I read this sometime between 2013-2017. It was adult fiction of some kind, but I can't remember if it was a stand alone short story, a chapter in an anthology, or a short novel.
The general plot follows a woman who works in a perfume shop, designing custom scents for customers. She has some sort of everyday superpower for finding their perfect scent. The only other portion I remember is that she falls for another woman, who's perfect scent is her own favorite scent: strawberries in summer.
Francis Ford Coppola has backed a theory by Winona Ryder that she and Keanu Reeves might be married.
The director of the 1992 film Bram Stoker’s Dracula, which starred Ryder and Reeves, corroborated Ryder’s story that a wedding scene involving the pair could be legally binding.
After filming concluded, Coppola said he was unhappy with a stylised version of the scene and decided that “having the real wedding ceremony as it might be in that religion [Greek Orthodox Christianity] would be beautiful”.
He then filmed a ceremony in a Greek Orthodox church in Los Angeles with a real priest. “This is pretty authentic and I think very beautiful, because we actually did the ceremony and had the priest do the ceremony.,” Coppola said. “So in a sense, when we were all done, we realised that Keanu and Winona really are married as a result of this scene and this ceremony.”
Ryder first suggested the idea at the weekend to Entertainment Weekly, saying: “We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to God, I think we’re married in real life. In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married.”
Footage of the ceremony is spliced in the film with the death of a friend, who has been turned into a vampire. Ryder and Reeves drink from a goblet and are blessed with a wreath of white roses before kissing energetically. Neither is seen speaking, and it is unknown whether the priest is using the pair’s real names or their characters’.
Ryder’s latest collaboration with Reeves is a romcom called Destination Wedding. It is their fourth film together, after Dracula, A Scanner Darkly and The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.
I watched this movie for the first time on Cartoon Network, and this was at least 10 years back, and from that moment till now I have been very fascinated by this movie. Even though I'm not a Hindu, I was completely immersed in the story and was intrigued by the characters which until then I had never heard of.
Something I just realized while watching the movie was that it felt very similar to a Studio Ghibli film and what do you know, it’s a Japanese production.

Edit 2: turns out there are 2 English dubs, one Indian and another American , and the one I have linked below and the one we all saw as a kid is the Indian version, not the American version with Bryan Cranston and James Earl Jones. There has been some good discussion lately about the use of the hounds, particularly Brutus and Loof to track Halbach's scent around the Avery property and surrounding Radandt Quarry system.
According to the available info.... Brutus made many positive hits out in the quarries, the edge of the Radandt and Avery property (Conveyer Belt Road) and of course the RAV4 on the Avery property itself.... he also made the alerts on Kuss Road too!
Her Scent
Loof scented all sorts of strange areas on a positive track for TH. We have the Fauske report which has Loof scenting around the Janda Van (of course since Halbach took pictures of the thing) the exterior of Steves truck, trailer and garage (allegedly stopped by BEAR), Loof "exhibited" interest at the burn barrel where electronics were discovered "partially" destroyed by flame. Then we have Loof continuing down the cornfield road on a strong track toward Kuss Road. The track intensifying at the Kuss Road Cul De Sac.... where surprisingly, or not.... Loof and his handler were stopped on order of Sheriff Pagel.
Interesting stuff indeed.
Search hounds were present on the commandeered Avery property from the 5th of November through the 10th of November 2005.
In the reports handlers had Brutus sweep inside of Steve's trailer. He alerted with trained bark in the bathroom and laundry room of Steves house... Makes sense because his blood was found in that area. But nowhere in the reports can I find anything of Brutus being taken inside of the Gargage where Halbach was allegedly murdered by gunfire. I find that Interesting.
- Side note.... Brutus positively hit on Chuck Avery's front door and inside of his trailer, the bedroom, the bed and on a pile of laundry. Mmmmmm.
On Monday November 7th, Brutus's team was sent to check on a site on Kuss Road at the request of Detective Dedering.... Brutus alerted to an area of disturbed earth in particular a shovel lying next to it. The Team was then cleared from the area The team returned later but the shovel had been removed to be checked separately. (again zero photographic documentation of this area exist that I am aware of ) Later Brutus was brought back and once again alerted a second time on the area of disturbed earth.
- Im going to theorize that there was a burial of some kind near Kuss Road but it was not at the GPS coordinate Dedering freely supplied in his CASO report.
