A list of puns related to "Student financial aid (United States)"
I have a student loan of 4,690,000 INR, which is approximately 67,000 USD. My expenses including the tuition fees and living costs approximate to 42,000 USD a year according to my university. The interest rates in India are pretty high (for me, its 10.5%) and I'd like to take as minimum of an amount possible from my allotted loan from India.
Although I know I can manage my living costs from on campus employment and other sources, I would like to have a plan B incase I don't get a job.
Do I at any point during my master's qualify for a loan from a bank in the United States?
If not, are there any alternatives that aren't scholarships or fee waivers from assistantships? Any help is appreciated.

I understand that most hospitals have a financial assistance program and most state has stuff like their version Medicare, however as an international student, I canβt seem to make use of all this when I do not have the funds to pay for a doctors visit. In addition to that, international students cannot work in the US which does not help the situation. It is required by the schools that we get an insurance when we are a student here, but once we are not a student and are on OPT, we do not qualify for student insurance price anymore and it is a spike in cost to a normal insurance policy. Is there any way an international student can find financial assistance?
Hello,
My name is Tim and I'm a high school student from South Korea. I've been a fan of F1 for most of my life and, like many other kids, I have dreams of working for a team one day.
Knowing that most F1 engineers come from Europe, I applied to many schools throughout the EU and England. I've slowly been hearing back from some of them and by some miracle, I was offered a place to read materials science at St. Edmund Hall, the University of Oxford. My family and I never expected me to get a place at such a school and thus, never really considered how we'd finance my education should I ever be accepted.
The total cost of attending for international students comes down to about 50,000 to 60,000 pounds a year, which is much more than what my family earns. My family can provide about 10 thousand and I received a scholarship that provides another 10 thousand pounds. That still leaves about 30, 40 thousand pounds.
Unfortunately, there aren't any scholarships from Oxford available for Korean students who study engineering or applied sciences.
If you know any scholarships or financial aid available for international students that I could earn, please, I'd love to know. Thank you for your time and I apologize if this post isn't suitable for this subreddit.
Hi prospective transfer student here, I had seen that if you are new and you qualify you could receive a grant from the school that can be used to get a new laptop with specific specs is that real?
I didn't send it to Cornell and got rejected in ED. Upvote appreciated.

Hey guys, I've been working on my personal statement for a while because I plan to go uni in the UK. My parents already informed me that I would not be receiving aid financially from them, so I'm not sure how financial aid would work for American students. My parents have more than enough to pay for my tuition, so I don't know if I could get any scholarships need-based. Any suggestions?
Also, do you have any suggestions of what I should apply as/how to make a compelling personal statement? I am open to any advice (quite overwhelmed right now, to be honest).
BTW, I am an incoming senior (last year of high school). Here are my stats:
My grades: 4.5 GPA
SAT: 1460/1600
PSAT: 1470/1520
Gender: Female
Major: Biology (I want to become a professor :>)

It's disgusting how she basically admits that Corporate money and influence dictate everything. Walmart, Amazon, and other large corporations fund social welfare programs that their workers use in order to deprive them of a living wage and healthcare. Cryptocurrency allows us to break free of this financial bondage and turns the whole system on it's head.
Truly decentralized cryptocurrency has the potential to revolutionize everything. It can allow for everyone's vote to matter and have input on the changes society needs. It can allow for efficient and transparent tax allocation so anyone and everyone can audit and keep the system accountable to the people.
Trustless and public block chains are the only way I see to get dark corporate money out of politics.
Crypto isn't just some novel niche tech, it has the potential to be the catalyst for economic and political revolution. If we can successfully integrate a truly decentralized financial protocol, it changes the dynamics of rich nations to poor nations, rich people to poor people.
I really hope humanity can use cryptocurrency to better society and eliminate the asymmetry's of power that Corporations, and people like Janet Yellen abuse.
Hi everyone,
I have been researching this question since I started the process to get into nursing school. I havenβt found the right answer as it is not the same for everyone.
I am currently enrolled in my second semester of nursing school at a for-profit private nursing school in Las Vegas. Yesterday, three weeks before the next semester, the schedule for the upcoming semester was sent out and it left me stumped. There is no feasible way for me to fit into work and school in the same week. The way the school is scheduling is Mon-Thurs with two clases a week that are two hours long with 3-4 hour gaps in between. This makes it very difficult for me to work as my place of work is only open from Tuesday-Saturday 5:00am to 7:30 on weekdays and 5:00-2:30 on Saturday.
When I first enrolled in school, my job was open 7 days a week and was open from 5:00a.m-8:30p.m on weekdays and 5:00-3:30 on weekends. Due to a huge turn over and medical leaves, our staff is a skeleton crew so we needed to reduce hours. Now I am in a situation where neither my job or my school is willing to accommodate in any way. I have spoken to both my job and workβs authorities to try and work something out and they are both firm that theyβre not willing to compromise. My work argues that they already compromised by giving me a weird schedule with uncommon hours. My school argues that this is the schedule the teachers want, there is no alternate schedule, this is not a night time nursing program, and I should have known better than to sign up for school and not expect to be here 4-5 days a week for 5-8 hours a day.
I am a little frustrated as both parties promised me that this situation would not happen. While I was taking care of my admission, I had read a concerning review from a student saying that the schedule was too demanding for anyone to maintain a full time job. I contacted my school and expressed my concerns. I let them know that I am my only means of financial support so working is imperative for my success. The counselor assured me that school would not exceed 3 days a week at max with maybe a night clinical during the weekends. I was relived and continued the process. I communicated this to my employer and they were happy to accommodate as much as they can as long as the school stays true to that schedule limit.
Now I am contemplating dropping out or quitting my job. I have thought about quitting and taking out loans to live off ofβ¦ but I donβt think Iβll be able to get

I'm an international student and I have absolutely no idea about how I should apply for financial aid. Is there some kind of website? When I go to the college website, it says that I have to register with FAFSA, but that doesn't work for international students. But I've seen international students talking about how they got financial aid.
Also financial aid is different from scholarships right? Is there any website for applying to scholarships?
Got a call on Saturday. My mom is in jail and I needed to go pick up my 11 year old sister and take care of her until my mom makes bail next month. Luckily I live only 45 minutes away, so I was able to get her.
Problem is, I'm a student who can barely take care of myself. Our father is not in the picture, and I can't call my mom to ask her for her credit card or SNAP pin and visitations are not being done right now. I haven't heard from her since Saturday.
Anyway, I'm bringing her to school and picking her up everyday. It's killing me in gas. I can manage food, but everything else is going to be really difficult.
I'm looking for $50 - $75 for gas? Luckily, she only goes to school 3 days next week. After that it's back to 5 days and I just don't have the money for gas and she's already really upset about our mom, I don't want to take her out of school. I feel like keeping her routine as normal as possible is best.
If this is inappropriate, I'm sorry. She's not the one in jail so I feel like she shouldn't be punished for our moms6mistake.
Thank you.
My familyβs gross income is slightly above $200,000, around $229,000 per year, do I still have any chance to get financial aid as an international student?

NYU requires me to submit the national tax form, but I don't know what that means. I sent them my father's form-16 which is a tax return, but they say that it is not what they require...i don't know what the hell to put it in and the deadline is today ...please help!
All of the ones I found are not applicable to my conditions, but I most certainly cannot afford 34-40k yearly tuition too.
What to do if they are terminating benefits because I did not "provide proof of Financial Aid Awards for 2022"?
Btw, I'm in Minnesota.
Financial aid = student loans. I haven't received student loans for 3+ years. I can't provide proof of something that doesn't exist!!
I think this happened because I submitted a household update form and I answered "YES" in response to "Do you have or expect loans, scholarships, or grants for attending school?" It was not clear to me then, but now I understand it was asking about recent loans, not old loans and current student debt. (I have student debt. That's why I answered yes...)
I did file an appeal, but I don't know how to defend myself before the judge. I think just saying, "well, I don't" isn't likely to win my appeal.
With my household appeal, I already provided pay stubs, bank statements, etc. In other words, I have been very transparent about my finances.
I also tried calling my case worker, state DHS appeals office, and a local nonprofit advocacy group and one didn't know and the other two haven't responded.
Help!

Hello!! I read somewhere that you usually get your financial aid letter in the admitted students package but I just got it and can't seem to find it. I come from a pretty low-income family so the financial aid letter is basically as important as the acceptance letter. Anyone know when the financial aid statement would be coming in and whether it would be through email or mail? Appreciate any advice :)
