A list of puns related to "Sublimation (psychology)"
As many of you may have discovered, sexual energy is a creative force. In order to keep ourselves emotionally, physically and psychologically balanced, we need to find a creative and physical expression for impulses.
If you've read a little about Sigmund Freud's theory of "Sublimierung" you would perhaps also know that sublimation doesn't just account for sexuality but also for anger and other forms of impulses. Freud argued that sublimation is one of the greatest and most healthy ways to avoid suffering from repression. When I say "suffering" I simply mean of you have lots of energy and no channel to express it into, which may cause some form of bad experience.
Freud believed that some of the most creative geniuses in history had in fact a powerful libido, but all of them found creative ways to channel their energy into. He mentions Leonardo Da Vinci for example, whom he believed was perverted at a young age but grew up to find countless ways to express this into.
So how do you do it?
If you just take a moment to focus on it, you can feel this energy. A powerful feeling that is just waiting for some way to express itself. It is physics, reducing one form of energy to transform it into another. Music, art, philosophy, science, engineering and designing. These are all excellent ways to express this into. But exercise is probably one of the most common forms of sublimation that you will hear about on Reddit.
If we move on to Carl Jung for a second who argued against Freud, at least so far as I've understood him he meant that if we really get to the core of it and shed some light on the subconscious then we can break free into some state of higher consciousness. By observing things objectively as they are from a bigger perspective, we can break free from the chains that limit us.
I'm not exactly sure what books are recommended in SR, but I've read Practice of Brahmacharya and thought it had a great perspective on the problems of modern society.
Sigmund Freud believed that sublimation was a sign of maturity (indeed, of civilization), allowing people to function normally in culturally acceptable ways. He defined sublimation as the process of deflecting sexual instincts into acts of higher social valuation, being "an especially conspicuous feature of cultural development; it is what makes it possible for higher psychical activities, scientific, artistic or ideological, to play such an important part in civilised life"
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could share some good resources for Canadians? It seems like the US based sites have such high shipping rates. I was wondering where you guys get blanks?
I'm starting a phone case business and I've bought everything but the cases... I don't know where to get those. Amazon is not an option because shipping is way too expensive (I live in South Africa).. Other stores like etsy and alibaba will take way too long - I read somewhere that shipping to South Africa using those websites can take up to 3 months - I don't have 3 months.
If anyone can suggest other alternatives so I can look into them please, hopefully shipping will be cheaper because that's currently my biggest problem.
Iβm considering buying a heat press for doing sublimation on aluminum (chroma luxe) panels. Iβd like a heat press that is versatile so I could create larger panels - say for panoramic photos. Maybe 24x48 inch panels. Im wondering if I can get away with a smaller heat press and press over the same area multiple times as I slide the panel along safely without causing lines or differences in saturation? Or would I need a much larger format press that costs a ton? Iβm just wanting to do this as a hobby and maybe a small side business.
Looking to start getting into sublimation but want to find a supplier for what I need first before I pull the trigger on the printer itself. I'm have had time to find a supplier for boxers/panties other than Alibaba. Did anyone find any suppliers?
I'm concerned with the color calibration accuracy after exporting to raster for printing. We are currently using Corel Draw. We want to learn Inkscape and switch to it. Would be great to hear from production users.

Very excited for making my first sublimation transfers.
I bought some yards of polyester for scraps. Great results.
My only gripe is that my new out the box printer is making grinding noises during print head cleaning and printing.
Iβm awaiting my replacement but at the least, I can learn for now. I can still make some prints.
Is it worth it to extract my ink and use it in the new printer? Thatβs about $20 bucks wasted.
Thanks.
I am trying to sublimate a ceramic 13 inch plate with my new 3D heat press, but after heating half of the image/text is done while the other half is blurry/smudged. Iβll attach an image. Any tips to remedy this issue. Iβve changed the temperature, lowered the time, and still get the same results.
Hi all,
I bought an ET-4750 to try some sublimation printing, but the store ran out and are offering a free upgrade to an ET-4850.
All the info Iβm reading suggests that these are not sublimation ink compatible.
Can anyone confirm this please?
Thanks Iβm advance
