What if Burial Chambers and Crypts had lower, more difficult levels?

Random idea: What if tombs in the Forest and crypts in the Swamp had deeper levels that are clearly more difficult, but also give better loot? This could add purpose to these biomes, lengthen their timeline in the game. The entrance to these deeper levels should be clearly marked with a different type of door or other objects and these deeper levels wouldn't need to appear in every tomb and crypt.

Enemies in these deeper levels could be, for example, only 2-star skeletons (and ghosts) in tombs, maybe even some (starred) Draugr. Crypts could have 2-star Draugr and starred Draugr Elites in their deeper levels. Or anything that would be significantly more difficult than the current, "regular" tombs and crypts have. Throw a Fenring there! Loot could be their regular loot, but in greater quantities, and also more advanced loot in smaller quantities. Finding bronze bars in deep tombs and iron bars in deep crypts would be neat. Maybe there could be a small chance of finding a dragon egg or silver in a deep crypt? Something to make these deeper levels worthwhile of exploring even a bit later in game - or risk it earlier if you're greedy for loot. That would be cool, imo.

DAO: Locked in the burial chamber, in the elven ruins. Please help [dao spoilers]

Hi all,

Playing on Xbox X and I have encountered a game ruining glitch.

I was in the room where you need to offer water to an alter in the Lower Ruins, next to the Elven burial chamber, but before I got to the alter, a cut scene kicked in with a elven lady ghost who attack me.

I then saved, as I always do after a fight, ransacked the room for loot, went to the metal door and it is locked still, locking me in the room and my auto save saving on front of the door on the wrong side.

After much googling, I see you were meant to be able to open the door by praying etc, which I didn't have chance to do due to the cutscene kicking in.

I'm 40 hours into my playthrough with both my saves being in a locked room I shouldn't have access to.

Does anyone know a way to cheat the game to ghost me through a door, or port me to another location.

Any help would be appreciated.

Legendary Burial Chambers

I was feeling pretty good about myself after all was said and done. I had just received my 5th Silver Artifact Spear, and was feeling pretty good about myself in general. Then I received a notification that a vampire had claimed a burial chamber.

I immediately went to the burial grounds, and was horrified to find that one of my legendary fighters was among the dead. I immediately ordered my military to attack the area, but since there were no burrows, they just ended up fighting the vampire, who in turn ended up dying.

I had basically beaten the crap out of the vampire, and was feeling pretty good about myself as well. Then, I got a notification that the Forgotten Beast Burial Chambers were being used for human habitation.

I immediately went there, and was shocked to find that out. The beast was actually using the chamber to house its dead, and even putting them in decorative piles, and even engraved with pictures of beautiful things.

I immediately ordered the engravings to stop, and was told that it was because I had failed at teaching the dwarves to appreciate the wonders of nature.

I tried to stop, and was told to go elsewhere, because apparently, there was no one left to engrave pictures of the beast.

I tried to find a new home for the bones, and were told to go elsewhere, so they started taking them all with me.

I even had a group of dwarves that I had designated burial grounds for, so they just started taking them with me, and eventually the dwarves became tired of taking them with them, so I retired them, and now there are no bones anywhere to bury, and pictures of everything around are engraved.

I was feeling pretty good about myself, and things were going pretty well, until I got a notification that a vampire had claimed a crypt next to my legendary burrow.

I immediately went to the burrow, and was horrified to find that one of my legendary fighters was among the dead. I immediately ordered the engraver to engrave the coffin, but since there were no coffins, they just ended up falling on the vampire, who in turn fell on my legendary fighters, causing even more destruction.

I had almost given up, and was feeling pretty good about myself, but suddenly, I got a message that a vampire was in the middle of a feast, and there was an order to engrave the area around him, but since there were no dwarves around, they just ended up falling on the vampire, causing even more destruction.

Legendary Burial Chambers

I had a bug with my legendary burrows. Whenever a dwarf got too much of a mood, he'd throw himself out the burrows and become a legendary bonecrafter.

However, whenever I put a door on his room, he just pulled the lever.

I thought maybe he fell down the shaft and got stuck, and maybe he pulled the door and became stuck, and it was harmless.

However, one particular dwarf was stuck. He was making bone crafts. I closed the door, and I was activating the retractable bridge thingy, and then he got stuck. I tried unretracting, and suddenly he was loose again.

I pulled the lever, and suddenly he was loose again.

I pulled the door again, and now he’s loose again.

He’s loose and stuck again.

He’s loose and stuck again.

He’s loose and stuck again, and suddenly he’s dead.

I tried unretracting, and suddenly he’s back again.

He’s back, and suddenly he’s back again.

None of it worked, so I tried unretracting, activating the retractable bridge thingy, and suddenly he’s loose again.

He’s back, and suddenly he’s loose again.

He’s back, and suddenly he’s loose again.

He’s back, and suddenly he’s loose again.

He’s back, and suddenly he’s loose again.

Legendary Burial Chambers

My current fortress is getting pretty large. Every now and then, I have the feeling that there’s more than one forgotten beast under my bed.

One such beast was a Minotaur. I had actually gotten a good chuckle out of myself after I slaughtered the first creature in my cavern. It was a skinless, mouldering old goat, which was promptly skinned and entombed with gold.

Fast forwarding a few fortresses worth of game time and I see a slight decrease in the frequency of goblin and kob Goblin attacks. I’ve also observed a slight decrease in the occurrence of forgotten beasts in general.

Perhaps I’m misremembering, but in the past two years, there’s been a slight decrease in the occurrence of kob Kobolds and other forgotten beasts as well.
