His take was Immense opportunity and immense upside with some head shaking drops mixed in from time to time.
He broke out early catching this bomb from Ben and taking it to the house. He had a similar long catch the week before for 47 yards that was slightly under thrown or it woulda gone the distance as well.
If you look at his measurables you'll see he's a metrics freak complete with a 99th percentile SPARQ score.

97th percentile burst score
97th percentile catch radius
This guy was built to be a deep ball/big play receiver. The drops are there as advertised but with the target volume (more than AB last week, tied with him this week) I think it's easily canceled out by his upside. If you plucked him off waivers or have been stashing hoping for a breakout I think you have yourself a must start WR3/flex play in good matchups (hello Miami in week 6...) with week winning upside everytime he takes the field.
Coates is only owned in 11.6% of ESPN leagues and 17% of Yahoo leagues, and yet he is the receiver with the 2nd most targets on the Steelers offense.
Coates has not had a game with less than 50 yards receiving this season. He's a big play receiver, not the kind of guy who will rack up a ton of catches like Brown. But he has shown through the first 4 weeks he is consistent.
Week 1 @WAS: 3 targets, 2 receptions, 56 yards
Week 2 vs. CIN: 5 targets, 2 receptions, 97 yards
Week 3 @PHI: 4 targets, 3 receptions, 50 yards
Week 4 vs. KC: 8 targets, 6 receptions, 79 yards
He has not scored a TD yet this season and I believe that may be why he is owned in so few leagues. Just someone to think about/keep an eye on when putting in waiver claims.

Shoutout to Sammie Coates! He is playing better than every WR from the 2015 draft right now. The only one even close is Amari Cooper. Man, I love this team and it's next man up mentality!

After that there's a huge dropoff in productivity. #GOATCOATES
EDIT: So a lot of you seem to think I'm suggesting that Coates is a better WR than Cooper, lol. That's just not true, it's obvious that Cooper is far better. Just for the record, I also think Kevin White is better even though the production isn't there.
I was just pointing out Sammies production so far. Just remember that there were 12 WRs selected before him. Goes to show our teams amazing ability to evaluate WR talent.
