Can Taraxacum (dandelions) cross breed with closely related species in different genuses? I ask this because dandelions are an important source of pollen for bees, but there is a lot of effort devoted to killing dandelions because we (humans) don't like their appearance. What if instead of trying to kill dandelions we instead tried to breed varieties that are more aesthetically pleasing to us by cross breeding them with other species?
