What ever happened to Martin Brest?

Martin Brest just disappeared from film industry after his Gigli (2003) failure. Though he also directed movies Scent of a Woman, Midnight Run (one of my favs), Beverly Hills Cop and Meet Joe Black which are solid movies.

Did Gigli really destroyed his life and make him quit cinema? There is literally no info about him after that movie.

Whatever happened to movie director Martin Brest?

Martin Brest was a movie director who directed movies like Midnight Run, Beverly Hills Cop, Scent of a Woman, Meet Joe Black, and of course the infamous Gigli. I know Gigli was a terrible film but I'm sure he could bounce back if he wants to. Ben Affleck has bounced back and has done some decent movies and I'm sure if Martin Brest gets offered a good movie to direct with a good script I'm sure his career will run smoothly again.

Regarding Martin Brest's 'Gigli'...

Just saw this "movie" for the first time, and I have a few quick takeaways...

  • I really hope a Brest series is coming, because this movie is a truly fascinating disaster and I would LOVE some context.
  • This movie looks like it cost $300 and a couple loaves of bread for feeding the cast/crew but NOPE, 75 MILLION BUCKS.
  • Lastly, Justin Bartha should be thrown in jail for his performance in this thing. An absolutely ruinous series of choices that I'm shocked he's somewhat recovered from.

Has anybody else seen this one yet? Hoping we get an in depth analysis/autopsy by #thetwofriends one day soon. Also because Midnight run slaps

Help me find the film "Hot Tomorrows" (1977) by director Martin Brest!

I have known about this movie for years (probably close to 10 years at this point) but never been able to find a copy of it to download or stream.

I was satisfied when I found a 10-minute clip where the Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo perform in a strange bar. Part of this scene is currently uploaded to YouTube but it is only about half of the clip.

I would love to see the whole movie but at least want to find the full 10-minute clip again! I had it on my hard drive for years but have since lost that hard drive and it is killing me that I cannot find it. Please help!

Here is a link to the first half of the clip that is on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iv4iRaeLFA

Woman from the "Opi and Omi" sign hears the verdict: a 1.200 euro fine

Original article in Dutch: https://sporza.be/nl/2021/12/09/vrouw-van-opi-en-omi-bord-kent-haar-straf-1200-euro-boete~1639055994776/

Deepl translation:

The correctional court in Brest has ruled: the young woman who caused a massive fall in the first stage of the Tour at the end of June with the sign "Allez Opi-Omi!" gets away with a fine of 1,200 euros. She also has to pay a symbolic euro to the French riders' union UNCP; there is no prison sentence.

The public prosecutor had however asked for a "warning sentence of 4 months on probation". However, it became a simple fine of 1,200 euros.

On June 26, during the passage in the municipality of Sizun, the 31-year-old woman had the whole (cycling) world after her, after she had shown a sign to the TV cameras with her back to the approaching peloton, resulting in a massive crash.

She disappeared without trace for a while, but she turned herself in to the police a few days later. On October 14 her trial took place, she was prosecuted for "endangering others" and "inflicting unintentional injuries resulting in an incapacity for work of up to 3 months."

Some 50 riders were involved in the mass fall. Among them were the Spaniard Marc Soler and German Tony Martin, who was the first to hit the sign, suffered serious injuries.

The images went around the world. The woman's message was addressed to her grandparents; her grandmother is of German origin.

Kaiserreich 0.19 - 'March on the Drina'

Only a month and a half after our most recent major update, we are proud to present 0.19 - 'March on the Drina'. This patch brings us to Serbia and Bulgaria, with both nations undergoing total reworks, offering many varied new paths and plenty of expanded content. Also included in this patch is the long-awaited focus tree for Haiti, our final North American nation that was without its own focus tree. And of course, there are the usual other additions, new icons and graphics, minor changes and bug fixes that you have come to expect. We hope you enjoy it!

  • The KR4 team

Changes

Notable Additions

  • Added SocLib and PatAut paths for Lithuania, which were not included in the initial release.
  • Socialist Russia now forms its own temporary faction (the Eastern Front of the Third Internationale) with any syndicalist neighbours, and will only fully join the Third Internationale after Germany is defeated. The main purpose of this is to aid the AI, preventing it from frequently sending its forces back and forth between the two fronts of the war.
  • Social Democrat White Ruthenia may now be convinced to defect to the Internationale by socialist Russia… at a price.

SERIOUS: This subreddit needs to understand what a "dad joke" really means.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Just because it's a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke

Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB

Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"

I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual

So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes

r/unclejokes for dirty jokes

r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC

r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes

Punchline !

Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub

Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat
