Let's start 9:29 in the 4th quarter. Philadelphia up 13. They really don't need offense and need to focus on shutting down offensive weapons of the Hawks.
Hawks have so many scorers, but they are not superstars and are inconsistent. Today was the Lou Williams day. Also in the clutch time, best play is to exploit the worst defender. Strong play by Lou to force feed Gallo to destroy Seth.
Just for reference again, NBA.com has Seth Curry at 5 percentile for isolation defense and gives up 1.2 PPP. Seth has no wingspan and cannot contest any type of shot. He never blocked a jumpshot in his career. I don't think when he stretches his hand it even blocks anyone's vision. You can just score at will on him.
9:29 - Lou Williams has Seth Curry guarding him. Capela sets a pretty weak pick that Seth Curry just stops at the pick and can't recover. It forces Joel to guard Lou closer for an easy alley-oop.
8:27 - Man I have no idea how Seth Curry is still on the court. Lou just torches him to the rim. Seth might have one of the slowest feet in the league.
7:21 - Seth Curry looks lost on defense again. Lowest IQ I've seen in a while since Enes Kanter. Easy shot for Lou Williams.

In the trade time it was presented as Dallas needed defense and Philly needed shooting so it's a win-win situation for both teams. But right now Richardson is providing nothing for his team, he was -8 in only 6 minutes today. -15, -13, -10, 0 before. He's not defending or shooting well. Everytime he's on the floor, Clippers make a run.
If this Dallas team had Curry he would've provided the much needed scoring and playmaking while Luka on the bench.

Seth has a father (Dell) and brother (some guy named Stephen) who played in the league, as did his father-in-law (Doc Rivers) and two brothers-in-law (Austin Rivers and Damion Lee) for 5 close-ish relatives who played in the league.
The only other family tree like this I can think of are the Grants (Jerami, Jerian, Jerai, Horace, and Harvey) but each Grant only has 4 relatives who played.
Not only is Curry slaughtering J Rich in %, the volume is so different because of how unplayable Richardson is. Remember this was essentially a 1:1 swap.

Simmons was +17, with Curry & Harris being +11. They had a great effort in the absence of their MVP candidate.
Literally no one else on this team can reliably play the PG position at a good level for 12+ minutes besides Luka.
Even if J Rich played up to his standard, it’s baffling that management looked at Burke and Brunson and thought “that’ll do” and shipped out a great bench player WHO WANTED TO BE HERE.
J Rich looks like he’s here for a paycheck and that’s it. No heart. Seth had toughness and the skillset this team needed.

Seth is a solid 2nd ball handler and elite shooter, he fits almost perfectly next to the Dallas backcourt. Why did the Mavs trade him away where now teams only have to worry about Doncic?
Don't get me wrong I love Seth curry as a salty dallas fan that was pissed to trade someone we developed. He was killing it for the most part but idk if I only noticed this but in the fourth they made sure to target Seth curry so much. So is he worth the liability in the fourth or would you bench him to take liability away?
Richardson really struggled and the Mavs were desperate for other guys who can create their offense. Brunson wasn't good and Carlisle even went so far as to try Trey Burke in game 7, searching for ball handlers / creators.
Is Curry enough to turn the series for the Mavs?
Fans all knew game was over before tip-off and at half time when Scott Brooks kept 6'0" Raul Neto in the starting lineup.
Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris are just shooting practice shots in the paint. I've read in some comment threads that the Sixers were "hot". No, Ben Simmons post-up on Beal or Westbrook is not a high variance shot. They are easy buckets with low variance.
Getting hot is from jumpers near or above 3 point lines. Those are high variance shots where people get hot. Getting hot from points in the paint just doesn't make sense as it is a low variance shot.
Just some examples of the Sixers destroying the short players of the Wizards all day below... It's about exploiting mismatches. Simmons and Tobias always had a mismatch so it is easy buckets actually. Embiid's matchup is a bit harder with a player his size.
Ben Simmons destroys Russ in the paint. This is not a low variance shot. You knew it was going in.
Low variance shot by Harris. He missed but will keep attacking mismatches.
"Size don't matter" Brooks just doesn't factor in offensive rebounding as a key weakness. Easy bucket.

Not sure why Hawks are just dancing around trying to shoot against Ben Simmons and Thybulle when you can easily exploit Seth Curry. Seth Curry has no wingspan to contest and no lateral quickness. Just easy buckets. He gets lost on defense so much. Stop playing a "system offense" and just exploit Curry until he's benched.

Wizards series was just checkers vs. Chess. Doc kept exploiting the short players of the Wizards, e.g. Simmons/Harris on the point guards, and today, Dwight Howard beats up Slopez.

If the Hawks want to beat the Sixers, they need to focus on exploiting mismatches. Don't be like Scott Brooks with his offense just doing the same stuff over and over with Beal drive on Simmons/Green and trying to draw a foul or hit a crazy layup. Westbrook/center pick and roll was easy to defend after bringing Ish Smith's defender to cover the paint.
It was clear Doc Rivers in the Q3 wanted to exploit mismatches. Destroy Raul Neto. This is what I wanted Raul to do to Seth Curry. They both cannot play any defense. Unfortunately, Scott Brooks doesn't adjust to put any defender on Curry. He also doesn't attack Seth Curry. He continues to let Beal just chuck up shots and go 3/8 with 3 turnovers in the 3rd quarter.
