A list of puns related to "The One Percent Doctrine"
This teacher read word for word what some seventy smuck said recently about the reasoning for the dark skin curse. In that statement that asshat of a seventy stated, we don't know why God put that reference in the BoM.
The person who asked the question was taken a back for being denied any answer to their question. I'd will also add this is a person who has been struggling with some doctrines.
I did have a chat with him after the class and backed up his concerns. The big consensus between us was that the Mormon church has been wrong in the past and why can't they simply acknowledge that.
p.s. I took the sacrament with my left hand today, fuck you Oaks.
In reviewing the gospel topics essays I quickly noticed a missing topic: Adam God. The church spent untold amounts of time, energy, and man power to construct reasonable (to some) answers and explanations to various controversial topics. Everything from polyandry to race and the priesthood was covered, hairy topics for sure. But is not telling that Adam God either wouldnβt or couldnβt be reasoned or explained? Personally, I feel the reason is that this topic is the silver bullet to the LDS model of a prophet. If a prophet of God can misidentify the very God he represents and supposedly receives direct revelation from, how can we ever trust the prophetic role again? I think the leaders of the church are unable to come up with a satisfactory answer to this problem because there is no satisfactory answer other than the the truth. And the truth would undermine their authority.
My wife is PIMI and her PIMI friend is complaining about the schools and how she wants to pull her child out as he has so many β Insecuritiesβ and it hit me that she and the WT are causing these and reinforcing them daily if not weekly. Her son is about 13 and has a hard time functioning. I then realized how screwed up my youth and school experience was ! I hate the WT!
That is definitely the most culty belief I can pinpoint in the church. The church teaches that it has a monopoly on keeping families together in the afterlife, and if you abandon the church, you will be eternally separated from everyone you love after death.
The amount of fear mongering and emotional manipulation that goes into play with this doctrine could fill textbooks, I'm sure, though I'm no psychologist.
"We won't be a forever family anymore!!!" - something nearly every exmormon has heard before.
This doctrine is sickening, and it is evil.
This doctrine is literally designed to divide families. Any organization that has a core doctrine that divides families is NOT of God.
And it is the #1 reason in my mind why the Corporation of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a cult.
Also, policing members underwear and allowing grown men to hold private interviews with minors in which they ask sexually charged questions is a big red flag as well.
There is a theme that arises once in while amongst mormons TCOJSOLDS'ers about how special is the Book of Mormon and how it restored lost truths.

But I cannot find even one doctrine in the Book of Mormon that wasn't already being talked about by someone else prior to it being written.
So here is the challenge.
Please give me one unique doctrine that is contained in the Book of Mormon that was not already talked about by some other religious leader prior to its publication or found in the Bible (OT/NT).
I want to use this as an argument with my mormon friends Friend of the faith that shall not be named. But I want to test out this idea first here with all of you heathens.
Note to tbms: dont debate history or doctrine with exmos.... They know more than you do, a lot more.
You go listen to Larsen or rfm or reel or Vogel....you don't want to debate those guys, you'll lose.
The TBM me would have put "Joseph translated the 531 page Book of Mormon in 65 days" at the top of the list. Coupled with the Tad Callister argument of BoM complexity. I thought that, even someone with no faith, could see how amazing this was. After investigation, this fact can be dismissed.
So, you're discussing the church with a TBM and they say "??????", and you say "you have a point there, that's hard to explain away". What is the ?????
Both, the ignorant of collapse as well as the secretly knowing are following the Shock Doctrine trajectory, by, when citizens are emotionally and physically stricken by disasters or upheavals, then they are getting really motivated for decisive action; Fleeing or restructuring the fabric of society.
It may be true that any source of orgasms may keep you sane, just like how any food may keep you alive. This doesnβt mean that any sex is the sex you would like the best or make you the most fulfilled or alive or joyful. Just like many other facets of life partner choice, when you choose a sex partner for life you should have a sense of what options are out there. You should have tried some different dishes and learned what really thrills or fulfills you. Behavior and style in bed vary widely person to person, and you may like some styles more than others or click better with some than others. Some adaptation can occur, sure. But itβs sad that Mormonism reduces sex to just a generic act that will be fine with anyone you might marry. Itβs just not true, but in Mormonism itβs the blind leading the blind.
Sex can be a great source of satisfaction and joy and excitement in life. Itβs not just an itch to scratch like mormonism makes it out to be by telling you that you donβt need to know anything about it when choosing a partner for life.
Love, love, love the drama this causes TBMs. Yesterday after the sealing/civil thing got announced several prominent TBMs were complaining that in a few more changes it won't even be the same church. I replied, "I hope so." TMBs identify with superiority and pride in elevating themselves above others. Start taking a little bit of that away and they get down right cranky. I love it. I've got my vitamins and popcorn. I'm ready for more;)
EDIT: ENDORSED and qualified official theologians
Please tell me the Catholic Church doesn't have the same thing as (ugh!) FAIRmormon: something amateur, unofficial, deniable, yet still somehow the best thing out there when it comes to rationalising the claims of authenticity for a religion that happens to run at least 3 accredited universities?
Has this persisted for the entire known life of Smithianity?
Itβs true. Families can be together forever except families with any member who is apostate, gay, inactive, not a full tithe payer, not righteous enough, etc. So, just about every βrealβ family is ruled out.
Lets say a roofer. In order to be a respected, worthy, righteous man in the church, you MUST be a roofer. No matter your personal interests. No matter your talents or abilities or natural gifts. No matter your intelligence or level of education (no disrespect to roofersπ) No matter what YOU want to be, in order to be a faithful Mormon, you MUST be a roofer. And not only that, you must revel in it, thrive in it and put on the outward appearance of happiness doing it. You must devote your life to it, day in and day out. You must go to meetings multiple times a week where they talk all about how you might be roofing wrong and how to do it right and better. Other, older men give talks about how they've been a roofer for 50 years and its been the joy of their life. Your individual needs and desires and aspirations are of no consequence. If you are born a man, the entirety of your childhood is spent being constantly taught that you will be a roofer, and if you don't want to be a roofer, you are not following God's plan.
That's what it's like for women in TSCC. The only acceptable "choice" for your life is being a mother. Its a one size fits all vocation, no matter what your shape. It's why Utah leads the nation for antidepressant use among women.
