A list of puns related to "Shift Out and Shift In characters"
I used to play on Roll20 quite a lot and I joined a Dark Heresy game as an Arbitrator. The game is going alright but we have a βThat Guyβ who was constantly causing issues including killing civilians, antagonising contacts and generally being a dick. Eventually the GM agrees to kick the player which we all agreed was great news.
As a quick note, I was the only European based player and everyone else was US based and I also worked nights. The games started about 12pm my time and I finished work at 6am.
I get home from work the morning of our first session after βthat guyβ was kicked and had a message from the GM asking me to jump on Skype as he needed to talk to me
Turns out that his friend was joining the campaign and he wanted to be an arbitrator as well but GM only wanted one of each class in the party and heβd decided I had to create a new character from one of the remaining available classes and I was the only one who had to do this. To justify this he said he was restarting the whole campaign from scratch.
By the time heβs done talking to me and making a new character (he wanted to go over backgrounds in depth) it is 10am. Iβve had no sleep and the game starts in 2 hours, which meant it was pointless for me to even try at that point. Iβd told GM that Iβd had no sleep because of him and asked if we could put the game off for a couple of hours so I could get something and he refused.
Game starts the exact same way as before, Iβm struggling to stay awake out of pure exhaustion and a little bit of boredom from repeating the exact same encounters. Im also slightly annoyed because his friend is playing as my character and they hadnβt even bothered changing his name. About 45 minutes in I pass out from exhaustion. I couldnβt help it, it wasnβt my fault.
When I came back too and wake up I had a paragraph from him about βrespectβ and how Iβm a βcuntβ for passing out and falling asleep during his game.
Which I answered back with how he was disrespectful for giving my character to his friend, how heβd kept me awake knowing that Iβd had no sleep to go through creating a new character when I shouldnβt have had to, how stupid things like backgrounds could have been fleshed out between sessions and that this problem wouldnβt have even occurred if he had just dealt with the βthat guyβ situation earlier so that we didnβt need to reset the campaign or heβd allowed two arbitrators.
He tells me to fuck off and blocks me completely.
My sister wil pick her up and take her for walks , dropping her off at my parents house , she also sleeps over about 1-2days a week. Because of that I feel like she likes being at my parents house and is sad when sheβs at my apt with me! She mostly just sleeps when sheβs with me , she loves going to the park which I take her to twice a day , we go on walks, on the weekends go hiking, but when we get home she goes right to her bed . Iβm worried sheβs sad when sheβs here and would rather be at my parents house. Any suggestions on what to do .

So.. I decided to support the company I love in another way and Saturday 11/21/21 was my second shift:
We were instructed not to promote the stock talk, but if approached by an interested customer it was ok to smile and say "we have something for you!" and then hand them the sticker. Since my shift leader didn't care about how many stickers I handed out I would show Apes 7 in my hand and say 7, then show them 4 in my hand and say 4 and them show them 1 and say 1. THEY LOVED IT! Oh and I wore my astronaut looking back at earth shirt
This was my first shift where I was actually speaking to customers as my training was completed the shift before! I was assigned with greeting each customer as they came in and directing them to the area of the store where they would find the item that were shopping for. Most customers were coming in for the new Pokemon release on Switch and were ecstatic to get their hands on a copy of the game. We were starting to see some early Black Friday shoppers and some needed my help with gift ideas, it was so fun helping the soccer mom's find the perfect gift for their kid!
I worked with a completely different group of employees this time and didn't even see my hiring Manager until my shift ended and his began. This new group of employees was also happy and all wanted to know my story as to why I chose to work at GameStop, I simply told them with a smile "I have a vested interest in seeing the company succeed" This shift of employees seemed happy and eager for the store do well!
If you want to support the company we love, the stock we like

I'm interested in how this is done. Thanks! :)
I'm writing a novel, la-de-da, but I'm finding it difficult switching from the author's perspective and voice to the protags perspective. It's not that I'm having trouble writing it, just having trouble telling the audience that "hey, this character is no longer speaking". Any tips?
EDIT: Seems like a lot of you are saying this has been around for awhile. And that most of us relate. Do you think this will change over time, or is the fact that this has been around for decades without much change a sign that weβre doomed to this way of life for longer? What are some ways we can help this phenomenon or prevent it? Love the discussion ladies. Letβs keep it going!
> After watching Luka Doncic close out Wednesday's road win at Sacramento and then Portland at home tonight, Mavericks officials are hugely encouraged by the recent shift they've made in their substitution patterns with Luka Doncic following his recent four-game injury absence
> For much of the season, Doncic played the entire first quarter and the entire third. He is now taking breathers in those quarters and couldn't have been more ruthless late tonight in combining with Tim Hardaway Jr. and Seth Curry to turn back Portland's comeback
One way these people are caught is when the hospitals notice that many more patients need to be resuscitated after a particular nurse's shift. It seems to me a program should be flagging these anomalies asap. Not sure how to flair this.
edit:
Thanks for your replies. Certainly there's a danger of error when the idea of automated decision making crops up, but that wasn't what I had in mind when I wrote the post: I'd think computers require oversight for medical decisions in every case, at least for the time being.
I envision 'big data' doing a lot of fascinating things with the tremendous amount of information we can collect. But that doesn't change the concept of oversight - clearly, computer prograns should not be making any big decisions about employees, whether in a hospital or other work environment, without significant human review, probably by several levels of reviewers.
But perhaps lives could be saved if someone had these statistical oddities pointed out to them early on - and were available to more than one hospital: In the article I posted, one hospital forced the serial killer out but didn't tell the other hospital why, which simply has to stop. I understand there are legal complications there, but if both hospitals had the same data to review, with statistical oddities point out to them, perhaps he would've been interviewed by the police, instead of re-hired.

I wanted a way to track which weapons I had (and didn't have) so I knew what gear I would want to use limit breakers on at a glance. I am not a fan of the system to search weapons provided. From there, I got curious about how many crystals I needed to level someone from 1-50 (1-60) so I added a section for that. So I made this document to help me keep track of everything and thought the general public would like it, tell me how to improve it, or tell me I wasted my time. I can be very indecisive/forgetful sometimes so having a document with this information helps.
Either way, I hope it helps someone.
Notes/Thoughts:
Some of the weapon names might be slightly different due to translation error from the wiki (where I got the info). If there is something else I can add, let me know. If there are optimizations or automations I can make, please let me know.
Edit: replaced link with a sharable one (editing allowed)
Edit2: replaced link with a view only one (was reminded that I should never trust the internet)
Edit3: added a count to keep track of how many crystals you need to max out per character. Note the calculation works by giving you the number of crystals you need to get to 50. Once your character level is >=50, it shows what you need to get to 60. Still figuring out the best way to visualize the gear.
After screwing up terminals for 20 years, Iβve just learned that many terminals have a βG1β line-drawing character set, and that βShift Outβ replaces lowercase βkβ through βwβ with line and box drawing characters. βShift Inβ (decimal 15) restores the character set.
I can't tell you how many times when I am free looking and I spot someone, then when I let go of ALT I have to turn around real fast to go find him again, then I lose sight or he then spots me and it screws me all up.
I think it would be cool if during free look if we could right click or something, it would indicate that I want my character to stop and spin to this specific direction I'm looking at instead of resetting back to the front of where my character is positioned.
Edit - I guess what I'm saying, if I'm running in real life and I look to my left I'm not going to suddenly (let go of alt) which makes you look forward and stop to then look back to the left. I'm going to instantly stop and keep looking left.
I've worked in hotels since I was 19. I'm 24 now. I have a bit of experience in different hotels in different cities. This is by far the biggest shitshow I've ever walked into. If you wanna look at my profile and see the previous post I made here 2 days ago, that was only the tip of the iceberg of bullshit.
2 nights ago, there is a literal mountain of laundry in front of me. And I mean MOUNTAIN. Meanwhile, the phone is ringing off the hook, guests consistently need me at the guest, but I'm expected by housekeeping and by management to be a slave to the laundry. And I'm working alone (as always). Um. Ok.
So I'm doing everything as best I can when suddenly a man appears at the desk. He's a bit disheveled and I immediately got a sinking feeling in my stomach - something wasn't right here. He goes on to tell me, entirely unprompted, he's been single for 10 years, he's thinking of killing his elderly father, he thinks I'd make a good wife, he's wondering if I'm fertile because he's 36 and would like some kids. Just ENTIRELY unhinged. I went into a full blown panic attack because he kept fiddling in his pocket and I'm like does he have a knife? A gun? Is he going to kidnap me?
I told him to leave or I'd call the police. He yelled some incoherent stuff and then hung out in our entrance area for awhile. I called my front desk manager and, crying and shaking, explained the situation. She asked me...
ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I asked her to come in and help me and she said no. Wow.
Once she hung up the phone, I was still panicking and I was like, you know what, screw this. I packed up my stuff, texted my manager I felt unsafe and was about to sprint to my car and lock the doors, and I left out of a side entrance away from crazy man.
The guy was in the parking lot. In his car. Texting someone on a flip phone. I was not about to stick around for this madness.
Of course when I got home, I had about 5 texts from my manager... again... about the LAUNDRY!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME. And how me leaving the hotel was unsafe for the guests, etc, even though she lives literally 5 mins away and got there soon after. The guests have locked doors between them and this psycho. I don't.
I texted my coworker that I'm friends with and let her know that if she continues to work there she should take mace with her to work. I told her the situation etc. She was incredibly kind and understanding and furious for me.
The next day she texts me while she's at wor
