With the announcement of Assembled: The Making of WandaVision releasing March 12 it is now official that there will be no break in between WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It seems that FATWS will also have to share the date of Assembled with their clips on Legends.
From a marketing standpoint I think that this decision will hurt FATWS in the long run. People will be more interested in the behind the scenes of WandaVision than clips from previous movies and the breathing room between the series is only a week. When the marketing for FATWS goes full swing people will still be talking about the finale of WandaVision and the excitement of seeing how the show was created.
So my question to you is: Do you think that no break in between WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier will affect how FATWS is received?
A part of me doesn't think it will affect FATWS because a lot of people binge shows and are able to appreciate that they are watching different genres. But I also think that the fever pitch of WandaVision will reach such a high that people will complain that FATWS it is not like WandaVision (the constant mysteries,theories, and cliff hangers) and not view it in the genre of the politicalesque buddy cop comedy that Marvel are currently selling it as.
Two or three weeks in between Assembled: The Making of WandaVision and FATWS premier would have been my recommendation especially since there is a decent gap in between FATWS finale and Loki. This is the first time in my memory that MCU properties have been so close to each other and I hope that FATWS is not a casualty.
The reason why I bring this up is because I have recently seen FATWS referred to as 'MCU generic' in comparison to WandaVision but honestly I am excited for it. I am ready to see the world outside of Wanda's 'hex' and SWORD.
I’m not sure if it’s been posted here or not, but I work at a news station and we got the list for all the trailers/commercials/spots for the Super Bowl tomorrow. On the list is a trailer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, along with a spot for Black Widow. It’s suppose to air sometime 4th quarter I believe according to the sheet. Just wanted to share!
