What's the casting director overlap between OC and Twilight?
I was just thinking about how this could be a nice way to join the whole universe together, and then you could choose which film or series you want to by and play
I just reread the Twilight series for I don't even know what time and did a rewatch of the films. The universe there is so rich and lovely and when I read/watch, I'm totally consumed. But now that I'm done, I feel empty. I watched Breaking Dawn Part 2 twice in 24 hours. I love the magic of supernatural fiction -- especially those set juxtaposed to our real world. It may sound silly...but it helps me feel and believe that magic may exist. So I guess what I'm after is something to read that will help fill that void. I'm in a reread kick right now, sort of revisiting novels from my adolescence that truly fostered my love of reading, but I'm also not opposed to reading something new if it's gripping enough. I'm vacillating between rereading the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead, the House of Night series by P. C. and Kristin Cast, or the Thirst series by Christopher Pike. Any suggestions on which series might fill my sad, empty heart are welcome! Thanks so much.
I was just looking to buy the movies. Not sure if its always been this price or if its on special right now. But its not a deal to pass up.
I get it. A lot of people dislike the Twilight Saga. It's a series that was written mostly for teenage girls or the "dark romance" inclined.
However, I found that there was an amazing potential to the series.
The Vampires, for one, are pretty badass. Let's look passed the sparkly skin and enhanced physical appearance, to the skills underneath.
They're stupid strong. We see even the weakest of vampires possess strength several times that of the strongest humans. Edward Cullen was able to stop a spinning van with one hand effortlessly, and he's not the strongest Vampire in the series.
They're hecka fast. Vampires are seen easily outrunning cars, sometimes moving faster than the human eye can even see. This speed also applies to their reaction and perception of time.
If that didn't make them totally epic, they also don't sleep. You know how sweet that would be? I hate having to sleep. You know how much more you could accomplish and see and do without having to sleep? SO much more!
And sure, their sparkly skin is a bit cringy, but let's not forget that it's not all just to melt teenage girls' hearts. Their skin sparkles in sunlight because it is a type of diamond. Their skin is incredibly durable, making them nigh invincible.
On top of all that, some Vampires even have cool special powers, like the ability to read minds, see the future, influence the elements, and inflict horrible mental anguish. And that's only namimg a few.
Honestly, Twilight's Vampires are super cool and almost resemble superheroes.
That's not mentioning the Shape-Shifters, a tribe of Native Americans that can transform into massive wolves that are as fast and strong as Vampires, just with huge fangs and claws and a hive mind telepathic link among the entire pack.
There's also true werewolves, but they're only mentioned briefly and never seen, so we can only speculate how cool they are.
Unfortunately, the series focuses mostly on the dark romance aspect and love triangle more than anything else. And I haven't been able to find any good fanfiction that focuses on the powers and abilities of Vampires. Most of the fics I've seen are pure romance or smut.
It's sad, that the Twilight Saga's potential is lost on so many in the fanfiction scene.
The werewolf transformations were fucking sick. The music was great. The cinematography was beautiful. The locations were all stunning to look at. The fight scenes with the vampire speed and the werewolves were all fantastic.
The romance is really cheesy, the acting is really poor, the writing is bad, but look at this shit. Tell me that wasnβt dope as fuck.
Breaking Dawn 2 commentary is supposed to be out in September, this being the last day of the month I'm hoping it's out early enough that I can watch it today.
The shame I have posting this is unbearable but it needs to be said
I adore the twilight saga, especially the first two movies.
I've read all the books, graphic novels, etc etc. I started reading the books and watching all the movies from a young age and they've thoroughly had an impact on who I am today. I discovered what romantic love was, what it felt to be emotionally involved with fictional characters, I would've never discovered this and my love for books if it hadn't been for this saga. I remember stealing my mothers book light thingy and reading it into the pitch of night. When I wasn't reading or watching the stories of Bella and Edward I was dreaming about their stories, of them getting through the worst possible situations to be together. I later became and artist, writer, musician, just so I could one day give some person the same amount of joy those stories did.
Now I'm much older, I've heard the criticisms and complaints towards the story, it's cheesiness, etc. And whenever I reread the story I can't deny that the story has its flaws. But even after all these years, I still find fondness in my heart for what it represents, what it taught me, and what it helped me find in myself.
So, thanks Twilight Saga, you really were a better love story than yourself.
I've been a long time player of Twilight Struggle. It's a 2-player card-driven tabletop strategy game with a Cold War theme that has been ported to Steam. It was formerly ranked as the #1 strategy game on Board Game Geek and it's still in the top 10.
I am a very good player, but after awhile, I started to grow tired of how serious many people took the game (including myself). So I embarked on a grand social experiment. I decided to create the most ridiculous character ever. A character that no human being could possibly take seriously. His name was Turdface Bob.
This is the true story of Turdface Bob: Behind the Farts.
The Birth of Turdface Bob
When I first created Bob, my only real plan for him was that heβd have an unusual predilection for using the word βturdβ as a verb ("let's turd it up!"). Bob was also created as a shield against abusive players, which I had encountered many of. You know these players; the people who start insulting you and calling you profane names just because they are losing a game. And no surprise, Bob did encounter many jerks.
It was always funny when players tried to insult Bob, because his name is already TURDFACE BOB! Like β¦ what could you possibly say that would be more insulting than that?
Bob mostly responded to insults with PG and PG-13 comebacks.
>Angry Player: You stupid c@#$face. Go f@#$ yourself you stupid c@@#s@#@ing cheater!
>
>Turdface Bob: I bet you really enjoying enjoying your mom's farts? You seem like you're really into momfarts.
>
>Angry Player: Shut up you stupid f#@$face!
Pretty tame compared to the stuff compared to other players and mostly stuff revolving around "momfarts" and "dadfarts". One player threatened to rape him. Others called him names like F-face. Some told him to die and go to hell. There are a lot of psycho TS players out there!
While there were many bad players, Bob also encountered many friendly players who enjoyed his antics. He developed friendships with several players.
Then there were the rest; the people who didnβt have much of a reaction to Bob one way or another. The vast majority of players fell into this category. Most people didnβt respond at all to Bob. And the ones that did were mostly of the βlolβ and βwtf?β variety.
It started out pretty simple.
>Bob: What's crappenin', mah Turds and Turdettes?! This is Turdface B turdin' it up from Britaslava! I'm poopin' up the Danube! Are you strong enough to win The Golden Turd Champio
... keep reading on reddit β‘Accidentally binged watched the entire twilight saga extended editions today and my oh my those extra minutes really do matter! Finishing breaking dawn right now as I type, I really canβt wait for midnight sun!! It has to be coming out soon!! What are your thoughts?
Iβm on a bit of a vampire kick right now and Iβm watching all the vampire shows/movies that I like. And as Iβm sitting here watching I canβt help but say Vampire diaries is so refreshing to not have the main girl torn between a vamp and some other creature. Granted sheβs torn between two vamps but I like that she sticks to her species as she wrestled. Any one else have any things that makes the vd series stand out above all the other vampire craze?
I've recently watched the entirety of the Ju-On Saga, from the short films Katsumi and 4444444444 to this year's sidequel, and i have to say i LOVE this series, it's got everything from insane cinematography, crazy atmospheric horror and just general dread all around (minus the newest installment, which was very predictable).
what's your opinion on the films? what about Kayako, Takeo and Toshio? and if another installment were to be made, which director would you choose to tackle the project?
