I've been thinking about this all morning. Let's follow Andy Samberg's character through a number of the songs.

He's just a young man living in a small apartment, messin around with friends and watchin sports all the time. He doesn't have much else in his life.
>2: I Just Had Sex
He gets into his first real relationship and loses his virginity. It doesn't go well. He's very immature, begins crying after, and he thinks the whole thing was way more important than it actually was. He's still a kid at heart but now he's moving into a more adult life.
>3: Jizz in my Pants
After his first sexual encounter, he wants more. He goes clubbing constantly. Meets a lot of women. He's very physically attractive so he has no problem in this regard. However, losing his virginity gave him a false sense of extreme confidence and he overestimates himself. Premature ejaculation rears its ugly head and ruins his chances with numerous women. He goes into depression and begins hiding in his apartment with his friends again, where eventually...
>4: I'm on a Boat.
He wins a free boat ride for three. His immense excitement makes it clear that he's never been on a boat before, and by God, he loves it. He feels something he's never had before, a real desire, a need to go back to the water. He goes home, but he knows his life is missing something.
>5: Jack Sparrow.
Some time later, he realizes he has a talent for music. He begins recording an album, and actually gets famous musician Michael Bolton involved. However, Bolton turns out to be obsessed with the Pirates of the Caribbean films. He's very obnoxious with it and annoys the hell out of Samberg and Taccone. However, his constant references to the Pirates movies gives Samberg the urge to watch them again. He binge-watches the entire series, and his passion for the ocean is reinvigorated. He sees these wars on the sea, raging storms, these men of the water who could not feel alive any other way.
He can't take his boring life anymore. He needs to do something drastic. He's physically fit. He's young enough. He has no wife, no family. He joins the Navy. He's a natural. He gains strength, a sense of self, real confidence. He serves his country with honor and pride. After years, after becoming a strong and respectable man, he goes home. He leans into his music. He gains fans, he gets rich, he moves into a mansion. Eventually, he meets a beautiful redhead...

So I play destiny completely free since I am a broke child and I am on Titan doing the bounties and such to complete the flashpoint and get a free exotic, but I also had gotten the relics of a golden age quest a while back. So a chest spawns in saying some servitors are watching it or whatever and so I go out of the room and start gunning them down. I down one and it drops an engram. At first I thought it was an uncommon engram cause it looked pretty green but LO AND BEHOLD IT WAS THE EXOTIC ENGRAM I NEEDED FOR THE QUEST and I almost failed November right then and there

Excellent show. I knew it would be fun, and it was EXACTLY what I expected, which was totally fine and a really big thrill. People have never really given Lonely Island enough credit. Their albums are great, and while the shorts are legendary, its so commonplace that people do sometimes forget how truly revolutionary that stuff was. Was cool to experience it with other fans.
Highlights were definitely the Bash Brothers, We're On Stage (with Seth Meyers introducing them), I'm So Humble, Finest Girl, Lazy Sunday with Chris! Reba with Kenan! So much amazing stuff.
Did I have criticisms? Sure. For nearly $100 tickets, an 80 minute show seemed A LITTLE short. Also, as a major fan, it sucked that it was mostly digital short and hit based. Its what I assumed, but I love their deep cuts. Stuff like Japan, Rocky, Perfect Saturday, so many others would be amazing to hear and are vastly underrated. I also think it would have made the show less solely based on watching music videos, which admittedly it became a lot of the time. Also, while it makes sense, it was super focused on Andy like way more than I thought. So many songs are just totally him, and I know he's front and center but I think stuff like Ras Trent and other stuff where he's the only one could be cut at the expense of group pieces.
But again, I loved the night. Thats if I'm nitpicking. It was a fantastic night and anyone thats a fan should go. So happy to get that.
