A list of puns related to "Sabaton (band)"
So my friend showed me Sabaton a while ago and I love it, having downloaded and listened to all of their music on Apple Music. Because Iβm enjoying Sabaton so much Ive been looking into other bands, but Iβm struggling to find anything that comes close to Sabaton, and my friends other suggestions arenβt really doing it for me. Iβm not really a fan of Powerwolfβs lyrics, Epica and Apocalyptica are good but donβt quite scratch the itch, and I donβt want to stream gloryhammer or alestorm because I donβt want to give Chris Bowes money. If anyone has any other suggestions on bands that are in the same vein as Sabaton, I would greatly appreciate it!
P.s. Iβm sorry I just removed a lot of the common suggestions.
This may not count for JU given I was actually banned just now.
To give a quick overview, the metalmemes subreddit has a list of banned musicians and bands to stop the subreddit being flooded with those particular bands. Fair enough, seems reasonable.
However the subredditβs users seemed to jump into a bandwagon of hating on theo band Sabaton. For those who donβt know Sabaton is a metal band who sing about history and particular military history. This includes topics around WWII and the Nazis.
Now fair enough, itβs one thing to simply not like a band, and Iβm fully aware that a band might not be to everyoneβs tastes. But it reached a point in that particular subreddit where people endlessly hated on Sabaton and even mentioning them would earn you a torrent of abuse and downvotes.
It eventually devolved into a single βjokeβ, that Sabaton are Nazis/support Nazis. This horse got beaten so much it was a bloody pulp. The subreddit even had a Sabaton flair which alternated between saying βRacistsβ and NSBM.
Yay subreddit is one of the worst, most gatekeeping places Iβve come across. Fuck that.
Gotten a Wows ad with a metal/rock band advertising for Wows. Song isn't in English and seems to be more Eastern european. Definetly not Sabaton/Bismarck. Does anyone know the name of the band/song? Thanks
First post, so I apologize for any formatting issues.
" I think itβs because they sing about people in the Wehrmacht which was inherently bad so people assume that all people in it were when many were just conscripts."
"Yeah bud the βclean Wehrmachtβ is 100% a myth."
" Iβm not saying everyone was good Iβm just saying that many donβt deserve blame."
This continues on for a bit with another user jokingly calling OP a racist. OP decides this is the hill he will die on with this comment.
" But I donβt enjoy racism
What I do enjoy is learning about heroic deads and actions done by individuals and groups throughout history and having a brain larger that a pea means I can discern when someone or something is racist and when something is a product of there time or even have the knowledge that not all people in the past were racist even in the Wehrmacht many were conscripts and many were just normal people fighting for there country not being racist at all like the German officer who stopped his soldiers killing innocents saying βone day history will judge usβ unfortunately history is more nuanced than many seem to think and people just think ww2 Germany bad and a surprising amount believe that ww1 Germans also bad whilst this is true it is also true of ww1 allies too as the main problem with ww1 Germany was they committed war crimes but so did other armyβs they were only blamed m

First song was Seven Pillars of Wisdom
I was new to history- and I didn't know it was based on true events for some reason
But the song was motivating to me- and now all Sabaton songs are!
I've been a Sabaton fan for a long time and just recently I've found out that there's a Russian bro who sings their exact songs(mostly about Russian history) in the Russian language.
Now, I'm a big history geek and I'm curious about modern Russian bands(rock, metal, rap, anything) which create music about Russia's Great Patriotic War. I've been listening to the Red Army's choir for some time but I want to explore new music(modern, obviously).
My Russian is actually pretty good but it's not enough for a post like this, in a few months I hope I'll be able to communicate exclusively in Russian.
Is there a specific band member or do they all share the sabaton YouTube account?
I am preparing for a crusade
