A list of puns related to "Lorne Michaels"
I know Conan has told the story a million times of how he got this gig, but can we just appreciate the balls it took Lorne to back this guy to the NBC bigwigs? Yes, Conan was an established writer by the time he got the job but he was still a nobody in terms of performing in front of a national audience and Lorne put his faith in him to take over a well regarded late night program headed by Letterman. I'm not sure that this level of risk has ever been taken by anyone before or after in the comedy world.
With the rare exception (Barry and others I mightβve missed) it seems like whenever a cast member does their own show he has some sort of producer/executive credit. Anyone know if a cast member has ever spoken about this? Or is he someone that they go to to get a show idea they have kickstarted? Was watching the new Michael Che show and I noticed he has EP credit but that would make more sense if it was an NBC/Peacock show rather than an HBO max one, but I wasnβt there during the negotiations so idk.
If I was in Lorneβs shoes I would never retire... heβs got a sweet gig. But last time he left he almost killed the show because there was no one to take his place. Usually in corporate entities there is a line of succession where future CEO replacements are being groomed continually. Do you think thereβs anyone Lorne has in mind to take his place when he finally does retire to Amagansett?
Lorne is 76 and the show will soon be 50 years old. He will either retire or die in the role. Who is his heir apparent? Or will he be replaced by a team?
They would bring fun energy, different type of hose, probably has been in a sketch before, musical guest 14 times,
We are due for Dave Grohl. I think itβd be a blast.
Okay, give me your host!
Edit: WOW, this post blew up!!! Thanks for participating evrryone. All I can say is SNL, if youβre reading or watching, USE THIS.
Two titans of industry who have defined themselves through their revolving doors of players and performers for at least the past four decades?
Who's with me?
Desperately, from the bottom of my heart, all I really want in this life is a no-holds-barred, maybe even slightly tipsy personal narrative, beginning from the moment they first laid eyes on her, the yoga, the cucumbers, the escalating tan, the "wait, is she Catholic ...?" leading up to the wedding, to Christmas 2020 when it all began, then her birthday during the Capitol Riots a week and change later, to right now. Put it in a time capsule for our future generations if you must/if future generations will even exist anymore lmao life is bleak.
I just need these words to be spoken by these people (you can feel free to DM if you want, hey you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. On that note, hire me)
Muchos gracias, hermosos pepinos.
HOLD!
Can anyone help me find the episode where they reference Austin Powers being a Lorne Michaels impression and Henry says he "remembers that from IMDB?" Thanks!

Like itβs one of the most anticipated episodes of SNL in quite a few years and it gets delayed by college football.
I think Saturday night live fans as well as people randomly tuning in are pretty much in agreement that the song playing in the background of the Negotiator sketch with Regina King was pretty catchy. But <Match Game audience > "HOW CATCHY WAS IT!!"
Main cast (i.e. repertory player) according to NBC:
