A list of puns related to "The Angels (American group)"
edit: i am giving up on this not because I found the comments convincing, but because obviously separate masters/PhD subs would require heavier moderation and if the mods here were interested in heavy moderation we would already have it.
Iβve been thinking a lot about starting a Reddit community primarily to discuss problems plaguing the African American community and culture in a way that is Satanic. The idea came to me when speaking to an African American friend of mine about non theistic satanism and the social issues the temple is currently working on shedding light on. His first question and a question that many African Americans have in regards to any social reformation is what will they be doing for the injustices African Americans have faced in America?
This made me think, the temple attacks many issues from drug addiction, to religious plurality in public forums, to womenβs autonomy. I wonder if the satanic temple would be willing to begin constructing a faction made primarily to address the African American communities concerns. I realize this is adding to the plate of issues the temple is currently addressing. This is why I ask, is there any educated, tech savvy, satanic African Americans interested in having/furthering this conversation?
I have decided to start a series on lesser known Asian American ethnic groups/ subgroups which you might not have heard/know much about, but are still nonetheless significant. A lot of ethnic groups fall under the 'Asian American' label, so it is understandable if you are not fully educated on a particular group, as there are so many.
Hmong Americans (prounounced (h)mong) mostly consist of those that fled to the United States as refugees in the late 1970s due to recruitment CIA operatives in northern Laos π±π¦ during the Vietnam War and their descendants. Over half of the Hmong population from Laos left the country, or attempted to leave, in 1975, at the culmination of the war.
At that time many Hmong families feared retaliation of the Pathet Lao π±π¦ ΰΊΰΊ°ΰ»ΰΊΰΊΰΊ₯ΰΊ²ΰΊ§ (Lao People's Liberation Army). Thousands of Hmong were evacuated or escaped on their own to Hmong refugee camps in Thailand. About 90% of those who made it to refugee camps in Thailand were ultimately resettled in the United States. The rest resettled in other western countries such as Canada, France, the Netherlands, and Australia.
There are currently an estimated 330,000 Hmong people in America, making them the 9th largest recognized Asian American group.
Hmong Americans were initially classified as Laotian Americans under the US Census, but many Hmong pushed to have their own ethnic classification.

Of course, this isn't just Kdrama. Why aren't Japanese people racist for having no non japanese in their movies? Nollywood is racist for not having Japanese people. It's a ridiculous notion that only western media should be held to the same standard.
I am in an Asian facebook group, and for some reason, there is this weird call for having more Hmong people for East Asian roles. Stuff like 'we want more stories featuring Hmong people, not just Chinese people'. It makes zero sense. Hmong represent 0.3% of USA according to google. If USA is racist for not showing a small group of people, then every country's media is racist.
But this goes to my broader opinion, I seriously don't understand why people think we need 'more' of certain categories. If a group makes up 5%, of course you won't see that many in media. So other people saying stuff like we need more
I remember a while back people were saying we need more black doctors in canada. If you run the numbers, we already lack doctors. Black population in Canada is 3.5%, but of course, bigger cities will get a larger amount of people. People getting upset because there is no 'black doctor in Regina or something are ridiculous. Frankly, my opinion is, I don't get it when people say we need more 'x minority' in y field. You can't have more if you just don't have the people.
I am a minority. It also makes zero fucking sense to have one black, one indian, one chinese, one white, one korean, one filipino or whatever in a news cast. None.
As a Canadian, I find this sub extremely American-centric. Nothing wrong with that but I was wondering if this is a sub for Black American women specifically, and if a similar sub exists that is not so American-centric.
