A list of puns related to "Sidecar (cocktail)"
So we can all agree that Schwartz and Sandyโs is uninspired but what do we think about the name sidecar? Itโs still personal to them and itโs better imo than Schwartz and Sandyโs

Happy Monday! Mondays can sometimes be rough- experiencing the loss of the weekend and the start of a long week ahead. Sometimes there just needs to be a celebration of sorts to look forward to... and for me, that means going back to the classics. Actually, if I had to rank my favorite classic cocktails this drink would be up there in the top 3 for sure- a Sidecar.
There are many variations on the Sidecar although itโs historically a mix of Cognac, orange liqueur and lemon juice. Itโs such a favorite in our house that weโve had an opportunity to play around with the recipe quite a bit over the years. This version has stuck around as being our favorite. I also might be a little obsessed with the Asbach Uralt Brandy- itโs soooooo good!
1.5 ounces Asbach Uralt Brandy
1 oz Camus Cognac
1.25 oz Cointreau
1 oz fresh lemon juice
Shake all ingredients with ice and pour into a coupe glass. Garnish with orange peel.
In the past year or so I have found my favorite everyday drink - the bourbon sidecar. I make mine as follows:
2 parts Woodford Reserve
1 part Cointreau
Splash of orange bitters
2 rocks
To any of you that also like this drink, how do you make yours? I'm mainly interested in other sweet/smooth bourbons that work well in this cocktail- I went with WR simply because I can get a 1.75L for around $60. Looking forward to hearing your recipes!
Before keto I was an avid cocktail fan, and in the last 7 months my cabinet has seen very little action apart from when guests come over I have relegated myself to rum and coke zero. I have made it my mission to find and share cocktails that can be made for under 5 carbs for an occasional treat (as always, if it fits your macros and also be warned keto noobies that your alcohol tolerance is decreased so a single drink is enough, enjoy responsibly).
For those who can enjoy one drink and are wanting something different, here is my take on the Havana sidecar, I reduced the lemon and Cointreau as they have sugars, the orange bitters was used to pick the drink up, orange essence may also be used, and also orange skin
1.5 oz Havana 3yr rum (I ran out of gold, but still works)
0.5 oz Cointreau (3.5 net)
0.5 oz fresh lemon juice (1.3 net)
2 dashes orange bitters
Shake well with ice and double strain... 4.8 net carbs

Recipe-
Everything into a shaker with ice, then fine strained
So I decided to try something new this evening and make a sidecar for the first time since i've never made anything with cognac before, and the lesson of the day is either I really hate cognac, or a sidecar just isn't the drink for me. But hey, at least the appearance looks good!
