A list of puns related to "Slow steaming"
I have recently purchased a second firestick as the first one was great, however i am having trouble getting internet speeds on the stick that are high enough to even steam youtube.
The first worked flawlessly anywhere in the house but the new "Firestick Lite" connects at a high speed then drops back to like 1-3mbps.
Im wondering if changing the Wifi channel would help or if that's even possible?
Hi All,
So, It seems that whenever I stream Twitch at anything above low/medium, there is considerable lag with only about 500kbps-1mbps of my connection being used.
I've tested this on my home connection (40mbps/8mbps) fibre connection) and on my work connection (40mbps/40mbps BUSINESS fibre connection) and it's the same on both!
Youtube videos, and really any other streaming content works flawlessly (sometimes using the entire 40mbps to buffer the video), but any twitch videos above medium settings buffers every few seconds.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? I believe there's some outbound shaping from the twitch servers. I work as a network engineer, and i'd be hard pressed to say its anything on my side (ie even netflix on full HD works flawlessly)
Thanks in advance!
Having a problem with the Steam startup. Usually takes around 4-5 minutes for steam to launch, and a further 4-5 mins for csgo to launch, stays on a black screen for a good few minutes.
It isn't a performance issue, I have a very powerful PC and I don't have any performance issues on any other programs.
Anybody have any ideas?
Hi there.
I frequently stream stuff on the PS4 mostly on Twitch. However, since Sunday, my streaming is begin to shutter with bad quality. This is also happening on my PSVita and PS3 as well. I tried to reset the setting and it's not even working. Have even tried to change my DNS settings. Nothing improving. Speed is fine however on the PC but please help me fix issue on the PS4 app. Thanks.
I'm wondering if it would be safe to place a normal porcelain bowl on top of a spacer then inside the slow cooker ceramic insert with some water in order to steam something.
Streaming. The title should be "SOME Video Streaming Very Slow". Apologies. :S
I can stream HD YouTube content fine, but when I go to watch the daily show, 3/4 of my time is spent buffering, saying my bandwidth is limited to ~250kb, which is way lower than it actually is.
I've run CCleaner, which gets rid of temporary internet files. I've tried both updating and rolling back my network card driver. I've toggled the network device, unplugged/replugged, rebooted, etc. I've tried ipconfig /release and /renew. I've tried disabling my firewall altogether. I've tried three different browsers. I've tried scanning for malware. Windows Diagnose and Repair can't identify the problem.
Honestly I'm out of ideas at this point. :( Help?
I'm running Windows Vista SP2. My network adapter is Marvell Yukon 88E8055 PCS-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller on driver version 11.30.1.3 (9/15/2010).
Okay! Now I am a huge sucker of domestic scenes! Especially when the heroine cooks food for hero as a kind gesture!! Because I love cooking π€. And when I cooked for my brother's friend which resulted in a heart full smile on his face. Ahhhhh!
Idk but rn either I am getting slapped with a-hole heroes or snappy heroines which are becoming mood killer π.
I am not looking for any drama or dark/secret past full of triggers. Just heart melting story with endearing characters π₯°. Although if the story still continues to be sweet I can take what I can get.
Definitely don't want:
β’ cheating/sex with OW/OM after meeting hero/heroine.
β’ dead loving ex/love triangle
Bonus (it doesn't have to be necessarily in the story but my heart would leap out of the window if I get this!)
β’ celibate characters for a while/or the sexual history of the characters is not harped upon.
β’ the characters are not rich, maybe middle class or have regular jobs. Not buisness man/woman.
Books I have read on the same theme
β’ most books by Noelle Adams
β’ Phenoix by Raine Anthony
β’ kyland and stinger by Mia Sheridan
β’ broken by Elizabeth Kelly
β’ artistic licence by Elle Pierson
β’ limits by Steph Campbell
β’ Historical romance by Mimi Matthews
β’ without words, dancing on coals. Eyes of silver, eyes of gold.
β’ one percent of you by Michelle gross (although the hero was an ass initially but he soon comes around)
β’ athica lane (recently read and thoroughly enjoyed!)
β’ raw by Katy evans (totally loved it!)
β’ coming home by Priscilla Glenn.
β’ never seduce a scot by Maya banks.
β’ regarding duke by grace Callaway
β’ my darling duke by grace Callaway
Thanks a bunch!!!!
Anyone else experiencing this? It's atrocious. Every match, especially ones where characters swap, has about a 1 second delay before anything occurs after the swap....it's massively increasing my clear times and is super annoying to play.
i switched over to linux yesterday, and the one problem i have seen is that the steam download rates are extremly slow. i saw online that disabling the ipv6 does the trick, but it didnt work for me. could anyone provide a solution of fix? Thanks!
TL;DR - Disable Steam Overlay
Library -> Collections ->Destiny 2 -> Properties -> General ->Very first thing
Ever since the anniversary update for Destiny 2 i've had terrible framerates to the point the nvidia control panel told me to lower my display resolution to less that 1400.
I've tried most, if not all, usual ways of dealing with this.
-Uninstalled and reinstalled the game
-Cleared the cache
-deleted the files in %appdata%
-uninstalled and reinstalled all Nvidia drivers
-Changed text file latency value from 1 to 0
Nothing worked. Before the update I would regularly get 120+ FPS on high settings, after that I was lucky if I got 80.
Just trying out of the blue i disabled the Steam overlay and my game started running like it did before. I didn't think about it at first cause with the steam overlay on before i never had problems. Hopefully Bungie or Steam fix this in the future but until now this was the only thing that worked for me.
Here is a very easy way to solve this annoying issue that takes only a few seconds to do and then undo after your update is completed.
Go to your list of drives, right click on it and select properties then select the "Hardware" tab. Choose the disk out of the list that you have Dead By Daylight on and then select properties. In the window that pops up choose "Change Settings" which will open another window. Click on the "Policies" tab and uncheck "Enable write caching on the device" and click "Ok" to close that window and close the other disk properties windows that were open.
Now run the update and when it is complete simply undo the fix by re-enabling write caching on your drive.
***************************************************************************************
In the video I'll link below first I copy my DBD folder which is currently 58GB which takes ~90 seconds to complete, just to show that my drive is capable of maintaining constant read & write speeds at the same time averaging ~600MB/sec.
Then I start todays update. You can see it starts off great the small download takes only a couple of seconds to complete and then it starts patching with disk usage ~600MB/sec which should take ~60 seconds to complete but instantly starts to drop rapidly. After 10 seconds it's down to 300MB/sec after another 10 seconds it's down to 200MB/sec and after 60 seconds it has gone down to under 20MB/sec with the estimated time remaining now at almost a half hour and if I had waited longer disk usage would have dropped into the single digits and estimated time remaining would be close to an hour but rather than have to make a video that's over an hour long I stop the update, then manually delete the update information out of steam so that I can restart the update completely after applying the fix to show the difference quickly..
Then I apply the fix and start the update again.
This time while it starts off slower than it did previously it doesn't slow to a crawl and actually completes the patching process in around 2 minutes or it would have but I stop it just before it finishes so that I can undo the fix and restart the update again and let it run for ~90 seconds to demonstrate the difference once more.
After your updating is complete you can undo this fix and carry on normally, until the next update until it gets fixed which could be awhile because... well you
... keep reading on reddit β‘Essentially I've had normal speedtests in the 600+mbps range since I upgraded to the 1gb package on WiFi on the Nokia router, same with steam downloads, but recently my speedtests have been limited to 200-300mpbs but steam download speeds have stayed the same regardless of the distance to the router.
I've contacted customer services many times but nothing has seemed to help. I know that I'm satisfied with download times on steam but I just can't think of why speed tests show much slower results on all devices.
Any reason for the difference between speedtest.com results and game downloads being different? Game downloads also applies to phone FYI.
Hi, can't find any similar posts online relating to this issue - seems to be pretty rare.
Specs:
x64-based PC
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz, 3601 Mhz, 4 Cores, 8 Logical processors
Installed Physical Memory (RAM): 16GB
His upload and download speeds are both higher than mine, at 85MB download and 265MB upload.
I'm going to be running a game this Sunday for my friends to play OpenTTD on one map, but he can't join for some reason. I've searched a while for a solution but none have worked. I'm hosting on steam.
Here are the things we have tried (that haven't worked):
This seems to be an issue with steam authorisation or something like that, as he gets stuck on the authorising page (2/6) when joining - even without a password. (Screenshots attached). He can join other lobbies that have a lot of people and much larger maps too, not sure why this is the case. Not all, just some.
The weirder thing is that when I tried to join his game, it worked. The obvious solution is to host the game on his server but we really don't want to do that.
If any of you are willing to chip in and suggest solutions - or even have had this problem yourself and are willing to help out - I'm all ears and I thank you greatly.

Cheers everyone, I hope people actually see this haha.
Hi SPD Community,
I am not ashamed to admit that I am unsure of the proper protocol for this situation. There seems to be some confusion in my department with everyone having a different idea of what the proper protocol is.
I was wondering what the proper protocol is for an autoclave aborting 33 minutes into a a standard load cycle Parameters: 275 / 10(exposure) / 35 (dry)
Does the whole load get rewrapped? Is the load able to just be ran again if the door doesn't open? What is the protocol?
Thanks!!
Note: I use a built gaming PC with an SSD, 16gb ram, a GTX 1660 (6gb ram), and a Ryzen 5 2400G. Not top of the line, but it ran emulation perfectly until today.
I've always been using the glide64 option and not angrylion, but the drop in performance literally happened overnight. Yesterday my N64 games ran fine in windowed mode, smooth FPS with no audio or video lag. Today, every rom I open is running at half speed with equally choppy audio/framerate. The only partial fix is running RetroArch in fullscreen, but even still I'm getting those same choppy audio/framerate drops occasionally in gameplay for a few seconds, during cutscenes, or when lots of effects are on-screen. This was never the case before. Also, I'm using an Xbox One controller wired via USB.
Does anyone know what might have happened to cause the sudden performance dip? Games are unplayable in windowed mode, and playable but annoying in fullscreen. Any settings I need to change or tweak for better performance, or any insight into what went wrong is greatly appreciated. No settings that I know of have been changed.
what is the best server for steam?
i get pretty bad speeds on most servers (even the ones close to qatar)
Yβall Iβm a die-hard CR girl but I feel like I need to start venturing out. Iβve done some serious damage to my TBR pile (all CR) and now I just feel weird. I donβt know why but I feel like I wonβt like HR at all but I need to diversify my reading profile and the HR world seems vast. Whatβs the most realistic HR that reads like a CR? Iβve tried reading the first book in the bridgerton series but Iβm stuck at 28% and I just donβt feel it. Iβve looked at descriptions of other popular HRs β ones recommended hereβ but none of them sound good to me. I tend to like stories that I can somehow relate to, or rather, just seem realistic, and because iβll never find myself marrying a duke, maybe thatβs why they donβt appeal to me?
I love slow-burn and realistic sex scenes. I love it when the guy has loved/liked the girl way before the girl. I hate third act break ups just because they refuse to communicate. My husband is 6β4 and incredibly funny, so I swoon over tall, funny MMCs.
Thank you all in advance π
Sorry to be posting yet another Friends Pass question but hopefully my partner and I will be able to post better content soon.
My partner has downloaded the friends pass version off Steam and I have the full version from Steam, and after 2 days of trying we are still unable to join the game together.
I load the game first cause I have the full version, I go into Play Online > Invite then Origin Friends list loads > I invite my partner > Origin says she doesn't have the game.
So instead I get her to load the game instead (i.e. the Friends Pass version from Steam) and now when I try to invite Origin says she is offline.
This is doing both of our heads in especially since we've never used Origin before, if anyone knows why this is happening we would really appreciate the help.
Edit: I've been over all the EA support guides for this and still can't figure it out, I'm a Big Brain I know.
Hello! I've been having this issue for as long as I can remember, but it's just started to get annoying recently with some of th larger games I'm downloading off of Steam. On the app I have for my wifi router, it tells me that my download speeds should be on average 950mb/s, but on steam I am only getting at max 12 or 13mb/s. I've changed my region to the server closest to me, checked for driver updates, cleared my download cache, and have reset my wifi numerous times. Any other tips or suggestions?
