Interview with bassist Par Sundstrom regarding the album

I listened to the history edition of the album first (as Joakim suggested in many interviews) , then I listened to the regular version of the album, then I listened to it a few more times, and then I listened to the soundtrack version. And this soundtrack really surprised me the most out of everything. It's such awesome orchestral compositions that still feel like Sabaton. I expected the regular album to be great, and it was as I expected, but I didn't expect to get such an awesome soundtrack version!

I really hope they from now on will create soundtracks like this with every new album in the future!

a album about the Balkans would be a interesting one since the Balkan's dont really have that many nations that have songs made about them, like they only have three nations (Bosnia, Serbia and Greece) that they had done songs on them not including we burn. but i have reasons why it would be interesting yet amazing for a album just on the balkans.

1: it could talk about countries like Croatia, Hungary and Bulgaria which all three have important battles in their history, like the siege of Dubrovnik, the 718 battle of Constantinople and the Siege of Belgrade (which has the most info where 60400 thousand troops fought off against 100 thousand ottoman troops, though outnumbered they could inflict multiple casualties)

2: they could go on tour with those songs for fans who live in the Balkans and the tour could happen like a month before the album releases so fans could give honest feedback

3: they could get away with sooo many things that other non south Slavic groups could not. like wearing certain uniforms that have a permanent strong bond to those down in the Balkans, a list being: Hrvatska's Ustaše, kingdom of Serbia uniform (and also the Yugoslavian military's uniform if they want to be extra bad ass) and Bulgaria's original land uniform.

Okay, so in history in school, I'm currently learning about the Cold War. And I thought to myself "There's more than enough here to make a Sabaton album with" and there really is. Just some ideas for song topics I had included...

The beginning of the Cold War / End of WW2 The Berlin Crises / Airlift The Hungarian Uprising The Bay Of Pigs Incident AND Fidel Castro's government takeover The Korean War and The Vietnam War ( They were both US efforts to "contain" communism I'm sure everyone else here could find more song topics aswell, but then at the end of the album, have a song about the end of the Cold War and The dissolution of The Soviet Union, and have the song bear some similarities or be a similar style to Rise Of Evil

The app doesn't show that this album exists. It says that this album isn't available in my country when searching from google, although the swedish version is available.

So i wanted to ask you guys, are you having this album missing? It's been more that a month since it disappeared.

I want to make a tshirt Sabaton related to one of their albums and i figured great war would be cool to have the album work on the front and the paper things on the back.

This is every related song, ordered by starting date of the events they're relating to, or beginning of notoriety for the people being sung about; great war and end of the war to end all wars bookend the album, with diary of an unknown soldier and Flanders field providing intro and outro; while diary SHOULD come later due to being about the Argonne, it seemed a good mirror to the peacefulness of Flanders fields and therefore a good lead in

I also know that he spoke four languages: Russian, English, German, and Spanish. He never once talked about his mission/his work, only that he was stationed in Berlin. Even his wife never knew anything, or if she did she never spoke of it to anybody else.
