Real talk, Coldplay is my favorite band and pop is my favorite genre so when I hear people say Chris’ song writing is weaker so far because of the album’s genre choice, that’s simply just not fair. Pop doesn’t suddenly mean uninspiring song writing.

Why Fineline The album is about larry: LARRY IS REAL PEOPLE

Here is the list of easter eggs: https://onedirection.fandom.com/f/p/4400000000003173486

In sunflower, vol. 6, the gibberish at the beginning is actually the word sunflower in reverse. Also, in she, it states, " yes I want Lou, YES I want Louis." in reverse as well. This lets me know that it was obviously not an accident that in sunflower, vol6. the sunflower in reverse was sang or spoken, and NEITHER was yes i want louis, or any of the other messages. Therefore larry is real. Thank you. TPWK everyone!!

I can understand the criticism Eminem gets for certain bars and songs but I feel people who think he’s not one of the greats are going out of their way to be ignorant. It’s not a real issue but on this sub it’s constant.

I remember just a couple months ago I talked to a coworker who is heavy into rap music but never heard Dead Wrong. I can’t imagine the amount of people who haven’t actually listened to the original Marshall Mathers LP but will crucify the guy like it’s their job. I mean do these people go out of their way to call MGK corny? Usually not.

Part of me recognizes Eminem was/is cringey in some aspects but in the grand scheme he is a staple of the culture. When it comes to raw ability he is easily in the top 15 of all time.

If he died 10 years ago nobody would even have a negative opinion, they’d just pay their dues like they do with Tupac, Biggie, Mac Miller, and Juice WRLD.

I could write a book on this concept but y’all need to chill. You don’t fuck with him? Go ahead listen to whatever you want, stop going out of your way though.

Tons of rappers I can’t stand, but I willl never go out of my way to put them down. Been there done that. Drake is corny. Hopsin is corny. Mac Miller is corny. 99% of these mumble rappers are corny and +50% are sus. Listen to the music you enjoy.

But as the great birdamn would say put some respeck on mah name.

For the very few people who hold strong options and have actually took time to listen to Ems discography, good , I’m sure you aren’t the ones coming here to express your disdain.

Sorry. Drunk rant.

I'll probably get downvoted with this but it's the hard truth. We're in a global pandemic and these people who worked hard to help bring Bobby's vision for No Pressure into fruition aren't getting paid. These people need the money to live, eat, pay bills and more. Sure, yes, a new Bobby album would always be welcomed but this is bigger than music and as a Bobby's fans, we should be behind him and calling for Def Jam to pay these people as much as possible.

I am the leader of an imaginary band and LSD cult from Salt Lake City, Utah. We make real music for real people and have an album coming out this month where I play all of the instruments in a full orchestra. AMA

Golden Plates started 5 years ago when I was living in the equivalent of my bosses hobby closet and I, with the help of the voices in my head, made an EP with an old broken guitar and a hand me down laptop that Salt Lake Underground Magazine called " a music project that spits in the face of pretentiousness and takes independent music back to its roots with grimy, gritty, guitar-lathered caveman rock."

5 years later we have released 2 albums and EPs along with several singles, and our orchestral album "Golden Plates: Unplugged with the Bourbon Tabernacle Orchestra" is due out on June 26. Our mission is to make every day everyone's birthday, and we don't require financial contributions to join our Congregation.

Edit: Thanks for the silver, whoever sent that. I'll try not to spend it all in one place. I'm here to answer all your questions, and no question is off limits.

Last night's 60 Minutes piece gives a bit more insight to the real reasons people are leaving the Bay Area instead of the crime this sub thinks it is. SF is not the only one.

It boils down to an employee's market and why so many people quit their jobs and why so many jobs are open. Many of these are

  • The jobs where the most people quit are in retail, hospitality, education and health care.

  • Employees are not going to take any abuse of any kind from an employer and want more perks including benefits but mostly flexibility in their scheduling.

  • Where at the beginning of the pandemic, 1 in 67 were working remotely, now it's 1 in 7. A lot of employees want this.

  • People are leaving cities like SF and Chicago to down scope their lives for cheaper housing, smaller cities, more space, food, general costs and moving to places like Austin, Miami and Greenville NC.

Why is everyone talking about Taylor Swift and Jake Gylenhale and how do people know how much in Swift's songs are real things and how much is like a fictional story??

curious about both these things

like i know she has a song that is supposed to be about jake gylenhale BUT did anyone really confirm that??

and also like how do you EVER know a song is really a real thing and how much is a story?? a song is great no matter if its a real story or its a fiction..its a great song no matter what..but every artist i think makes fictional things--isnt there an expression that art is the lie that tells the truth??

https://tumblr.austinkleon.com/post/19467113501

β€œArt is a lie that tells the truth.” With so many quotes attributed to Picasso, it’s hard to track down where they actually came from, or whether they were even said at all.

In 1923, Picasso talked about cubism with an American critic named Marius de Zayas. The discussion was translated (with his approval) and published as β€œPicasso Speaks,” in The Arts. What Picasso is really talking about is cubism, and how much he’s not into β€œresearch” when it comes to painting. Here’s part of it:

>When I paint, my object is to show what I have found and not what I am looking for. In art intentions are not sufficient and, as we say in Spanish: love must be proved by facts and not by reasons. What one does is what counts and not what one had the intention of doing.

>We all know that Art is not truth. Art is a lie that makes us realize truth, at least the truth that is given us to understand. The artist must know the manner whereby to convince others of the truthfulness of his lies. If he only shows in his work that he has searched, and re-searched, for the way to put over lies, he would never accomplish anything.

I know the real reason why mods on reddit constantly delete things and ban people so much

Today I got GPT-2 to work on my local machine. It was so difficult even for me. I read somewhere that GPT-3 needs so much RAM that you have to have two dozen GPUs each with 16 GB of vRAM, costing over $20,000 just for that part of the system. They really make you do the Abramelin ritual to summon GPT-3.

One of my favorite things to do is ask GPT-2 to tell me a story about hitler's penis. It always makes me bust a gut. Anywho, I recently told another community about two examples of moderator abuse on the news subreddit. One thread was about pit bulls and another was about jussie smollett. Both were locked because y'all can't behave, and according to reveddit the mods went through and deleted a lot of comments, many of which were not actually breaking any rules. This part of the story is probably nothing new to most of you.

Playing with GPT today and seeing all the memes about the different models being biased and politically incorrect made me realize something. There is a very real chance that reddit moderators on big places like news or pics are actually just using the comments as training data for ML models. They have to keep the data very clean so their desired result is a very convincing leftist, authoritarian collectivist, or whatever sick perversions they prefer. So they go through and delete all the comments that don't fit into these types of narratives, the human victims are left wondering what is happening to them, and then the training data is squeaky clean and ready to be fed to the demon. Eventually ML models will become so convincing that they will be used as weapons against populations and governments. Whoever has the most convincing ML model will win the hearts and minds of the people. I hope Randy makes an album about it someday soon.

Real Talk; The state of Halo Infinite so people are better informed.

First and foremost you can do whatever you want.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to buy something you enjoy, but I want to halp people be informed about it so they can make a conscious decision either way.
And only because Halo is one of my favorite franchises.

After weeks of evidence the problem is far larger than if the game is fun or not, free or not, or grindy or not. It's about their treatment of fans, the franchise, the direct gameplay impact these design decisions have and how it relates to the longevity and core loop design of the game.

Here's an album with a bunch of pictures from comments and posts here. Besides the "leak" picture, every single comment has been confirmed in-game, and some of them highlight just a few ways these issues affect gameplay too.

  • Lying about free content that ends up being actually paid.
  • Separating items across multiple purchases and challenges and months of padded content.
  • Giving players the absolute minimal, but with a solid gameplay foundation.

It is my opinion that those things aren't coincidences or troubles in development, they are intentional choices. The studio heads at 343 and or Microsoft have intentionally hindered their game in order to capitalize on early buyers and whales before the evidence started coming out, capitalizing on long time fans that would instantly buy the season pass innocently and ignorant to the reality of what they are being conned into. I believe this because I've seen it happen with friends of mine, and almost fell myself as a long time fan. They (may have) done this knowing that they can "fix" the game in the future to keep the main fanbase, and that early buyers already spent their money.

So if you haven't yet, it's not too late to avoid supporting these practices, and if you have, I am sorry. And if you choose to, that's your call as long as you are aware of this very real possibility.

These are real problems with concerning design and business decisions that should not be encouraged, and people are right to speak about. It is not a matter of people "whining", not a "generational divide" between "reasons to play the game" or a matter of cosmetic quantity for a free game. it is however the sequel to one of the biggest franchises in the history of media, and it absolutely should stand judged as such.

I'm begging you people to stop getting swayed by every passionate post from someone who clearly doesn't have any real end result with their rallying cry

I swear to god every month we get some post on the front page of this sub like "It's time Jagex, the polling system has got to go. We are tired of no-voters slowly killing our game and denying us content!". And it's almost always some dude who, judging from their post history, picked up OSRS like 3 months ago after several years of playing Fortnite, Fallguys, Apex Legends, and whatever other flavor of the month games are popular on twitch. And this sub eats it up for some reason.

Just, before upvoting and vaguely agreeing that yes, being able to vote actually blows and should be a taken away from you, think really quick and really hard:

  1. How many quests can you think of have not made it through the polling process
  2. Does asking "How do you guys feel about this quest" significantly delay the release process to the point where you can't stand it
  3. Compared to other MMOs, is OSRS Popular? Is it healthy? Has it had a long, consistent life? (Quick Note: OSRS has been going on longer than Runescape had been in total at the time that OSRS was originally released).
  4. Has Jagex ever posted something you didn't agree with or didn't think should be in the game?
  5. What would you actually get out of not being able to vote anymore? Are polls, which overwhelmingly pass, the one thing blocking the game from having 6 updates a month again? Or is it maybe other factors.

I'm on my knees with you people. Having your opinion is fine, but it seems like so much of the time people just... agree with things even when it doesn't seem like they could fully explain why after a question or two, and the people inciting these opinions in the first place seem to be overwhelmingly people new to OSRS themselves. But there's almost no practical end goal to anything they're saying that makes any sense. Polls alone clearly aren't the reason we don't have 3 new quests a month, it makes no sense to agree with the combat level 72 guy trying to link a correlation between the two just because it feels vaguely intuitive that they would be related.

Thanks

TL;DR Why won't someone just hold me.

Just need to vent - the anti-landlord people pretend these stories aren’t real

Landlord US-PA: I’m in PA…have had tenants in a rental property ($2400/mo rent) and have not received rent for 15 months (I have a $1700/mo mortgage payment). Plus over $5000 in water bills I had to pay to date.

They basically moved in and paid first month and security, then decided to stop payment even though they were not impacted by COVID.

Once the moratorium was lifted in Oct 2021, the local courts wouldn’t schedule a court date for me because they were backed up and urged that I β€œwork it out with your tenant.” Had to get my lawyer involved and court date was last week. They have until tomorrow to vacate but haven’t yet and I will need to go back to court to get sheriff scheduled to forcibly evict them…optimistically may be scheduled next week.

Meanwhile I drove by yesterday and all windows are busted and house is now trashed. I’m sure they have all the faucets running too just to spite me.

Not only do these people take advantage of the system, but then they go out of their way to cause more damage out of spite that a landlord can finally stop the bleeding.

And they call me greedy.
