The Grand Mosque of Makhachkala is Dagestan's biggest Masjid. It was financed by Turkey and was modeled after Istanbul's Sultan Ahmed Mosque. It stands in the heart of Dagestan's capital and can accommodate up to 17.000 worshipers.
