I was bored as hell last night after work and saw this on Prime while mindlessly scrolling and decided to play it while I relaxed on my phone.
Man that was a genuinely fun film and it was such an enjoyable adventure.
I was pleasantly shocked with how engaging the story and characters were. Shia, Dakota, Thomas, Bruce and especially Zack were so great. I don't even know why but I had slight tears of joy I'm assuming whenever the credits rolled.
I'm not sure what I'm even looking for but if you have any recommendations similar to this film, I'd absolutely love to hear them.

If anyone has seen this movie. I just watched it and there is a scene where The Stable Song plays and it caught me off guard and was so beautiful I thought I was gonna cry. Jesus. Highly recommend.

Well, I like this comedy/drama esque movies preferably about a journey of some sort and with a lot of character development. Other examples of similar films I also enjoyed are Little Miss Sunshine and Swiss Army Man. I know that perhaps I didn't give much info but if anyone can recommend anything like this, please do. When it comes to road trip based plots, the list of films is endless. From classics like “Little Miss Sunshine” or “The Bucket List” to the lovable “Easy Rider” or “My Own Private Idaho”, we’ve seen and enjoyed that similar straightforward plot. A plot where characters meet and discover each other's inner-self while giving the audience a “feel good” vibe towards the end. So even though the plot doesn’t provide us anything new, The Peanut Butter Falcon cherishes the art of film-making and brings to screen, some heartily written characters.
Starring Shia LaBeouf, Dakota Johnson, and my personal favorite, debutant, Zack Gottsagen, this is a film about pursuing dreams, and valuing friendships in life. If we check IMDb, the plotline reads, “Zak runs away from his care home to make his dream of becoming a wrestler come true.” But the film is certainly much more than that. Zak, (Zack Gottsagen) who has down syndrome, runs away from the rehab to meet his idol, Salt Water Redneck. Being a huge fan of the the sport, he wants to go to the school where Redneck teaches wrestling. Zak co-incidentally meets Tyler (Shia LaBeouf), who is also running away from his people as they both set off on an amazing journey of friendship, dreams, passions and love. They also meet a lot of good characters on their way but detailing any more plot than this would spoil the experience for you. I vouch for this film!
Shia LaBeouf, who is today infamous for his tattoo, has already convinced everyone that he is a man with a gifted talent for acting. Be it Honey Boy, Transformers, Fury, or any of his film, he never fails to charm us with his skills and the sheer energy he puts into his character. He plays Tyler, the rough guy who is running away by fighting his colleagues and is debarred of a happy past. And boy, does he not make us fall in love with him! Shia LaBeouf is still one of the most under-utilized actors out there and possesses the ability to carry a whole film alone on his shoulders. But luckily, he does not have to do that here as we have our debutant Zack Gottsagen playing the sweet Zak, who makes sure you have a smile throughout the film.

What an amazing movie. It shows compassion among fellow humans and understanding with the disabled. Previously my favorite movie was Shawshank Redemption but this one has taken over. It’s free on Amazon prime and I highly suggest everyone watches it. Based off of Mark Twain it tells a modern story that will truly warm your heart. If you haven’t already please take a couple hours and watch this film that displays compassion and thoughtfulness. Shia labeouf is masterful in his portrayal of a “down on his luck” fisherman. Absolutely recommend 25 out of 10.

These indie movies really suit him, and you can see he enjoys doing them. When I saw him in Honey boy, I was amazed how ragged he looked like. The hair made him look 20yrs older, and he carried the role amazingly. I mostly liked his performances, but now I think this is what he should continue cause you can see he is giving it all.

2019 was a comeback year for Shia LaBeouf. Not only did he star in these two heartwarming stories, he wrote this semi-biographical film and then played the character representing his own father. Both movies are great and I'm looking forward to what Shia will bring in the future.
Honey Boy- Watched 07/03/20

This film is about a young boy actor, living with his alcoholic father. This movie is tense. The kid is pretty likable and he acts like a wild child in his tv show, but in real life he was forced to grow up too early. I found LaBeouf's performance is legitimately terrifying. Maybe I have daddy issues but whole time I was waiting for something dreadful to happen to the kid. The performances are great and if you enjoy dramatic family stories you will enjoy this movie.

This film is more of adventure than the previous, but still a coming of age drama. Zak, a person with down-syndrome, escapes his assisted living facility and his care-taker to pursue his dream to become a pro wrestler. The acting is top-notch in this one. There a funny moments and just sweet moments. I think everyone would enjoy this movie, I recommend for all.

Just streamed it on Amazon Prime, it was a great heart warming movie. 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. Some fun cameos, won’t spoil it. I feel like I haven’t heard the wrestling community talk about it— have you seen it?
