Guys, I've seen a lot of Adam Sandler movies. He has starred in around 40 movies in his long career and late this year I realized I have seen more Adam Sandler movies than any other actor. So thought it be a good idea to try to watch the 15ish I was missing... I thought it was a good idea. I managed to watch 5 more this year. The issue I ran into was, I had already seen the good Sandman movies. I only had the crap left. So I basically had to space them out a bit so I wouldn't lose my mind completely. Fingers crossed one of them are a diamond in the rough. Spoilers, 3/5 made my bottom 5 movies of the year so far.

This film is bad. Looking back on Sandler's career this is the turning point. He is coming off two big successes of Wedding Singer and Big Daddy. And after this movie he never made a comedy better than his 90's films. This movie is about the son of Satan going to Earth to save his dad after his brothers do something, IDK, it's dumb. This was a big swing, but a complete miss. Sandler's voice in this one is dumb and annoying and the special effects are rough. I know it was 2000 but it looks like a PS1 game at times. No one should watch this movie, and I regret deciding I should watch all the Sandman movies.
Score - 1/5

This film is REAL Bad. Also pretty racist at times? Is it just me or is it weird that Rob Schneider has played every race imaginable and he is just a white guy? The first ten mins of this movie is actually pretty good. Sandler is legit ripped for this movie. He plays Israel's top solider, which mean he's basically a superhero. And a real superhero, he catches bullets in his mouth, he is super strong and fast, and he beats up a whole army single-handedly. That movie could have been interesting. In 2008 all superhero movies were so serious, Sandler could have made the first comedy superhero, you know the most popular movies of today. But he didn't. He took Zohan to New York so the protagonist could live out his dream to be a hairdresser. The idea is not great, but it doesn't matter. The jokes in this movie are so bad they hammer away anything good. The Rule of 3 does not exist to Sandler, he made about 50 Humus jokes? The plot was dumb, I didn't care about that characters, they were all too wacky to be meaningful. Also the product
... keep reading on reddit β‘I just looked up the rating so Sandy wexler and it's pretty low 27% on RT. IT IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST ADAM SANDLER MOVIE OF THE DECADE....imo. Even my Friend said "it's so bad that it's good" that movie had my sides hurting from laughing. I know Sandler signed a five movie deal with Netflix and they be was low effort and frankly unwatchable. Except for Sandy wexler. Maybe it's cause I went in with low, low expectations but it's funny. The protagonist is treated like dog turds. (more like dogs chew toy lol) but he prevails and makes it. All while never changing who he is. Like I don't want to spoil it for anyone. But his integrity almost keeps him from his one shot at his dream. Also somehow he's a stand up kinda guy while still being a habitual liar....
Bring on the downvotes, I am currently watching Sandy Wexler on Netflix and I've been laughing out loud a bunch of times, and believe me, I was done with Adam Sandler. I found absolutely no redeeming qualities in Ridiculous Six and The Do-Over, I know some people can enjoy his latest movies with a guilty pleasure approach but that was not even the case for me.
Point being, Sandy Wexler on Netflix is worth a shot if you can handle Adam Sandler's performance because I admit it's very stupid, but his character keeps lying and I think they have some pretty good jokes in the script. If you gave up on Adam Sandler, maybe give it a shot, I can't promise you will like it but I am enjoying so far. (The 2h11 runtime seems a bit excessive, I am halfway through and I admit I was surprised I still had 1 hour left but it's fun, a good 6/10 so far).
Just watched for the first time. I understand it has the level of Adam sandler recycled plot/voice to it. It was really well written. It's Sandlers 25th derivative of Bobby Boucher, which I'm pretty sure is a derivative of some SNL character. Yet, it's much more of a mature movie for him. Adam has the money to get the cameos for a good Hollywood movie. The character of Sandy Wexler is one of his best characters in years. It's no magnum opus like Jack n Jill, obviously, but it was a good watch.
What Dean Semler did with the lighting and Adam Sandlerβs face was amazing.
The movie is fucking trash first off. I was expecting it from some Adam Sandler comedy. What I didn't expect was the digs at Asians in general, jokes targeting Asian females, or the blatant WMAF. (seriously this shit in every movie is getting so bad that it's more noticeable than product placement)
I didn't have the stomach to go more than an hour but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want to cut the asian jokes short.
Do yourself a favor and skip this one.
It's Adam Sandlers new Netflix movie. It's good in my opinion, but the funny thing is that they made fun of the Atkins diet, showing Sandler eating 10+ bacon strips and forgoing carbs but then drinking multiple cokes. I know Atkins isint keto but it's pretty close.

I found out it was based off sandy wernick, who discovered adam sandler and became his manager. He is so quirky and weird. There were a lot of celeb cameos in it. Adam sandler has this whiny and wacky voice throughout the movie. I guess sandy had a weird voice. It was funny and sweet. A little long though. Any other movies like it?
