A list of puns related to "Serfdom"
It won't be long know until we are simply a nation of renters:
Welcome To Serfdom: Americans Face Prolonged Housing Crisis | by Ryan Canady | Jun, 2021 | Medium
Now before you accuse me of being Llamaphobic i'm not i have nothing against them BUT fuck those fluffy overgrown pillow looking sticky birdie sanders voting white giraffes, they aren't even human and should be worked to death and we should not regard their emotions as they are literally not human and should make stuff like phones, toys and slippers. The world is to soft when it comes to these creatures and they spit a lot (i know from experience, they also have no sense of humour and spit all the time) they are unhygienic, they smell like they haven't showered in years. If you have ever met a real Guanaco or llama ect you will understand they are they are the reason south america is so shitty and they tank the Peruvian economy by stealing (did i mention they all like to steal and make up probably 80% of all robberies in countries where llamas are found). We should punish them, we should send them around the world to separate them from their families btw
Slaves trade for countries like Brasil, Africans tribes, China ecc; specifics laws for slavery for example safe regulation or Freedom of Womb
Started my first game as Austria in HFM and was wondering how do I get rid of the serfs in the empire? I know Russia has a decision reform they're able to do to abolish it, but what about Austria?
I've been reading well-known right-wing books recently like Atlas Shrugged, Gulag Archipelago etc (it's my guilty pleasure lol) and I wanted to know if any of you guys read The Road to Serfdom. Tell me if it is worth reading (regardless of the theoretical accuracy that is. Most right-wing books have shit theory takes but I'm talking more about the entertainment value here)

Background: In 1950, the People's Republic of China invaded and took control of the Kingdom of Tibet. Later reports of human rights abuses in the region lead to a popular movement in the Western World to "Free Tibet," advocating for Tibetan independence and (generally) a return to rule by the Dali Lama. This movement is controversial, however, due to the fact that Tibet at the time was feudal and theocratic. People who oppose the movement often mention some of the extreme torture which took place in the Kingdom of Tibet, including skinning people alive, and contrast that with the viewpoint held by many westerners that it was some kind of enlightened paradise. At least on Reddit, a lot of this debate essentially boils down to one's thoughts on China.
Drama:
BUT THERE WAS A HOLLYWOOD MOVIE STARRING BRAD PITT WHERE THE MONKS WERE PEACEFUL AND KIND!
That conveniently downplayed his character being an SS officer.
OP cites Michael Parenti, people debate about if he's a verifiable source

Having done some reading lately about the state of freed African Americans after emancipation from slavery in the direct aftermath of the American Civil War, having no material or economic base from with which to generate wealth many of the recently freed slaves were all but forced to become sharecroppers on many of the same agricultural estates they were just freed from. It seems that they just went from chattel slavery to serfdom.
Is there any meaningful distinction to be made from Sharecropping and serfdom?
My best friend went on a date a few weeks ago after meeting this dude on hinge and chatting for a while. He was polite, employed (a CA), had a place...yada yada. All the bare minimums for even glancing at a man.
He invited her out to dinner at a local restaurant. She and I chatted about it and I told her "why not? Its a nice busy place, close to your house, and they've got a great steak sandwich. So you may lose 60min of your life, but you need the break"
All accounting ladies here know its busy season and my bf (also a CA) can barely sleep with all the overtime. So she takes the opportunity, gets dolled up, and meets him.
All great the first 20min. Then they order food, and he apologises to her because he needs to address a work thing. I get it. It happens, you need to excuse yourself to answer a 5min call. I could let it slide once. But nooooo, this gargantuan scrote pulls out his fricking laptop!!!
And proceeds to work for the next twenty minutes even after food arrives. She calls me from the bathroom in tears.
I tell her to grab her shit and leave. And if she doesn't I'll come for her and and drag her home. So she musters up the courage, picks her jacket off the chair and walks out. He doesn't even notice. π€¦ββοΈ
15min later when she was on my sofa, beer in hand, he finally calls, perhaps realising she's not coming back. We block and delete him.
She was and still is mortified. Imagine. A first date, restaurant full of people, and this finance bros job was soooo important he chose to do it on a date. I'm still dumbfounded.
He found her on LinkedIn a few days ago and asked her if they could keep talking until busy season is over and then they could go out again.
Loooooool. You didn't even go out the first time. I think this was a real lesson for her. If he wanted to, he would.
I told her, you are busy too. You make 2hrs of time a week for me, dedicated time. You make time to eat and exercise even though you are exhausted. And this loser couldn't give you an hour. Pass.
I've had similar experiences with finance guys. They think they shit gold and time is money, but most of them live like peasants. They think they're busier than doctors, business owners, and lawyers...π€£
If you find yourself interested in one of them, be prepared to vet even harder. They're great at putting up a solid image, but it's usually rotten on the inside.
It seems of late the Nano community, understandably, has been focused on the issue of spam. I think we need to ask on how long of a time horizon are we viewing any potential changes.
If I simplify the past, present and future:
So what can I do? Wait even longer, ok, how long? Buy more Nano, ok, how much more? can I afford it? how long before I have to buy even more? Stake my nano with a custodian and ride their big balance coattails? Seems like the most reliable. I'm at the mercy of their fees but at least I know my transaction will go through. (Why would I even still use Nano, why not just go to a fee based network)
I'm lifting a lot of this from some recent forum discussion (link below, post 84 to 91 cover the topic then the trail goes cold):
https://forum.nano.org/t/election-scheduler-and-prioritization-revamp/1837/85?u=zack
I get it's easy to brush off some of these concerns since we've, one, never been anywhere near the point of organic demand for TPS exceeding available TPS. Two, never had the need or even the opportunity to stake Nano with a custodian account for better service. Three, assume that future TPS growth will solve all our issues (but what if custodians have an incentive to spam out that extra TPS?)
We're all here shouting "no fees" and "no miners", is living in serfdom of custodians any better?
How many BTC holders really thought they'd one day be paying $20 per transaction? Let's not pretend we can't fall down a similar slippery slope.
