A list of puns related to "René Auberjonois"
...and my mind is totally blown.
He’s also a distant relative to Napoleon Bonaparte.
Not the connection I expected to make tonight but it’s a fun giggle to imagine Odo singing it
I was sitting on my couch, watching the H&I channel, when Deep Space Nine came on. DS9 is pretty much the one star trek show i've never really seen much of, and there was nothing much else on. One of the main characters, a smooth-faced alien with slick-backed hair and sunken eyes named Odo was prominent in this episode.
As I listened to him talk, I slowly started to realize that I had definitely recognized him from somewhere else. I just couldn't figure out from where. Then...Mr. House, is that you? No way. But yes, I looked him up, and it's him.
I just really like his voice in general, and usually kinda feel bad about killing him in New Vegas. René died in 2019 unfortunately, but he had quite a career in acting/voice acting.
I'm gonna have to start watching more DS9.
Nothing particularly groundbreaking here just wanted to share my appreciation for the man Mr House himself René. As a big star trek fan it completely went over my head that stiff upper-lipped security chief Odo was also the gambling mastermind faction leader of New Vegas. (Not to mention slightly barmy inventor from A:TLA). I had the opportunity to meet him at a star trek convention before he passed and I wish I'd known at the time as I'd have loved to hear him quote a line or 2 from one of my favourite games. All round just a lovely gentlemen and brilliant actor.
RIP my dude
Theater, film, TV and voice actor and singer René Auberjonois passed away yesterday at age 79. Although he wasn't a household name, his work touched generations. He was the original Father Mucahy in the movie M*A*S*H (1970), the governor's chief of staff in the 80s sitcom Benson, the voice of Chef Louis in The Little Mermaid (1989), Odo to fans of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Paul Lewiston on Boston Legal.

I was fortunate to see him in 1970 in his Tony winning role with Katherine Hepburn in Coco. He played Coco Channel's assistant, Sebastian Baye - the first openly gay character I had ever seen on stage. Broadway fans also know him from the original casts of Big River (1984), Dance of the Vampires (2002), and as Buddy Fidler/Irwin S. Irving in City of Angels (1989).

Odo was pretty good character with a fairly good character arc over the course of DS9. It would be interesting to see what they could have done with modern special effects and the budgets that come along with them. I also think René would have really fit in well on the Expanse. He’d have made a great aging detective.

Star Trek Online: Victory is Life expansion
According to his answer in this interview where he discusses reprising the role of Odo for the Star Trek Online Game. Pretty cool! https://io9.gizmodo.com/deep-space-nines-rene-auberjonois-on-returning-as-odo-f-1826496713
Odo wanted so desperately to return to his people, but he knew that while they hurt innocent people and remained xenophobic he could not join them. He set out to change the minds of an entire species. And he did.
As Gul Dukat said, "A true victory is to make your enemy see they were wrong to oppose you in the first place."
Odo did exactly that. He shared with his people the empathy he had gained by living among their enemies. He taught them to value life that was different from their own and to realize how wrong they were to hurt others simply because of their differences.
But Odo didn't begin that way. In the beginning he was bitter, cynical, and distrustful. It was through his struggles with Quark and Garak, his relationship with Kira (and Lwaxana), and the help of his other friends on DS9 that he became a kind and caring person. The sort of person that could stop a war.
René played that transformation beautifully. I guess I just wanted to say that I'm gonna miss him.
