A list of puns related to "The Cat in the Hat (TV special)"
The mom, Joan, gives her kids a set of rules before she leaves for work. (God gives Adam and Eve a commandment to not eat of the fruit of the tree of good and bad)
Conrad lives for breaking rules, where Sally is more of a goody to shoes yet shortly followed Conrad. (Eve was enticed to break God's commandment, Adam shortly followed after)
Conrad and Sally were easily seduced by the Cat. (The cat is Symbolic for the devil.)
The kids want the cat to stay. (Symbolic of our inclination to sin, despite our desire to do good.)
The fish (a constant reminder of the commandments God sent forth.)
Thing 1 and Thing 2 (Symbolic for demons)
"Alec Baldwins character is Jesus trying to get things right by Joan, and the military school is actually "baptism" for conrad." - thejeremx
The box (Symbolic for limbo, before death)
Even though the Cat enticed the kids to break the rules and have them follow their own rules, he in the end helps them clean up. (Symbolic for death, death washes sins away, in the end, cleaned up.)
Are Cat in the Hat's employees, Thing 1 & Thing 2, kept in the trunk of the Thingamajigger while traveling? Pretty sure that breaks many laws - labor, health & safety, motor vehicle, FAA, etc.
In this episode, Nick and Sally learn about this cool flower, which in real life doesnβt look THAT much like a ballsack, but in the world of Cat in the Hat, looks like a FIELD of ballsacks, and everybody is amazed at the glory of finding said field.
Now that Iβm sitting down to write about it, I realize this show bothers me in many ways...enough to make a list.
The way he thanks the viewers and contributors sounds SUPER sarcastic, like βTHANKS...(he remembers they pay for his airtime)...so much...youβre very kind...
The way he just pops up in the backyard, how the parents seem to think that these βadventuresβ are imaginary and always say yes, when in reality their kids are leaving with a grown ass cat man in his unmarked flying vehicle. Also, the fact that the parents (to my knowledge) have never spoken face to face with the cat in the hat, that makes me so unnecessarily mad.
βFLICK THE JIGGER MAH WHIZZERβ Iβll just let this one sit here for a bit. Let you think on that.
Rattlesnake episode(a tale about tales)...if youβre going to portray a friendly visit with a rattlesnake, letβs not put too much emphasis on the fact that the rattle of a rattle snake is fun to dance to, or that you can have a friendly visit with a rattle snake in which itβs rattling its tale at you.
So GA Bunko's been hyping this event up that takes place on the 26th of May, on the official GS twitter account since the 18th of February, 2019 when this event was announced. This event is scheduled a month after the last anime volume(3) has been released which was done so in April. So its very much possible that a season 2 announcement will come at the end of the screening. The anime has been touted as a 'hit' by its makers worldwide so from all i've gathered, iam fully expecting a S2 announcement personally. The total 3 BD/DVD volumes sold 4.1K, 3.4K and 3.3K respectively in their first weeks at the shelves which we can consider better than average sales for an anime that didn't have high production values at all plus all that huge streaming revenue it gathered from inside and outside Japan. So its been atleast IMO profitable quite a bit and they've been promoting the anime a lot by conducting mini events for it throughout the winter and spring season of 2019. So i think that they've got plans for its future!
Anyways if for some reason a S2 doesn't get announced here then either it'll get announced by fall or in spring at GA bunko's event but regardless if a S2 doesn't get announced at this event then i don't see one getting announced in the near future but thats just me!
I grew up watching the movies and was isolated from all itβs hate, so I thought everybody liked the movies until recently. I thought that they were funny as a child and enjoy them just as much now. But hey, to each their own.
Mike Meyers the cat in the hat wanders into Lux and starts making a scene with thing 1 and thing 2. Lucifer Morningstar doesn't appreciate this ruckus and decides he needs to kick this cat back to hell. Who wins?
Despite its catastrophic 9% Rotten Tomatoes score, this isn't actually too bad to watch. What people forget about kids' films is that they're precisely that - KIDS' films. 100% of these film reviews are submitted by adults, who obviously aren't the film's target market. I've read several reviews of this film along the lines of "it isn't mature!" Um... yes, that would be because it was made for children. I'm by no means saying that a film for children can't be sophisticated (e.g. Inside Out dealing with stress and emotion), but what's so wrong with a little bit of eccentric fun every now and then? This film was targeted directly at children, and adults shouldn't have such an impact on its score. Now that I'm older, I can appreciate that it's not a perfect movie - but I can also comprehend that I'm not who it's made for. I remember enjoying this film as a young kid and that's because it was made purely for kids. Similarly, you wouldn't let a six-year-old review something indisputably mature like "Schindler's List" because obviously it's aimed at an adult audience; so why should we allow people outside the target demographic to have so much pull on the ratings? Does anyone stop to consider whether or not the actual KIDS liked it?
Secondly, this film adhered perfectly to its source material. Dr. Seuss is renowned for his wacky, zany humour (like Green Eggs and Ham) and Mike Myers keeps to this really well - granted, it's not his finest role, but he adds some quirky and outlandish aspects that add well to the "Dr. Seuss" feel. Would these reviewers rather he played the role with a more "Theon Greyjoy, twitchy, nervous" approach? This is DR. SEUSS. His whole forte was wacky humour, so I don't understand the complaints that Mike Myers is terrible in this.
Also, another common complaint is that it's not "creatively inspired". Not creatively inspired? It's Dr. Seuss. The film company didn't really have too much of a say in the inspiration, because it's based on a book. They can't just take wild liberties with the source material because that would mean defying the original book. If people have a problem with the "creativity" of this, they should take it up with the original book - that's not the production team's fault, because they're just sticking with the original background.
And finally, plenty of people argue that the film offers up too many adult jokes (e.g. the "dirty hoe!" joke). I can understand this complaint, because kids arguably s
... keep reading on reddit β‘Prove me wrong. With the initial arrival of The Cat and the way he villainously chases Sally and Conrad through the house as they try to escape and acting as if nothing is wrong because he's so powerful he can take the situation lightly. He eventually convinces the kids to sign a contract that probably gives away their souls to him to own in his own personal hell pit. It's obviously supernatural because more than once there is more than 1 of him and they are all portrayed as the same person in 2 different spots. He shows extremely violent and dangerous behavior especially shown during the cooking scene with one of the "other" Cats. He even has his own evil henchmen in the form of Things 1 and 2 who were blatantly created solely for the purpose of mischief and ruining lives because they only do the OPPOSITE of what they're told. In the end the Cat leaves with subtle hints that someday he may return like the second coming of Christ. He leaves with no eye witnesses except the kids and the eye of the camera itself.
Itβs stupid and absurd yes but some of the jokes genuinely made me laugh and the adaptation wasnβt too bad.
