My (24F) boyfriend (24M) did something that I think is shitty and I need a second opinion
I'd like to start this off by saying that this is a serious question.
My boyfriend farts all the time, everywhere. He farts while we're in the bath, he sits on my lap while I'm peeing and farts on me, he farts while we're having sex, etc. You get the picture.
Well, last night my stomach was hurting really bad and I accidentally farted and he proceeded to treat me terribly. I laughed and told him that he farts all the time and he said "it's different, I have to put stuff in you, you don't have to put stuff in me." I was offended, I felt that what he said was sexist and I told him so and he said that it's about men and women and sexual attraction.
Well, we don't get to finish this conversation because he has to go to bed for work. So, I spend all night feeling awful about myself until he wakes up in the morning and I try talking to him again and explaining my point of view. At this point, he throws his phone against the bed and yells at me, "I'm so fucking tired of you not understanding logic! How do you not fucking get it?!"
I break down and have a panic attack. I used to be in a physically and emotionally abusive relationship and he knew that. I can't handle being yelled at. So when he began acting like that I just broke down, I couldn't do it.
He gets up and starts getting dressed angrily as I'm sobbing and hyperventilating and eventually he stops beside the bed and said, "I'm going to explain this to you, are you listening. If I farted while we have sex, it just goes against the bed, but if you fart, then you fart on me, do you get the difference?"
I understood the difference and I told him so, but I would never pass gas during sex, that's disgusting, and I would never intentionally fart around him. I told him so. He then tells me again that it's about sexual attraction and that I apparently don't care about him being attracted to me like that, which I never said, we have a great sex life.
He apologized before leaving for work about the yelling, but didn't stay long enough to make sure I was okay. Am I wrong for being upset about what he said?
