The actors and actresses were perfect for their roles, the musical score was and still is considered to be the best musical score ever. It was the highest grossing film trilogy for a very long time. it created millions of fans of Tolkien and are still loved by many to this day.

From the T-Virus leak in the opening to the Laser Room to the moments with the hordes of zombies. Those moments were far more tense than almost anything in RE: WTRC. RE (2002) was just a better made film for the time and one could argue that it COULD fit in the timeline with the Resident Evil games. Whereas WTRC is just a collection of Easter Eggs and scenes from the games recreated without any context behind those scenes.
