I want to learn Spencerian script because I love the way it looks. I want to use it in my daily life and use it all the time. I heard it is faster than writing normally if you get used to it. How should I go about it?
Started practicing Spencerian Script and it’s so sexy but much easier than other classic scripts I’ve tried :)

Insane pinkie discomfort, Spencerian script.
Learning the Spencerian script, but no matter how many times I try my pinkie hurts in the recommended grip. Is this an issue of anatomy? (My pinkie starts literally halfway my ring finger and I have long fingers.) I just can't seem to keep the pinkie and ring finger both comfortable and correct.
Spencerian or other? A) c.1917 from my great uncle B) c.1920 my great grandmother (sis of A), C&D her husband. What script are these and what type of pen/nub might they have used?

I started to learn Spencerian Script a couple weeks ago. Very different letter forms from copperplate which is what I’m used to. Yikes!

I like my writing best when stuck in caps lock. I've ordered some Spencerian script books to improve my cursive and I'm really looking forward to it!

😝 Being silly with Spencerian. Studying this script since June. Leonardt EF Principal on vellum with troublemaker ink.
Just beginning to learn Spencerian script- finally comfortable enough sharing some progress. My handwriting used to be so bad, I would get all the "you should be a doctor" jokes. If I can, anyone can!

I’m really good at J’s and lowercase f’s, but overall struggle with the capital letters.
Field testing my TWSBI ECO (F) and Lexington Grey ink, I am starting to love the pen and ink. The color variation and all the perks that come with the ink is just awesome. Sorry for my atrocious handwriting. Expect some spencerian scripts in 2019.

Is spencerian script considered calligraphy? And should I practice the 7 basic strokes or the movement exercises in Spencer's book first?

Can anyone write in Spencerian script?
And if you can, do you write like that for all your writing? Looking at the examples, it looks amazing, but reading about the evolutions and the other resources make it seem like it isn't practical for that to be your everyday working cursive script. Am I wrong about this? I learned D'Nealian in school and have a poorly modified version now, and I'm curious if you use a better script for daily writing or only for "calligraphy-style" endeavors.
