big problem and the reason that the game has that βa mile wide but an inch deepβ feel.
Edit to clarify a few things:
I donβt dislike the idea of unique, timegated loot. I just feel like timegated loot should be icing on the cake, not the whole game. When the entire core game feels lacking in loot, timegated loot seems stupid and unsustainable from a development perspective, especially when bungie says that the annual pass was hard on bungie employees.
I guess what I proposed is similar to what Luke Smith outlined in the Directors Cut posts. I just hope it isnβt a trials/faction rally situation where βtemporarily removedβ lasts much longer than we anticipated. A couple seasons is a LONG time in destiny, although it seems short in retrospect.

Notes:
-The bot has a chance to spawn at any location on this map. The most well-known spots are near Charleston Station and Lady Janet's Soft Serve, but I've personally confirmed that it can spawn at all of these locations. Some spots may or may not have better chances than others.
-The bot can have a few other semi-uncommon items that either have spawn points on the map or can be crafted (Clean Spacesuit Helmet, Ranger Hat Clean, Wool Fisherman's Cap, Skiing Purple and White Outfit, Civil War clothing, Halloween costume pieces).
-Once you find the bot, you can keep rejoining the server and its inventory will re-roll new items. You can take turns holding it with a friend, leaving and rejoining the server.

Make the D2 Vendors Great Again!
^(remember D1 vendors?! good times.)
Here is a MASSIVE list of all the possible weapons and armor from the legendary vendor as of right now. At the bottom is the source from my datamining. Hope you all enjoy this!

When I got off the subway, I headed to Castle Clinton already knowing that it was the place to officially get a boat ride to the Statue of Liberty. When I was heading there, I was confronted by 2 Gray Line salesmen. The first one asked me repeatedly if I wanted to head to the statue. I didn't make eye contact and ignored him. He kept following me for a few seconds until he gave up and called me a "cock sucking pussy". A couple of seconds later, the second one came in front of my face and did the same thing to me. I also ignored her and she shoved me. I then told her to not touch me. Then she proceeds to tell me "Well I just did." After that, I went to an NYPD officer and told him the situation. He told me he couldn't do anything about it and it made me frustrated. I decided to keep going however since I didn't want to waste any more time dealing with these people.
It's ridiculous that even if you try to ignore these guys, some of them will still try to make a scene with you. It's even more ridiculous that they're allowed to do this. These people (and Gray Line) are just absolute scum and my respect for them has dropped even lower (as if I had respect for them in the first place).
I am getting tired of my arsenal looking like someone cobbled it up in his garage, or scrounged it from a scrapyard. Can we have more of vanilla D1 or D2 style weapons, please? Armament ornamentation has overstayed its welcome, I feel.
There are a lot of useless Armorsmith and Weapon Vendors across the game world. Whats some ideas on how Anet could make them more useful and meaningful for endgame gameplay?
I am interested in reading your ideas
It drives me crazy, that wasn't a feature last patch. Please Nikita Claus, fix this, it is all i want for christmas.
In almost every post talking about the lack of a vendor reset, there's always someone who says something along the lines of "What's the point, no one uses vendor gear anyways". But I feel like that is the exact reason why we needed a refresh. The old vendor gear isn't going to magically get better, but if they added new weapons with the ability to roll as god rolls, it would be miles better than what we have now. In D1, some of the best weapons came from rank-up packages like Shadow Price, Palindrome, Hawksaw, LDR, Longbow, Hung Jury, Wormwood, etc.
Here are some random rolled weapons we're still missing:
Any LFR other than Crooked Fang
Kinetic 540 Pulse Rifle
Energy 450 Pulse Rifle
Kinetic 720 Auto Rifle
Kinetic 260 Scout Rifle
Kinetic Slug Shotgun
Kinetic 300, 360, 450, or 3 round burst Sidearm
Energy 260 Sidearm
Energy 750 SMG
Even outside of that, there are current weapon archetypes that can't roll with certain perks, for example, an energy 150 hand cannon with rapid hit, rampage, kill-clip, multikill clip, swashbuckler, demolitionist, etc.
I know this conversation is getting tiring for both sides, but I just wanted to put this out there. Vendors could be a huge part of gear acquisition, like they were in D1, and it's sad seeing them be written off as not worth putting effort into.
There's a pattern as of late that has us interacting with races that were previously exclusively enemy factions. It would be wicked cool to get a wizard who decided it would be more profitable to have light willingly given to it. Said wizard could be Calus' new Hive Shadow, providing us with contraband while simultaneously making Eris tremendously uncomfortable.
We already know that the Hive are tremendously intelligent, and clearly capable of speaking human languages (Oryx), so I see no reason why it wouldn't work.
I remember before maintenance today my clan (lv. 40) vendor sell name famas with max roll on headshot damage (10%) but now it 9%
Also max roll weapon damage glove? Right now it 12.9%
Max roll AR damage in tactical Mk16? Now 14%
I don't remember devs talking about this. But if they did, you can tell me.
