A list of puns related to "The Fast and the Furious (soundtrack)"
Fast 10: Your Seatbelts
And its called "Fast Ten, Your Seatbelt"
Sorry for more Supra spam, but I'm interested to see if anyone agrees or if I'm completely deluded.
When asking yourself what made the A80 so great and popular, immediately you think of the 2JZGTE and the orange Supra Paul Walker drove in F&F. Everyone remembers that orange sports car from F&F, car enthusiast or not.
You don't think of it's great handling characteristics, or rich racing pedigree, because it had neither of those two. The A80/ 2JZGTE sucked that bad in Motorsports Toyota actually had to resort to using a Celica engine to try keep up with the far superior GTR at the time, to which it couldn't and was eventually retired from Motorsport all together.
The 2JZGTE is only considered a great engine because of the aftermarket. It was the aftermarket who realized the drivetrains great potential for making good reliable power. I'm not taking anything away from Toyota because they make brilliant engines, but so do BMW.
Toyota was never going to spend so much time and money engineering an entirely new straight 6, when majority of Earth's population don't care about cars anymore. For every 10 people who want a "3JZ", there are a 1000 who don't care and just want to drive to work and back reliably.
Hell, even the Japanese people don't care anymore as 95% of them use public transportation and the remaining 5% drive eco cars. So what was the best option? Go to a proven brilliant straight 6 manufacturer; BMW.
The main critisism of the A90 is it uses a BMW drivetrain, when on paper it makes the same power as the 2JZGTE did anyway. The closed deck B58 will prove just as reliable as the 2JZGTE. Add in that the chassis was engineered by Tetsuya Tada, the same guy who engineered the GT86, you've got an absolutely brilliant car. The interior is also done by BMW, one of the best interior manufacturers out there. There is absolutely no way Toyota would of been able to match BMWs interior quality...
In every single way the A90 is absolutely a better car than the A80: fact.
When you break it down and think about it, the A80 really isn't that great of a car. It's so hyped up but why? I just don't understand it. I see shit about the A90 not living up to the Supra name, how? The A80 and A90 are almost identical, what more do people want?
TLDR; A80 and A90 are essentially the same car, but the A90 has 20 years of technological advancement and is without doubt a better car and does the Supra name justice.
Why do many characters seem to lack these supernatural abilities at the start of the series but gain them as it progresses? Is magic is only now coming back ala Shadowrun or Game of Thrones, what is causing it to come back?
Actually, the year that these movies take place, the modern day, is when magic came back in Shadowrun... do the Fast and the Furious and Shadowrun share the same universe? This would also explain the rise of ridiculously impossible technologies as technology boomed at the same time.
Also I suppose that cars moving in an impossible manner could be metal-bending or possibly... auto-bending as well and not actual telekenesis. But something obviously more than human is going on.
I recently went back and watched all of the fast and furious movies for Fast 9 and I noticed rather quickly that over time characters like roman dom and even han later on became flander like with their personality traits. I wonder why this happened and wonder if the actors themselves notice it. Just a random food for thought after all, just something I randomly thought recently.

... keep reading on reddit β‘βͺοΈThe story is that Cipher sets up a device on the moon which releases the harmful gas/toxin that was teased by Ryan Reynolds in the end credit scene of Hobbs And Shaw. Dom and the rest of the team are hired by Kurt Russelβs CIA character to stop the device.
βͺοΈThe final battle takes place on the moon. Not sure what the rest of the movie would be. Maybe give your ideas in the comments.
βͺοΈThe team have vehicles that stick to the surface of the moon through some machinery. Thus they all drive cars in space while wearing some space gear.
βͺοΈThe women of the team all drive their vehicles in the moonβs craters while running over and killing the bad guys that are stationed there to protect the device from being blown up from below.
βͺοΈRoman and Tej take rocket launchers and use it to blow up the bad guys into space where they start floating around unable to get back onto the Moonβs surface. I know thereβs no gravity in space but itβs a Fast and Furious movie so the rocket launchers manage to blow stuff up anyways.
βͺοΈJohn Cena(forgot his characterβs name) has a cloaking device on his spacesuit which he uses to sneakily take down bad guys around the device while being invisible so we can get a meta βJohn Cena is invisibleβ joke in the movie. Also yes he turns good because thatβs what happens to most guys in these movies.
βͺοΈShawβs/Jason Stathamβs helmet is pierced by a knife by a bad guy and to not suffocate,he has to go all the way back to the spaceship since that has an artificial atmosphere. Therefore,Shaw holds his breath while beating up bad guys and running to the spaceship so he can survive.
βͺοΈDom is kicked really hard by some bad guy who is later taken out by Hobbs. To save Dom from floating away,Hobbs grabs him with one hand and grabs the moonβs surface with his other hand and literally holds onto the moon to stop Dom from flying off into space.
βͺοΈBy the end, most of the bad guys are taken out but the timer on the device has reached its final minute with no way to stop it. Therefore,Dom gets in his car for the final time and presses a button and in the last second,he goes light speed and goes right through the device exploding it and stopping the release of the gas.
βͺοΈThe end is them returning back to Earth and having a funeral for Dom.
First off: great cast! Dame Judy Dench, Thandie Newton, Karl Urban, Colm Feore, just excellent actors all over.
The story is more complex than you would expect and features several interlocking competing parties all seeking different things, and all trying to achieve those goals while not getting killed by the other parties. Its not a simple "good guys and bad guys" type story which makes it more interesting.
Plenty of action, plenty of fighting, and all that as expected. But all the action and fighting sits within an involving and interesting plot, its not just mindless action for its own sake.
It has a very B movie feel to it. But nothing wrong with that. I like the world it created. Excellent visual effects, and some fairly elaborate costumes and set pieces.
I thought this was another goofball action flick like F and F type stuff, but I found it to be much better than that. If you are in the mood for some hard core action, but also great actors hamming it up with a solid script then this is for you.
I want to be a GM or play a new game.If SW is adaptable to different genres: fantasy, Sci-fi, horror, etc, and remains fast, wouldn't this make SW one of the best systems since it saves you a lot of time in combat?
I don't see why would people want to play "slow" games with too many battles if they can just do that faster on SW.
How fast is SW really? I'm about to buy it on the premise of speed and still being fun at the same time.
(note, I might sound ignorant with my comment since this is the second TRPG I would purchase. The first one was Ironsworn)
I just saw this movie for the first time.
One of the most interesting things about it was that they didn't actually go into detail about what Memphis (Nicolas Cage) has been up to since he's moved away.
They act as if nothing interesting has happened to him and I guess he lives alone, but because nobody actually talks about it explicitly (or at least not that I remember), it's unintentionally mysterious.
#So here's what I would change:
Instead of picking up Sara (Angelina Jolie) at the end and driving off with her, he simply says goodbye and how tempted he is to disappear with her, but how their time is over.
She understands and wishes him the best.
He drives away alone.
We see a very cinematic montage of him driving on the highway and we think the movie might be over, but then he arrives to a pleasant-looking suburban neighborhood and parks his car.
He takes off his cool black leather jacket and puts on an uncool white windbreaker.
We see him get out in front of a nice, wholesome, humble-looking house with a white picket fence and a straight pathway through the front yard to the front door sitting between beds of flowers.
The camera sits in the car as he walks away from it, out of focus, toward the house and enters through the door.
We can barely see inside as a woman kisses him and a child embraces him.
He closes the door.
Fade out.
- The End -
I think that would've been a big surprise and would've completely changed the way I would experience the movie upon rewatching.
He would be a completely different character the second time around.
Instead of being a simple guy returning to the only life he was ever meant to have, he's a responsible adult (with so much to lose) being dragged back into the reckless lifestyle of his youth.
What do you guys think?

A timely linked article: https://np.reddit.com/r/Sino/comments/cyqorr/cultures_that_delay_gratification_their/ discussing how Asian cultures, Particularly Chinese culture, that emphasize delayed gratification tend to achieve better overall academic results in children.
Yes, and history is full of examples of Chinese patience winning through perseverance.
εΏ, or endure (hardship through patience and perseverance), is a well known Chinese virtue.
The Japanese took it and created εΏθ , Ninja (He who endures).
Even when it came to PRC and HK, China was typically Chinese. Mao and the Communists hid out in the harsh mountains of Yanan for more than a decade before emerging to fight the Chinese Civil War.
PRC waited almost 50 years to reclaim HK, through countless rounds of negotiations and diplomatic maneuvers.
Worthwhile things, like real Revolutions, do not come so quickly. Communists understood this and bid their time in economic reforms.
This was how they defeated the Nationalists KMT.
The ONLY real difference between the Communists CCP and all the other "Westernized" Chinese political groups, is that those who became "Westernized" became far too impatient due to their brainwashing.
Afterall, "Democracy" is nothing but short sighted. It is a philosophy that craves instant gratification of the Mob, and feeds it to its worshipers.
So we see that in the HK Young rioters.
(1) a "Leaderless" Democratic revolution? What is "leaderless" but another word for "irresponsible chaos"?
No real strategy, no problem! Do what you all want, destroy what you want aimlessly, and say you did it all for "Democracy".
Sure that makes sense as a "strategy" right?
Sure, that makes the rioters very happy. No need to care about the long term cost to HK city and its civilians.
Instant gratification for the mob.
(2) a "revolution now or never"?
"Now or never" is echoed in every protest in HK now. It is frankly desperation reek of Western brainwashing.
You can hardly outwait the CCP that waited 50 years to reclaim HK.
(3) escalation to "force Beijing to crack down"?
So the PLAN was, to escalate the violence to force PRC to send in the troops to crack down in HK.
Because the idea is if they could escalate the violence enough, PRC would do worse violence, and that would generate enough bad PR for PRC, and PRC may just give up on HK and let it go independent.
But again,

It takes itself a bit more seriously. I'm referring to the way in which FF took the story forward. Terminator series can learn from it about how to take the story forward. Before coming to that first let's look at why John Connor (JC) is not a mcguffin anymore.
If we look at T1 alone, JC does seem like a mcguffin. JC is not even physically present in T1. At the core, T1 is a chase story. A slasher film. A chasing B. But look at T1 and T2 as parts of a whole, then JC loses his mcguffin characters. What did we see young JC doing during the beginning of T2. Hacking into an ATM. It's something of a character development. It shows us he can hack into Skynet itself in the future. Further, we get a glimpse into his troubles/confused childhood. No parents around. Doesn't know if to believe his mother or not. Then we see JC influencing the T800. He asks him to not kill anyone. Throughout the story, a connection is made between the T800 and JC. The T800 itself gets some character development due to JC. Consider all of this, its not logical to say that JC is a mcguffin if we look at T1 AND T2.
Coming to FF, we saw how FF series changed into a full blown action series from a story which had more of family drama in it than action. Think of it. How many action scenes are there in FF1? Very little. Most of the time the story is about O'Connor dating Mia, while trying to arrest Dom. The heists Dom does are relatively low key ones. The whole story is about how O'Connor throws away his mission for Mia and Dom. Halfway through the series, mainly at Fast Five (or even in FF4), the series turns more into action. If in FF1 they were stealing some relatively cheap electronic goods, in Fast Five they were stealing a vault full of money.
How is it relevant to Terminator series you ask? Look at it. In T1, the JC lore and the humans vs skynet lore was at the backseat of the car. The chase between T800 and Sarah/Reese took the front seat. In T2, JC and skynet just poked their heads in between the two front seats. T1000 chasing Sarah/T800 was happening and at the same time the plot about their attempt to destroy Skynet was also happening. T2 gave a neat finish to the story. No more sequels were required. If they are going to make a sequel, JC, Skynet and Resistance needs to come to the front seat. How long can they sell the series by

They blow up tanks, aren't bothered by rubber bullets and [consume Corona with ease] (https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/64tine/the_fast_and_the_furious_movies_that_feature/). Their exploits are mythical and gravity has had to be reconsidered following some of their missions. However, they have a big loss on their record.
A lone trucker in The Fast and the Furious beat them with ease [(Youtube clip here)] (https://youtu.be/K6HSnr2ELb4) and did what Charlize Theron, Jason Statham, Luke Evans, Cole Hauser and John Ortiz couldn't do.
The trucker just drove in a straight line, didn't lose his nerve and was able to reload a shotgun whilst driving a massive truck. He wasn't about to lose precious cargo to some speed racers and he made them pay. I respect that.
I wonder if Dom, Brian, Letty and Mia decided to not tell anybody about it. Also, I wonder if the trucker has ever seen the crew on the news and been like "I took them out with ease!"
Yes, even Tokyo Drift. Also, everything about Paul Walkers character.
I'll never understand how these films do so well in box office. The cars are still lame even if you're into cars. The plot is so simple, and then they try to make it deep and somehow can't???? And it turns into "Ha, I never died, I was just brainwashed and forgot our history!"?? Children have written far more sophisticated plots.
